8:00 Persson's instantaneous and large reraise on this board can be interpreted as quite a timing tell; - A3s, 33, and 88 would likely think for some while, and probably picked a smaller sizing, as there is rather little that Antonius could hit , apart from an overpair . This pot was played in a private game in Macau in 2015 and was later aired on TV during the Triton Super High Roller Series. The hand involved Phua holding Qs Qh and Dwan holding Js Ts on a board of Js 7h 5h 6d 3h. Dwan made a bluff on the river and Phua called, resulting in the massive pot. He owns a lot of casinos in the US. He was already well known in Vegas and private games just not in streams.

It's one thing to lose that much with set over set or A high flush over K high flush, but Eric lost this much with Q high. Oof.

He basically checked the turn with a very small bet. Induced the all in.

Exacly! Great move against Sperwer Persson.
@saintjimmy456 Жыл бұрын
I don't think Patrick was trying to induce an all-in, he looks momentarily surprised when Persson shoves and says "what do you have?" - Persson responds with a chip count, but the way Patrick says it, it sounds like he is asking out loud what hand could possibly go all-in here. He then thinks for 20 seconds before calling. I think the 150k bet is pot control because the board is paired and they are so deep. If the 150k bet was to induce an all-in, he would have snap called.

@@saintjimmy456 Persson line is very weird.Most decent players will not raise on the turn there,so patrick was confused for a moment.

Antonius: Wins the biggest pot ever Doug: I would have checked
@Halibut86 Жыл бұрын
Doug is thinking check/fold? I don't see anyone entering this flop with a 3 so what are we really scared of? Pocket pair? we have kings and aces semi-blocked. MAYBE an ambitious play with jacks or queens? Every other Ace X is blocked by the king kicker... We have the flush draw locked so there are extremely few realistic hands that beat us after the turn

I love min raises where my opponent has put in a beefy bet. They always call and are usually in bad shape when I do it.
@Halibut86 Жыл бұрын
If they really were strong, they should be reraising again no? A minraise signals confidence in the hand since it's the most likely possible option to be called

Spoiler Alert : Each player has half of each other meaning no actual money changed hands. Or, conversely, the stakes are downscaled behind the scenes and the pot is actually 10x smaller

I think an important tell in this video : When the ace hits the turn and Antonious is grabbing chips to bet. Perrsons says “you don’t want to do that”. Which you can’t hear well. But I always watch with subtitle on. This is such a low limit tell. Usually weakness. I kind of have a feeling that Antonious bet that 150k as sort of a blocker or possibly induce a bluff. When he bets 150k. If he flat calls after saying that. He’s obv super weak and on a draw. When he jams all in. It looks like a bluff, since he flat calls the flop 4 bet. Either way I think Antonious has his live tells pegged. Especially that snap reraise on the flop.

Dude…you make me laugh. Love your channel. You have to show the hand that Robl cleans Antonius’s clock later in the session…allowing Robl to cruise to victory. That one is brutal. I remember Antonius flops a set of 9’s and I think Robl hits a flush or straight. Gave over…wasn’t much longer after this hand.
