Dutch fashion model Doutzen Kroes (Victoria Secrets, etc.) is asked on a Dutch talk show 'are you ever feeling ashamed for being Dutch?'. She replies with 'Yes, I am ashamed of Zwarte Piet'. Then she gets laughed at by the other people at the table, including Jan Pronk - former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation. Kroes asks 'how do you explain this to say a black person from Jaiamcan?' where Pronk replies with 'Look, we have our traditions, they have theirs. I do not see this as a problem at all'
