He’s the next face of the league whether you like it or not. Jokic is great but he has no interest in being the face of the NBA.

Its not that hard to use Wikipedia. Luka won the Spanish domestic league three times with his club real madrid. He also won the continental club league Euro League once with real madrid. While all of this is impressive, he also managed to win the Continental european Championship with his national team, Slovenia. Which means there is no trading role players and no buying stars. It was just him and a couple of kids from a country that has 1/4 of the number of citizens new york city has. Of course he was the MVP in all of these competitions. Oh and he did it before he was 19 years old and joined the nba. Winning the NBA isnt special for this guy. Listen to him, its just Basketball for him.

@@JJmystic it matters to the ratings, and narratives, national pride etc. All star game is terrible, its easy fix to make it interesting by doing America vs The World, why it would not happen? Executives are afraid America would lose. In perfect world for the business it would be 2 clearly best players 1 being American 1 Euro going at each other for a decade, but now when arguably top 5 players are not American, you get these 4 good games in playoffs for Ant and hes the face of the league and next MJ while dude was not even in MVP conversation. Nothing against Ant, its just media pushing it, because ratings need it.

@@Mrt-yg9mw oh yeah. The media is DESPERATE for ant to get to the finals and become the face of the league. Even though giannis Luka jokic sga are better.. I know embiid is on that list but I can’t stand that dude. I think ratings would be fine with Luka as the face of the league. But someone like joker they don’t like it because he treats it like work. Doesn’t really care about all the media and fanfare. Just wants to go home and chill with his horses. And his game is unathletic and not very pleasing to the eye but his dominance is there nonetheless. I saw a video explaining AAU plays tons of games with very little practicing while euros practice constantly and do it way more than they play. This could contribute to the dominance at the very top of the game. And that’s becoming more obvious because team basketball is outplaying top heavy superteams recently. Especially in the past 7 to 10 years. Except the dubs but they drafted that amazing squad. KD going there was just icing on the cake. I didn’t like that move at all for him but he got his rings* regardless so.

Here's is a little tip for americans and other nationalities when they are struggling to pronounce any slavic last name with "č" or "ć" in them, and there are lots of slavic last names with those two latters. Every time you see "č" or "ć", just read it "ch". There is small variation between "č" and "ć", but it's negligible that you can pronounce both letters "ch" and be good with it.

This analogy with Slovenia national team is great. Luka vas MVP but, goran dragic played role similar that Kyrie is playing now. And you don't know what accomplishment is for Slovenia to be better than Serbia, Spain, France or Litvania. I am from Croatia so i have seen lots of Slovenian basketball. And I think that Luka and Kyrie are just great fit now.

How? T Mac never even won a playoff series as the man, east & west. He was a great scorer, but not a great winner. Didn’t lead teams. Didn’t have what it takes in the most important moments.

@@CensorTube84 The last time I checked, Giannis was also out of the playoffs, so you can't criticize Jokic for being eliminated. Besides, Kyrie is not even the best player on his team.

Luka will never be the face of the NBA, that's not what the NBA wants. Truthfully, I don't think anyone will be the face of the NBA over the next few years. What Luka can do is establish himself as the best player in the game. You can argue that he's already numero uno.
