God the thing with the waiter is so annoying. Like sry for not waiting a few minutes while your food is just sitting out waiting right in front of you. You don’t want a customer to get it themselves, then give it to them before you take other people’s orders and decide to ignore it despite walking up to it. There was one time I even got attitude from a Starbucks worker for picking up a straw for my drink that they dropped. The worker was like “sir I could have picked it up for you, you didn’t need to grab it yourself”. Like how dare a customer takes their own initiative.

But its like that in some cultures. When i flew businessclass on Emirates and the crew started putting mattresses on the seats, i put my own instead of having the crew mess around with it in my personal space, and when a gay attendant saw i already put it myself he was all nose up and saying “….ooohh-keeyyyy…”. Not saying he had to like it but commenting on it or correcting a customer is always bad customer service.
