16:00 minutes of the video: I'm Canadian and 2 weeks ago I got my permanent resident visa in Mexico. I was at the immigration office in Playa del Carmen and 85%-90% of the people there were from other Latin American countries. Not only are people going through Mexico to get to the US but I would say hundreds of thousands are staying in Mexico as well including Americans, Canadians, Ukrainians and others I saw on just some random day.

Thanks gents. I've had these same discussions with my family members and we end up with the same end-game: Any action such as no tax payments etc must be driven by the State apparatus. Going it alone is political suicide. Look at how Texas is pushing out the Feds to defend parts of the southern border. Similar procedures are needed to stop emitting Federal excise taxes and blanket amnesty protection must be given by the state for any state citizen who chooses to no longer participate in the Federal thriving (withholding tax). As Doug said, it would end up in a civil conflict.

Well I guess the question I would have is this - does not the very idea of taxation not also qualify as a form of indentured servitude (i.e. slavery, which is illegal)? What rationale is used to distinguish the enforcement of taxation as it pertains to slavery, the latter including the threat of brute force (state monopolized violence) for the compelling of tax payment? BTW, great show today Doug and Matt - really appreciate you put into these KZbin discussions!

What you guys said about the immigration issue is correct. I would only offer that the ppl coming in are by and large more compliant culturally and therefore will be more apt to follow the govt in the long term. The ppl oganizing this invasion are thinking long term because they will have kids.

The show was very correct to point out that the state will mow anyone down who doesn't follow their tax laws! But there are some people who are choosing to not use Federal reserve currency notes so that they are not violating tax law. It sounds miserable and difficult to me, but they are actually trying to withdraw their involvement in the whole mess. Unfortunately I don't think it will catch on because the problems of implementing it must be tremendous. IF this caught on however, it would be a serious problem for the ruling classes.

In the UK, Acts and Statutes are Legislative 'rules' of society given the 'force of law' by the 'consent' of the governed. My limited research suggests you consent (under coercion) to be Governed by Registering and licensing to an "Authority", known as acting in the Public jurestdiction. Apartmentretly there are other jurisdictions outside of the Legal system referred to as in the Private I.e Private Trusts, Co-ops, Private members associations..

Doug & Matt... The amount of money flowing into the County I live in (Walton Co. Florida), is off the charts, the amount of construction going on is simply CRAZY..... Family/I have owned property here since 1990, with absolutely nothing changing in Freeport part of the Panhandle of Florida until 2004 time frame, then it just started blowing & Going up until 2008. Deals in 2009 - 2011 were 20 Cents on the 2008 Dollar? The building now is 3 to 4 times the amount of construction as in the 04 to 08 time frame???? Opportunity?????

The only realistic thing you can do about taxes is lower your income and don't buy from a store with a license to sell goods. Basically, minimize your tax burden. Death and taxes are the only 2 sure things in life. My father told me this when I was a kid many years ago and it is still true today. I left my job (to stop paying taxes) as a result of the recklessness. I cannot retire, but I am in my 30s and don't have major expenses and substantial savings/assets for someone my age, so I just said screw it. I was already tired of my profession and paying almost half your money in taxes into a country that is imploding at the seams....just makes little sense to me. I want to keep working, but I'm now at the asset level where I'm not sure I want to keep working just to invest....it seems America will bust well before I get to 70, so I don't want to live with the resentment of saving, saving, saving and then potentially losing everything; thus, I made the decision, I may as well slow down and enjoy some of my money now and recoup from my professional burnout that really destroyed my quality of life over the last few years. When I go back to work, my plan is to live more rural and spend more of my current earnings on physical assets I can enjoy, classic cars, motorcycles, maybe some fine art or collectible watches, guns. Maybe get another dog or two.

Sure, that's one reason they are doing it, but the government created that problem to begin with by making the social security system. Before people could count on high interest rate accounts, and a gold backed dollar that didn't devalue and save up enough them selves for retirement. Pensions were also more of a thing 30 years ago.

Anarchy represents a veeery optimistic point of view about human behavior which is not supported by biology or history. Biology tells us that primates fight until a leader emerges, usually the biggest, baddest specimen. In our case it might be the most dishonest politician. History tells us that in the absence of a strong leader humans tend to band in small groups and fight each other constantly. Think of what happened after the fall of the roman empire. For that and other reasons I think all forms of anarchy are not even remotely viable. Some of us might have a type or level of consciousness that opens other possibilities, but to extrapolate that to the general population is delusional IMO. The best we can do is stay out of dodge.

@@Jaime-eg4eb That's because there's translation errors and misrepresentations on wiki. I'd recommend researching Brehon law in depth. I'd also try to understand what a "king" was in those times to the Irish, because it's not what you're thinking. But in short what they had was several voluntary associations of men, emphasis on voluntary because no democratic decision was biding in the way we think of today, combined with what were essentially elders of the community that were chosen among the people to handle disputes. In most respects the system mirrored what anarcho capitalists today are trying to create, just without the nuance of insurance companies handling national defense and things of that nature. There system, was even very free market, with practically no regulation, and no taxes throughout most of the that 1000 year period.

It may be a flatter pyramid without taxes and what not, but it is still a pyramid. And that hierarchical structure is there always, on every society I can think of. But I understand that some versions of anarchy allow such a thing. My only point is that a true anarchy is not viable due to the way humans are built. We can get infinitely close to it though, and it sounds like the Irish got a lot of things right. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, it's quite interesting. Have a nice week!

@@Jaime-eg4eb No problem, and I try not to get into the weeds of what is a "true" anarchy or not, those conversations serve almost no purpose but to divide and distract from real solutions. What's important is there were voluntary systems, systems where true choice existed ect. If we move towards those systems we are doing what's right, if we move away from them then we are throwing away more freedoms and centralizing power more. Take care, good talk.
