Thanks for your comment re Karine. I agree wholeheartedly. I was in tears when I listened to her "King of Birds". She seems to be a very natural, unaffected young woman with enormous talent. All the very best to her.

What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song,a lovely mix of voices and the flute (Titanic style) is to die for. Yes Foreverspring Karine sung with a passion and enthusiasm ,you could feel the joy in her voice. I am not Scottish and I had not heard the song before but I just can't stop playing it now.

Why do I feel so connected to a place I've never been? Well I hope to go there some day.

Incredible she certainly is, Amazing, wonderful & full of humility, light & compassion. She was a social worker before she became able to make a living as a musician & so is able to draw on a broad range of issues for her song writing. Go see her perform, she really is Incredible. Take some tissues with you though, she moves some people to tears with some of her songs, that's not to say that she's a misery though, far from it.

Who is the female singer standing next to Dougie? She has such a charming personality and a beautiful voice! This is one song of all the songs ever that I always sob and gulp my way through. I love it. I love Dougie's voice, his guitar playing, his personality!!! What a winner!!!! Wonder will this masterpiece ever become the national anthem of Scotland?

Stunning performance of Dougie MacLean's song. Other musicians I believe include: Barbara Dickson, Karine Polwart, Eddi Reader, Julie Fowlis, Dick Gaughan, Ross Ainslie, John McCusker, Aly Bain, Phil Cunningham, Kris Drever, Ralph McTell and Rab Noakes. Not sure of the others but should be - sorry!

I really hope this becomes the National anthem rather than Flower of Scotland, which is too nationalistic for me. A love song to Scotland is right after the heart of Robert Burns. Well done Dougie - I could sing it forever.

Why the hell is this not the Scottish National Anthem ????

Terrible version of a great song. Dolores Keane sings a MUCH better version of this song.
