I think it's very important to acknowledge the fact that Veronica Brill has taken the risk of being outcast by the poker community by being the first one to call out an individual player. That takes balls. I'm sure that decision has taken a hit on her short-term financial state and I hope that new opportunities will present itself for her as she deserves that, really.

Perhaps, although I think quite the opposite if she plays her cards right (pun intended). Any attention of this magnitude is good attention - I never heard of her before the scandal, now myself and probably millions of others know her rather well considering interviews such as these. Fame pays - now she needs to figure out how to monetize her new found fame - book? podcast? Instagram?

@dave himlin who's the sucker? The most they can do is use bots and tell each other what cards they have. They can't see your cards. So although you might get cheated out of some hands, it's mostly just your bluffs that they know you don't have because their buddy folded it. Shouldn't be bluffing so often or to the point you lose anyways. If you're not winning at online poker, it's because you're not good at online poker, not the cheating. Even at the micro stakes, you have higher competition than live games at the low stakes.

53:30-54:00 @ Doug. I agree with Veronica - I think even matusow thinks he’s guilty and took that position in order to get postle to not only come on the podcast but to feel comfortable and open up which actually worked like a charm. I won’t go as far as to say matusow played postle like a fiddle but I think he did in spite of himself (ie without knowing it). If matusow got even slightly aggressive or started to ask tough questions the fish might have got off the hook.
@alesele205 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Mike alluded to thinking he was very guilty but reserved his opinion because if he had taken a hard stance or did anything besides buddy up to Mike that “interview” would have never taken place. Mike P clearly thought Matusow was on his side and felt comfortable talking to him. That being said he could have prepared a lot more then he did and challenge some of the more outrageous claims Mike made.
@TheFlanagan115 жыл бұрын
Have you guys seen the "Imitation Game" with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Alan Turing? They cracked the enigma codes enabling them to intercept and decipher German commands. Upon reading the first few German commands a code breaking character in the film realises that his brother is on a supply ship about to be intercepted by a German U boat. He quickly tries to contact this boat but his colleagues stop him. "We have to be careful how we use this information, otherwise the Germans will discover that we have broken their codes and they'll change them". Basically, Mike Postle winning every single session reminds me of that character in "Imitation Game". Had he been a little smarter he could have lost a few sessions by only tilting the balance slightly towards him. But ultimately he was dumb, and dumb people are no good at poker - which is why he needed to cheat.
@willnestor64225 жыл бұрын
yes indeed. he could have made a few hero calls that were wrong, make a few close calls that were wrong, or bluff a few times on the flop/ turn but give up on the river. all he had to do was not make his play look near perfect and to lose every now and again on purpose then maybe people would not have become suspicious and began to look closer. still however, the way he looks at his phone is extremely suspicious regardless and that alone might have aroused suspicion.
@billygunns85315 жыл бұрын
Mike Postle will be found not guilty of all charges against him. It’s ridiculous to accuse him of cheating without any evidence to support such a claim. He is being singled out by his peers and can no longer enjoy playing poker, because a few sore losers couldn’t stand losing to him. He didn’t force his opponents to fold their hand when he bluffed them, they chose to do it on their own. Time and time again he makes his opponents fold the best hand. No intimidation or threat were needed. And he did it by staring at his crotch!Ultimately, you can’t go into someone’s mind and assume you know what they’re thinking or doing, which is what most of these videos are about. Imagine if this were you, would you want someone accusing you of a serious crime absent of any evidence? As of now, there is not one shred of evidence against him, only conjecture and speculation at best. When Postle is found not guilty, expect him to file defamation cases against the KZbin channels peddling false news stories. And for the record, I don’t know Postle and hope someone slaps that smug smirk off his face.
@TheFlanagan115 жыл бұрын
Billy Gunns I completely agree with you dude. There is zero evidence of cheating and he will totally get away with it, and he may choose to sue these channels but probably won’t because it’s expensive. It is 100% conjecture, as you said.

@@НубикРубик-ш9х 'Innocent until proven guilty' Realize though that is only applicable in a court of law and the government formally punishing someone. Well a bunch of people are analyzing other cash game streams, so there's that. I hope one positive from all this is it brings attention to a lot of the good live stream poker options out there. Don't have to watch 4 year old poker tournaments on sports channels for a fix

@VictoryRoad04 it's only great because it got solved so quickly... or ostensibly solved. I'm really curious to hear how the jury rules. There's still no rock solid caught-you-red-handed proof. I mean, besides the numbers and hands and the hat and CTO lol

We still need to hear how he did it. We need some kind of hilarious apology video. Maybe we'll even get details from the lawsuit and inevitable settlement, and if they find grounds for a criminal case who knows what evidence could turn up! Just wait, there's more to come.

About the Postle hand with the wrong graphics, I've noticed something weird in another Postle vid (kzbin.info/www/bejne/epWxk5qffb94nMk), at 22:40 there's 2 people at the table with King of clubs, so something really weird is going on with the graphics over there

one amazing guy made a video of himself watching the streams simply to watch Postles mannerisms and behavior and how he played over time. in the streams that he watched that prior to July 18, 2018, Postles phone was always visible on the table, he sat kinda sideways, he never stared at his crotch, and he made bad calls and would lose. July 18, 2018 was the day that he put the phone between his legs, it was never seen on the table again, he started constantly staring at his crotch during every hand, and never made a bad move. so that is the day that Operation Cheat went live- July 18, 2018.

isnt there a California Gaming Board or Commission that could or would have to launch an investigation?!! they could subpoena the phone records of Postle and JFK to see the times of their text messages and see if they were constantly texting each other during stream times.

Ok here is incredible stats for example of playing 1/3 with no straddle & he buys in for $1k for each session = 333BB ! Now he’s made over $300k in 87 days only of poker of 6 hours of streamed poker. This means eg. He has Won 99,900,000 BB OR 99,000 Buy ins!! Astronomical ODDS. We know he plays higher but Stones favourite is $1/3. I’d love to earn $300,000 for 87 days work averaging 6 hours per day!! Incredible & Mike Postle is a Scammer in my opinion!!

The video you posted when only two of the four cards were showing clearly shows he is trying to rescan his cards to see if everyone’s hole cards will somehow magically be shown. Since he has cost real people real cash it is safe to say many people where I grew up in New York ended up in the East or Hudson River for far less. He is with people who will hold a grudge and maybe do him permanent damage. Time for him to disappear before someone disappears him. Trying to rescan his cards. How did he know all 4 were not showing? Simple he checked his phone. Dead man walking.

The Polk / DNegs Grudge Match with her as commentator reminded me of this. She has such a ring of truth and stood almost alone for far too long. Now, the idiotic court system is siding with the wrong side "apparently". Makes no sense. It's amazing to watch her strength and courage in attacking this alone--after being told she was wrong. Smart tough lady. (And I left alone how completely attractive she is--lol)

Hey Doug. Thanks for posting such awesome coverage of this story. Another factor which seems to really indicate he cheated is how stupid some of his explanations for previous hands are: "The story for that hand was I decided I'm not folding tonight.....", "I had a lot of wine that night so I folded a strong hand....", "I can't remember but he did something that made me think he has a strong hand....". My girlfriend knows nothing about poker but overheard me listening to him speak in an interview and she said, "The person you are listening to sounds like they have a low IQ". He is unable to even remotely break down a hand properly. He has made some of the best poker plays on televised poker and his explanations demonstrate how distinctly below average his thinking ability is. The guy can't even make up a remotely serious breakdown of a hand. The greatest poker plays were the result of a joke or dare among poker friends. Bullshit. After hearing him speak I will eat my left arm if he is not guilty!

They were saying too that he never ever called on the river. Which NEVER happens at a real game. The only reason for this is he knows he has the best hand, or, he knows his opponent is too weak to call a large bet.

I guess I'd make a good criminal: if I were running this scam, I'd have the RF ID cards at a NON live-stream table. Think about it. It could last forever and NEVER be caught on to. Players would have no clue they were playing with RF ID cards and the theft would be endless.... The TDA and major poker organizations need to take a hard look at this and cast a MUCH wider net. If RF ID cards can be read real-time by a wireless device (which it sure seems like they can be based on the evidence presented so far), the poker community as a whole needs to reassess use of these cards. This potentially could be a much bigger problem than just this circumstance where the participants were too stupid, attention-starved and greedy to avoid discovery.

I do have to say frankly that I think some amazing hand reading is more possible than Doug likes to credit (although certainly not possible to the level that the Postle hands shown by Doug in all his videos shows). My problem is that Postle seems to make no EFFORT toward reading people -- and yeah, he's more interested in looking at his lap when he makes these miracle reads than he is with looking at the person he's supposed to be reading. There are LOADS of video examples which -- without any commentary explicitly saying so -- show people doing their best to read a hand; quite a few of the top players seem to do this very well, even when their play nevertheless ends up looking quite in line with GTO. You can tell when someone is trying to make a decision where part of the calculus includes some sort of a hand read or indication of a read. I NEVER see any of that cogitation going on with Postle.
@Samscoinsandheavymetal5 жыл бұрын
GetMeThere1 Sorry but .. you’re totally lost dude. Live reads? 3 and 4 b river bluffs with 8 high with 1/4 pot bets. Lead jamming with mid/bottom pair no kicker after flatting 3 or 4b pre No cash game player is ever making plays like this without getting stacked more than zero times. Making zero incorrect river calls over 300 hours/60+ sessions is slightly (yea, sarcasm for those who’ve been constapated for the past 6 months), suspect too. Time to Wake up

Veronica is very cute! She's also smart and fun, as evidenced by the fact that she is into poker. However, I think we are too far apart with regards to our religious and political views. It's not going to work out. I'm going to have to break it off with her, sadly. Veronica probably won't be that affected by being dumped, mainly because she doesn't know we've been dating.

It would not surprise me if this Mike Postle disappears. Either stops playing and goes away or things get really deep and / or once he gets notified that the police are looking into this. The casino will eventually want to get to the bottom of this because there are liabilities. No one will want to play at stones if they get called out for allowing cheating at their facility.

"GTO doesn't exist" HAHAHA!! They actually teach poker theory at MIT, and Game theory, is it's own scientific system based on strategic mathematical crossroads. It's applied to all types of games, and involves building a counter strategy model on your opponents by using their own strategies against them....other than that, it doesn't exist. I mean what do all those "nerdy math guys " even know right?
