@@JamEast wow, I did not know that. I think the one I was referring to in my comment above was actually another Doves song “Black and White Town”. I realised this after I commented. It was not in a special, just a regular episode, can’t remember exactly which one, but it was one of their early episodes from 2002/2003 I think. Clarkson was wearing his brown sheepskin leather jacket and talking to the camera in a car but can’t remember the model name and make of the car. Oh well. Anyway thanks for letting me know about that.

This song combined with its incredibly atmospheric/romantic video is very moving and quite heart wrenching. A son taking a long, long drive to spread his parents ashes, a final drive with that parent in the car with him in spirit. The little flashback to his childhood at the end of the pier the perfect addition to set the sad scene.

seeing them in less than two weeks, in a 400 capacity venue and their first gig in 7-8 years... sending lots of love to Jimi, be singing your name fella... and giving Andy & Jez all the harmonies they want !! BEYOND excited 😃

Wow. Haven't heard this is in a long time. Reminds me so much of roaming over the moors, driving between Manchester and the coasts over there, across from Colne and Skipton and that side. Long drives with the music cranked up, bleak and beautiful times 🖤

Man! I can listen to the last 60 seconds of this song for hours. The verse is great but the chorus us where it's at! That guitar and bells part!! Mmmmmm so good.

I hear a sound A sound above my head Distant sound of thunder Moving out on the moor Blackbirds flew in Into the cooling towers I'll pack my bags Thinking of one of those hours With you Waiting for you My god It takes an ocean of trust In the Kingdom of Rust I long to feel Some beauty in my heart As I go searching Right to the start The road back to Preston Was covered all in snow As I went looking For that stolen heart For you Waiting for you My god It takes an ocean of trust Takes an effort, it does My god It takes an ocean of trust It's in the Kingdom of Rust In the Kingdom of Rust I long to feel That wince in my heart As I went looking I couldn't stop Now I'm Waiting for you I know It takes an ocean of trust In the Kingdom of Rust

I decided to listen to this song because of Neil, and after the first note. I just ... God, I'm crying. Why this song is so beautiful? And video too. Adorable sadness.

I'm from the North of England, Preston in fact, which is mentioned in the song, but I don't live in the North anymore. This song brings back so many childhood memories of going for walks with my parents in the hills when it snowed. It had that rugged beauty which this song really evokes.
