I'd like to thank each and every one of you who take the time to watch DtC, and am very grateful to everyone who takes even more time out of their day to comment. In a perfect world Tom or Ob would be able to engage with everyone in the comment section, but alas the world is far from perfect. Tom doesn't know how (and refuses to learn) and Ob is something of a Luddite.

A: An email sent directly to Tom is the best way to get your question answered, because while he most definitely reads each and every one of your comments, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of replying to them in the comment section, and is not likely to in the foreseeable future. Or ever. Seriously, he still calls KZbin "the U-TOOBZ".

I think a series of videos on fakes is in order. This would be educational and overdue for the collecting community. Fakes are so abundant and widespread, a serious discussion is necessary. It seems to be getting worse and and worse and may be threatening to the hobby. Many collectors can stomach getting stung once, but after two or three times, they jump out of the collecting community. It would be great to invite other experts in the collecting world. If they brought good and bad examples for teaching purposes.

What do you expect? The third Reich collapsed nearly 80 years ago. You will not find any more equipment, medals tunics, daggers helmets, et cetera, most nice originals are all in collections! Why would anybody want to sell an original double deck SS M35 helmet or an original SS honour dagger unless they’re desperate for money? You can’t exactly go down to the SS dagger shop and buy another one can you? So what’s left is being touted around the military fairs in both Europe, and the states for decades! I started collecting and dealing 30 years ago in the UK, and you had all the dodgy scumbags around then but most of them are dead or retired now but with some exceptions, they are now being run by members of their families, such as regimentals, that was previously owned by Malcolm Fisher and is now run by his fat bastard son who if it was possible would shit diamonds! You would have a point, but today collecting third, Reich is just nonsensical unless you know the original history, and in that respect, you will need to be very lucky and very wealthy to trust what you’re buying! This has never been a hobby for people with low incomes! This is a business which makes hundreds of millions and a lot of it goes into the drug trade especially in eastern Europe. I know of people who have walked into situations where they thought they were buying something special and ended up being robbed and left for dead, this isn’t really a hobby. This is just a money, making Business!

I really like the Army (Heer) dagger in the Luftwaffe scabbard with the Army hangers - I agree it should stay the way the vet brought it home from the War. Hamilton, GA is north of Columbus on the Alabama border & Snellville, GA is north of Stone Mountain on Hwy. 78 south of Athens.

Tom; The Christmas pool tourney is such a great idea in that it gets the family under one roof for the holidays.
