Impressive, interesting, & another inspirational setting! You don''t have to be OLD to enjoy a nap in the woods! During the 1950s, after school I would often venture into the woods behind our house in search of a pine thicket where I often fell asleep on pine straw as song birds & a gentle breeze lulled me to sleep! There is no age limit in enjoying God's beautiful Creation; & a nice sleeping bag enhaces the blessing! That looks like a nice sleeping bag! To God be the glory! Blesings on you & yours!

I've tried most sleeping bags from 1960 on. Honestly, I don't think there has ever, EVER been a better sleeping bag than the 2010 four-season modular USGI sleep system. Durability is unreal (built for combat sits), over-engineered in every way possible and made to be used within a shelter or, if you don't have that option, to be your own cocoon in sub-arctic temps and conditions. And it IS that good.

That looks like an extremely comfortable sleeping bag. You should have an indoor/outdoor thermometer with the sensor in the bag with you to see how much warmth is gained during cold temperatures. I'm 100 percent with you about wanting/needing a nap. 😑

That's a great idea about putting a thermometer in the bag with me. Thank you.

We have a store here in Australia called "Anaconda". I guess it's similar to a store I went to in the states called REI but maybe a wider range. I don't remember exactly what REI's range was as I was only interested in climbing gear at the time and didn't take much notice of anything else. Anyway, I purchased two of their store brand sleeping bags. One summer, one winter. I don't remember what they cost but the were reasonably priced. One had a comfort level of +10c and the other for -2c. To be honest though, I haven't really put the winter bag through a real test yet. I need a cold winter and a 4 hour drive southwest of here to give it a good test.

Pastor Doug, although I have already commented on the Kamperbox, I have a QUESTION: for outdoorsmen whose limited income prohibits purchase of some of the extremely nice equipment that you field-test & introduce, can you suggest some economical & equivalent alternatives? Personally, I have turned to military surplus, thrift stores, & another source called "Unclaimed Baggage" in Scottsboro, AL. I have also utilized some Do-it-yourself generic sleep systems & other camping gear options. Thanks again for all the valuable information & field tests which you share. I appreciate your investment of time, energy, personal experience & expense, & ALL the inspirational conclusions to your videos. Pastor George

What's the reason you are gonna wait a long time to do thr Altoid overnight? Not trying to be rude but I'm curious
@DougShoeBushcraft21 күн бұрын
I missed my window for filming this year due to circumstances. It gets into personal family things, so I don't post specifics in the comments. I have the basic concept for the video. Filming is now scheduled for spring or summer 2025
@frankyturrizo424021 күн бұрын
@DougShoeBushcraft ohhh OK, so you have a lot of other videos planned before you do the Altoid thing?
@DougShoeBushcraft21 күн бұрын
@@frankyturrizo4240 No. It's more that I have a vision for the Altoid video in the White Mts during spring/summer. I have somewhat similar videos for winter survival with limited gear, so I wanted to mix it up.

It gets down to 0 degrees F and below here in NH, USA. It's a down bag. They don't have to be as bulky as polyester fill, for example.
