9:39 I actually appreciate that Mazda created minimalistic, nontouch and small screen infotainment. The center of a car should be driving experience and not infotainment. And also there will be less distraction with smaller screen. With Mazda I would just like it a little lower so it does not distract the drivers view and having smaller bezel. And not only that, Mazda supports HD audio files (FLAC) with Bose system so it really shows how much they care about people enjoying driving the car.

Also, they're Just about THE only NON luxury brand to give you the German style control knob last I checked (i.e. i drive & whatever Merc & Audi have). Not only that but literally across their entire lineup (I believe the bigger nissans have something similar, but most likely NOT available on SL/platinum Rogue/sentras/altimas/etc). Even the subcompact enterprise lot econobox Yaris iA sedans (which is literally just a badge engineered Mazda 2) has the control knob. And I certainly can't be the only person here that'd rather have that knob rather than getting your presumably dirty hands all over the screen and it starts looking disgusting just within the week alone. Granted it IS a pain in the ass to change radio stations unless you're going through the favorites. Hey Doug, I've noticed in a few videos that you mention the missing pocket on the driver seat is cost cutting. The actual reason for that is not to disturb the driver, especially in family cars, kids tend to put too many stuff in there and yank on that thing for no reason thus moving the seat and bothering the driver, so some automakers decided to completely remove it. That's why its always the one on the driver seat missing
@WorksOnMyComputer3 жыл бұрын
Nah its cost cutting. Many brands do it. If that makes you feel better to make up a story around it, ok.

Mazda really go their own way. Have you ever seen an economy car interior that is remotely in this car's league? The Hold feature is brilliant - it removes a major source of fatigue during city driving. And I love that both-pedals warning! So often I see cars on the freeway with their brake lights constantly on as they cruise with the traffic. That is a giveaway that the driver has their left foot on the brake pedal and is rapidly wearing out their brake linings. This warning gives them the scolding they deserve. Go Mazda!

I bought my 2020 Mazda3 a few weeks ago, and I really like it. It has a sleek elegant design, inside and out, and it performs really well too. I purchased the Select trim, which is just one step up from the Base model, about $21,357 not including sales tax and doc fees. The Select trim has all the safety features I was looking for, including rear cross traffic alert, lane assist, auto cruise control, Apple car play, and more. Other manufacturers force you to purchase more expensive trim levels to get these features. As for the infotainment center, I find the sound system much better than my 2018 toyota, my trade in. I like it without having to touch the screen, which happens to be plenty big enough, because I find it easy to navigate, and it doesn’t get my fingerprints all over it. To avoid having to scroll through all the radio stations, simply create a favorites list, and this will make it much easier to skip to your next station. One last thing. The Mazda3 has a Sport mode, which I really like a lot because it helps me to zip around traffic and it’s also a lot of fun to drive.

I own a Mazda 626 Sedan in Prestige Silver Metallic colour, 1990 model ... bought brand new in Melbourne, Australia as a gift from my father for my 18th birthday. He paid $32,000 Australian dollars for it back then! It's now 32 years old, has done 500,000 kilometres !!!!!!!! (310,000 miles) and l continue to drive it daily. Has never failed me. Unbelievable car. I cannot part with it. My first and so far, only car ...!! It still looks like new and has always been outside for its entire 32 years, so far. People cant believe it! Two weeks ago l purchaseda brand new 2022 Mazda 3 Sedan in Sonic Silver Metallic and am expected to take delivery of it at the end of July, imported from Japan. I am keeping my 626 and will never part with it and intend to drive both cars.

I am no car expert and do not mean to generalize at all but to me just about any car wether it is acura, alfa romeo, audi, bentley, bmw, bugatti, Cadillac, chevy, Dodge, Ford, honda, jaguar, jeep, lamborghini, Lexus, mazda, Mercedes, nissan, peugeot, porsche, ultima, Toyota, ultima, Volkswagon or what have you that has around 450 horse power and is an all wheel drive version wether car or SUV is going to be about the best driving experience you can get. Too much lower in specs and you get cheap and unreliable too much higher and you get towards the range of vastly expensive and inpractical and further geared towards performance over features and luxury and reliability. I love engineering and try and keep up with all the newest cars with what practically passes for jet engines under the hood but for every day driving how can you beat AWD with 450 horse power? It is not like in the 1970s either where every car manufacturer aside from their F1 series practically made only 1 type of car that was known for just one type of driver. Just about every car company now has a low end sedan, higher end drop top roadster, SUV, or high end sports line up. If you have a favorite car manufacturer and look for AWD between 400-500 horse power chances are you will not be disappointed. I personally like Lexus, that is my preference.

9:45 That’s the point? It’s an intentional design, the screen is not mean’t to be touched & the farther away it is, the easier it is to keep in-view while you drive decreasing distraction. Also since the screen is further away it dosen’t need to be as big to actually see & read what is there. So your problem with the screen is subjective, you just personally want a touchscreen & don’t like being limited. Though then again the Dougscore itself is subjective so you can have it.

@@millennial_weeb2382 Let me explain. Even if the infotainment system is at a far distance, the way you control it is finicky. You're having to navigate to the menus using a dial or touchpad and also you look at the road at the same time. This makes distracting driving even longer than a non-touchscreen one.

You can switch between your favorite radio stations by the press of one button: either on the steering wheel (next / previous), or by pushing the small wheel dial sidewards. Hold the star-button to add a station to your favorites. I personally love that they've gone small and non-touch screen with the infotainment.
