Well the car belongs to a viewer so hopefully he will see this comment chain and address the issue. There are so many good detailing businesses out there these days it makes no sense a new car of this caliber would have swirl marks to this extent. But i have seen people do crazy shit when it comes to washing their super cars. One comes to mind for me, one of my neighbors has a GORGEOUS R8 V10+, hes had it since new, about two years now. It’s that pretty Audi chalk grey and he just drives it through the standard car was around the corner from our neighborhood. I’ve actually asked him about it before, trying not to sound incredulous, and he just laughed it off and said it has it detailed once every six months or so and then drives it through otherwise to keep it clean. Seems blasphemous to me and his paint isn’t in good condition. But that’s how he does it and he’s happy with it. I can’t give him too hard a time either because he drives the car all the time and drives it HARD. So I would prefer that to someone who properly maintains the paint on his/her supercar but drives it like a granny for 750 miles a year.

The scale is absolute (cars are judged on the same scale as all other cars regardless of age or body style), as it has to be in order to make any sense -- but people who have never worked with data didn't understand that. So people would just become irrationally upset when I said a car was "fast" but only gave it a 5 out of 10 for acceleration, or when I said a car was "beautiful" but only gave it a 7 out of 10 for styling, whatever. Now you see the part that actually matters: the comparison with other cars. You can see where the car actually falls against rivals, and I can do a more thorough job of giving an overall explanation of its score, rather than saying stuff like "practicality is average for the class and it gets a 4 out of 10" over and over.

People have always been able to build a V8 hotrod in their garage that will blow the doors off any Ferrari in a drag race. Have you ever tested any NSU? My father used it still in the 80's. We have three NSU TYP110 SC air-cooled four-cylinder. One is still in museum spec and road legal car. There was some fancy wankel models like RO80, and Spider, etc. Most interesting was still Prinz TT (or even TTS, Audi?). Very fun cars to drive. Nice review of F8.

Awesome video... question.. so with paddle shifters is basically manual tranmission.. but I understand you can put it into "auto" mode.. is that the auto button on the console? And if I was driving and decided I didnt want auto anymore... do i just touch a paddle and its manual again?
