I was impressed with the acting, especially Douglas Booth. But I feel the story should've been done as a mini series. Just under 2 hours is WAY to short to get everything in. They left out so many key things. If you're new to Motley Crue or have never read the book, do yourself a favor & do so. One of the absolute best music auto-biographies EVER.

Both actors of Sixx and Mars are really from UK and they did an amazing job as American characters. Amazing. The prince from Pillar of the Earth and Ramsey from Game of Thrones. Nice!!

Just watched that movie with my eldest brother. I'm literally Tommy mixed with Mick. I laughed so hard at the sarcastic comments Mick said throughout the movie. And Niki was amazing, I know what it's like to be addicted to something, I personally am still addicted to blades. Oh every scar has its own story. But he pulled through and that is incredible

Watched it 3 times since last night. Great movie, loved it! Never realized what a dick Nikki was to his band though, amazing they stayed together so long! I was in 6th grade when I heard "Looks That Kill" and wanted to be a rock star! I found a guitar teacher in the trailer park I lived in and played guitar for the next 33 years! Sadly lost my ability to play due to a Neurological Wasting disease.

Freakin LOVED this film. These guys nailed it. They completely immersed themselves and literally morphed themselves into the Crue. When I watched them on the stage ......Holy Shit, they were completely in the zone and I thought it was the Real Crue up there. Phenomenal movie. Awesome casting as well. Rock on Bitches! 🤘🎶🤘

I watched it and to be honest it is not bad but its just one step above a telefilm. And after the scene where they kick Vince Neil out of the band the movie goes full telefilm. My main problem with the movie is that there's no feeling of years going by. They didn't even use the easy trick of showing the number at the beginning of some scenes. If you don't know much about the band you don't know if some scene is in the late 80's or mid 90's. And the characters just change their clothes. They look equally young at the beginning and at the end, except Vince, who looks like a teenager with a painted beard (full telefilm). Also there are some moments that work and many that don't. And the characters are just half believable. I never saw Mick Mars in that movie. 6.8

@@Kingdom_Warrior1 Grunge was the return to form of real music. Glam was a product, hastily made and more focused on outfits, hair, sex appeal and music videos than musicianship. No one will ever play "Shes My Cherry Pie" or "Girls Girls Girls" on an acoustic guitar. They could play Pearl Jam or Nirvana though. Its real music. Go on any Poison video and it will have 10 million views, tops. Ok, now look at Soundgarden. Black Hole Sun has 150 million. Its impact is far far greater, because it was built on actual musicianship and not a cheap hastily made product. Sorry but Glam was not built to last, and may as well be comparable to today's mumble rap autotune shit. Its not music.

Don't lump Skid Row with Poison...VERY different. The problem were all the 2nd and 3rd tier hair metal groups that were coming out in the late 80s' early 90s...so yeah, music needed a change. Bands like Nelson , Winger, Kix, Slaughter, etc, were all 1 hit wonders. with that said, I still enjoy em all. I just appreciate it for what it is....Poison for example were the typical poster boys for this genre but it was simple and fun party music. The 80s glam metal scene overall was just about the image really, not specifically talent. Everyone wanted to cash in. They simply tried to emulate the original glam rockers of the late 60s to 70s (David Bowie, T.Rex, etc) As far as the Crue go, just a great band to listen to. I love grunge, and I agree with you on the musicianship, but at the same time, too fukin depressing lol. I love to mix it up. Plus there's a reason why Metallica left LA...They didn't care for the image. (Same with bands like Slayer and Megadeth).

@@Kingdom_Warrior1 Guns and Roses is hard classic rock. Glam is Ratt, Poison, Warrant, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Kix, Trixter, Styper, endless others that kept getting campier and campier. None of that music holds up today. Motley Crue started glam but attained musical legitimacy same as Bon Jovi. If you're championing "Glam" for Glam sake, shit like "Shes My Cherry Pie" and "Unskinny Bop" is what comes to mind. Dozens of guys who can barely play an instrument dressed like trannies pretending to be metal. It was sooooo bad. So bad. If you grew up in the 80's and were listening to Ratt instead of Slayer or Metallica I feel bad for you.

Actualy , the first wave of glam (mostly called shock rock) was the real deal ...motley , wasp, kiss alice cooper -more heavy metal looking and sounding.... but in the midle of 80`s when the second wave of glam came-the copy cats (poison ratt, warrant...) they turned the whole movement into a circus . :)Motley started as punk/rock/glam on too fast to love .On shout at the devil album... mad max looking with some KISS elemnts , almost heavy metal sound . Only theater of pain is theyr more glamy period (from where the copycats started to copy them.) But On GGG album they totaly changed theyr look againg ,in order to not look like every one else was doing. The look this time was more lika a classic rockers with few glamy elemnts. During the Dr. feelgood they again changed the look and the sound , and this time they were more GnR looking and sounding while underground copycats like poison , nitro and many more looked like a clowns :)
