We didn't see enough advantage to getting the H3, the H2 is already insane power. So far it is delivering 105% of what they said it would, across the boards. But it needs that giant battery to get reasonable range. A Hyundai Ioniq 6 goes significantly further, on less than half the battery. And charges faster (in miles-added-per-minute) thanks to being so much more efficient. The fastest-charging Hummer advertises "Up to 100 miles in as little as 11 minutes with a compatible DC fast charger" (350 kW) The worst takes 14 minutes. (Less efficient, and only takes 300 kW.) Ioniq 6 advertises 250 miles added in 18 minutes. (They don't do a "100 miles in x", they do a "10-80% in x".) And Out of Spec's charging tests bear this out. Ioniq 6 adds miles faster across the board. (Sadly, they haven't charge tested or range tested the longer-range Ioniq 6, only the lower range model that does get less range than the Hummer EV.)

So after years of no vacations and insanely hard work and stress, my wife and I sold a company we had built and it went well. I didn't want anything out of it other than the security the money afforded, but my wife wanted one thing: her dream car. It took her a very long time to work out what she wanted and Hummer EV was the LAST think she would have said when she started looking. It's a stupid price, it's a stupid weight, it's a stupid extravagance. Then she ended up test driving one and it was over. She got the EV2, she did not see any need for the "extra" that an EV3 brings, EV2 is already insane. My wife loves this car more than anything she has ever driven. Impractical? Fairly (but we have solar and L2 charging at home). Overkill? Oh this is the "I think he's trying to overcompensate for something" vehicle of the year. Do we love it? Yes. Would I have bought one? No, but my wife was the lead on the company we built and that's what she wanted and man I love seeing her so happy. And I do not mind driving it or being the passenger, it is very nice to say the least. Freakish acceleration. It's VERY definitely not the right ride for everyone. But I don't think GMC ever planned it to be that way. But GMC has cars around 27K to 32K range, like the Terrain. Problem with those is I feel other makers do a better job in the inexpensive car range. But GMC seems to do well with some of their more pricier offerings. Wouldn't be my thing, I like Tacomas.

For decades everybody complained about the hummers being environment destroying gas guzzling monsters. I guess this is their response to all that after all those years, a 4+ ton electric behemoth that is destroying the climate in a different way, that somehow weighs even more than the original H1. I guess this is a modernized version of the H1 and I guess they did a decent job 👍

That applies to pretty much applies to all EV trucks IMO. I predicted from the beginning that EV trucks in general wouldn't sell well since people who buy trucks for the image don't tend to be EV buyers and people who buy trucks to do actual work like contractors or someone towing a camper generally wouldn't buy something so expensive just to get a job done, especially considering the limited range and long recharge times. IMO, EV trucks make a lot of sense for people who actually need a truck to haul things, have a place to charge, do most of their driving fairly locally, and won't exceed the truck's range in a typical day, but that's about it.
