Carl Fogarty a fantastic one of our most iconic riders an absolute star of the sport who comes over as a very honest straight down to earth guy superb 👌👍

I'll stick my neck out here and say that between Carl dominating WSBK on the 916 and the great racing we had at the same time in BSB, it helped revitalise British motorcycling back in the mid 90s.

Great interview, always love listening to Carl. Big part of my motorcycling life watching him win in the 90's at Donnington, Brands at the TT and the Bol'dor.👍

What a great time that was watching WSB, I saw every race live on tv, use to go up in the middle of the night to watch some of them, I was watching the MotoGP also, still have since 89, but MotoGP got a bit dull with Honda and Doohan dominating for so many years, so that WSB was so great at the time was marvelous, also loved the format with two races, gave the runners up a chance to win the next one. I was more of a Scott Russel fan and love the look of the racing green Muzzy Kawasaki, that green color really popped, also the rivalry between Russel and Fogarty was great, even Russel was my man I always liked Carl, he was an outstanding rider and fully deserved his championship wins. Great interview this 👍🏻 Looking forward to the next one.

Great Interview, Thanks to all involved and of course, Keith is a Class Act ! p.d This might be like a Dentist session for the King: Scary, but you feel relieved at the end. His expression at min. 43:52 is very telling !

Glad to see Carl's not a tax exile. (or a Davos elite, I hope?) Imagined it might be him that burned the speed camera on the A59, but it was probably the Gypos up the road at Clayton-le-dale? Good one Carl.

Thats the era Superbikes got its deserved reputation as being better than GP, as Foggy said. It continued since, but isn't true, but was then, and Foggy was just an awesome figure amongst it. Him and the 916 are synonymous. Would like the question who he rated amongst that era of superbike riders. I remember Foggy being asked what he thought when he followed Gobert around, and he answered, where he's going to park it. For mine Foggy and Gobert were the two greatest superbike riders, Foggy more successful of course, and enigmatic. Bayliss replaced Foggy and he was amazing too.

He mentioned in another chat like this that he rates Slight as the hardest guy to beat (and that he would've won a world championship if he hadn't stuck with Honda)

It makes me laugh when people talk about THE GOAT, and say Rossie, Doohan, Surtees, Hailwoods, Dunlop etc etc. For me Foggy is up amongst them,,, 4 WC and TT success.

It's funny when I see Carl and Keith talking I allways remember watching wsbk race 1 at hokenheim 96 Carl got a terrible start he was swapping places with Paulo cassoli I think it was in mid pack and Keith was saying Foggy is a shadow of his former self and how his team mate Arron slight was doing a much better job I wonder has Carl ever heard that I bet he'd knock Keith out if he did 😂

Was a great admirer of Carl back in the day; I remember a day at Donington at World Superbikes when Corser had got away early in the race and a couple of girls in the stand were shouting for Corser every lap. Once Carl had started to recover from a less than good start I started shouthing to them "Carl is coming". Needless to say Carl caught Corser and won the race so I didn't get Xmas cards from those girls. I saw the accident that finished his career live on TV and was totally ticked off with the other rider. When Carl's book came out i took time out to visit the local W H Smiths where he was signing copies, for a fee of course. I was very disappointed to find Carl disinterested and grumpy about taking our cash. Stuck with me as much as his achievements.

Motorbike racing needs characters like Carl Foggerty or Guy Martin. Without stand out characters like these men , motorbike racing would be a bit mediocre. For example, look at the way Valentino Rossi made a massive difference to the spectator attendance numbers at MotoGp races.
