I like to see the counterfeits and the explanation on how one can tell. That is valuable information if it saves someone a lot of money because those daggers are not cheap.

I think that even if an object turns out to be a replica, it is rewarding when you also give a small talk about them for pure study purposes.👀

I’d like to know how much a fake can go for. It still a nice piece. For a beginner collector, is it a good choice ? Not to break the bank -and enjoy a bit of the past. 😮

The Stahlhelm, Association of Front Soldiers was a military association during the Weimar Republic that was founded shortly after the end of the First World War on December 25, 1918 by the reserve officer Franz Seldte in Magdeburg. Seldte was chairman of the association together with Theodor Duesterberg. It was considered to be close to the anti-democratic German National People's Party (DNVP), so the Stahlhelm often provided (armed) hall protection at their party meetings.

As the locater of Dr. Morell's pocket watch presented by Hitler I can add a few bits. A few, very expensive gold pocket watches were originally purchased by the NSDAP party in the 1930's. The watches had an alarm function that chimed. The soldier mentioned by Mr. Wittmann was indeed, assigned to the 321st Glider Field Artillery of the 101st Airborne Division. His assignment was to guard an extremely rare electron microscope in Dr. Morell's office at Hitler's Berchtesgaden home. That watch only survives due to a twist of fate, the 321st soldier who brought it back allowed his small-town jeweler to display the watch at his shop in the front window. A house fire destroyed all the other souvenirs which were brought back from Berchtesgaden, including a hoard of Hitler silverware.

I admire how beautifully designed German artifacts are. Just top quality in everything they made. The Japanese artifacts my father brought back from the Philippines looks like cheap junk compared to the German stuff you handle.

As one of the top online sellers of German WW2 photos, postcards and paper items since 2001, I've made a small fortune off of cigarette cards and cigarette albums over the years. As the supply keeps drying up, they'll fetch premium prices in another 5 years. In 2022 I got a hold of a complete set of the adolf H. cigarette photos for the orange album, still in their original packages, and then still inside the original packaging from 1938 when the German guy bought them from the zigaretten company. They looked like they were just printed and all were in mint condition and brought good money on ebay and whatnot.

I don't want to see good items coming in all the time. Whatever comes in that's the way it goes. If you had great stuff all the time I'd be suspicious that the unboxing would be a set up.
