It definitely is more special than a Urus. Here in LA I see at least one Urus on that road almost every day (and I see two or more in a day way more often than many would think). I've seen so many Uruses on the road, when I see one now I almost treat it like any other regular luxury SUV. However, I've only seen one Aston Martin DBX so far. If I were to get a high performance SUV, it'd most likely be the DBX 707.

Coolest Quirk of the video are those slick license "plates" that Aston Newport seems to have. Looks like an E-Ink screen they can program with the temp registration, or have it in a display mode. That’s exactly the problem I have with these cars. HPs went to stratosphere yet speed limits stay the same and traffic laws are stricter than ever. Plus, car makers have to compensate this ridiculous power bump with all sorts of electronic and mechanical systems that aid the car and prevent you from doing stupid shit ending up in disconnecting driver from the road. What you end up with is that you don’t enjoy driving this car as much as your Mustang even at 3x power

Not about the car, but I think it's neat that the dealer is using the digital e-ink license plates on their vehicles. They advertise the dealership until a car goes on a test drive at which point they change it to show dealer plates. Better than having to prop a plate in the back window or risk scratching the paint with the magnet backed plate. Only legal in a few states, but kind of neat to see.

Not the newest tech. I'll almost take that as a win. It means you get real buttons for a lot of things. Instead of everything being touchscreen controlled. 👍 And it may just be me. @@MrManBuzz Well yes and no. Personally I hate when they make everything touch controlled. Sure it looks nice, but buttons just works better when you use them while driving. (Most companies also do that because it's cheaper to slap a screen on the dash. Instead of spending a lot of money on design and layout of buttons) And I would probably go for something else, if I wanted the car to drive for me. But that's just my opinion. 😊 I do however agree with the fact that it is a bit dated. They should have touch control on the few things they do have on the screen.

I have not been a fan of the current generation of Aston Martins for some time; mainly due to the amount of Mercedes components in them that just stop these cars being an "Aston Martin" to me. And yes I know a lot of the older Astons had Ford, Mazda, Jaguar and Citroën components in them but they had just enough style and substance to keep them an "Aston Martin". But this DBX 707...I love it! They've tipped the balance enough to make me feel this car is more Aston Martin than Mercedes...and I don't even like SUV's!

Along with the hood latch being on the right/passenger side, looks like they also didn't switch the button for Drive on the dash - makes sense to be on the far right for a right hand drive car - closer to the driver. But seems far away from the driver for a left hand drive car.
@jaybeemhardscrote7466
@jaybeemhardscrote7466 2 жыл бұрын
That whole set up seems very convoluted and dumb. It's either stretching to reach Drive or stretching to reach Reverse, who thought it was a good idea to put that on the very top of the dash when the center console is much more easily reached.

I like push button autos, but the buttons should be clustered together on the driver's side of dash between the steering wheel and the door, like how they were on 1950's Dodges/Chryslers. The hood release in the passenger footwell is a tradition from the old days where you would always keep a mechanic with you as a passenger while doing open road cross-country GT races.
@iangreenway5580

In the UK all bonnet (hood) release handles are on the passenger side of the car. This is a safety feature so drivers using the peddles don’t catch the release handle with their legs. This is something you’ll see on all British made cars.
