Pastor Doug, it is obvious that your grief is very deep, but God's grace is sufficient. Many folks do not realize that we pastors are just as human as they are. You are very correct in saying that some feeling cannot be expressed in words. The Scripture which you shared is also one of my favorites. As we grope with grief, it is helpful to remember that we are gripped by Grace! May God bless you & your family; we share your grief. You have honored them in a very meaningful way. Doug, sorry for your loss of loved ones. I commend your way of honoring them. As a fellow descendant of Scottish ancestors I recently learned an ancient Gaelic word that brings me solace and strength. The word is spelled diongmhalt but pronounced jee-ong- vault. It translates to hold the line or stand your ground. God be with you Doug.

Sorry about the loss of your cousin, mother, uncles, and others. I know the cancer battle personally. I respect your decision to honor your mother's clan. My Native American heritage is something I'm learning more about and has given me the desire to share my heritage with my children and grandchildren. It's important to know family history good or bad because we can learn from both. Thanks for sharing your personal grief to remind us of the importance of leaning on God for strength.

It's never easy to watch family and loved ones failing and eventually passing. It always breaks my heart knowing that I can't stop the inevitable. What angers me most are those without any empathy whatsoever. GOD BLESS.
