You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The show regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

Very high level poker players will randomize their folds and calls in certain spots. It is possible that Doug felt he should be folding somewhere close to 50% in this spot, so he chose to add some pageantry. He is part owner of The Lodge, which means he is part owner of the stream, and of this youtube channel. So coming up with clever ways to make content like this makes him more money in the long run. Pretty smart businessman imo.

It's hard to do cause you'd have to account for how aggressive Taras is and what his range is, but he is on the button so it probably opens it up a bit. He beats AK, AQ, AJ, JJ, 99, 98, 97, 77, 76, 65, spade draws (his king also removes a decent amount of hands Taras could have)(could maybe remove AK and JJ because they likely 3-bet preflop). Not sure if you can add KJ/KQ cause they likely fold the flop raise. Loses to A10, K10, Q10, J10, 10-9, 10-8, 10-7. 50/50 seems pretty reasonable, but yeah, would like to see someone smarter than me do the math on this lol

"I'm just thinking how much to bet" live tell that you are weak. Just like someone who makes eye contact with you or snap call/jam. Player with a strong hand would consciously avoid doing those things.
@pokersoftwarereviews5051
@pokersoftwarereviews5051 Жыл бұрын
At lower stakes this is true. But if the player is good, looking for these kinds of tells won't work, in fact they'll often backfire. For example, there's this one story Negreanu tells where he's bluffing a weak hand and he intentionally puts his head down in his hands while his opponent thinks about it. Everyone who follows the high stakes poker community ends up seeing this on TV and/or KZbin, and for the next year or so he's just printing EV by performing the same "tell" whenever his hand is nutted.
