Awesome review! I have both Gen 1 & 2 Adamas, both are great hard use knives and will last for years. I've had springs broke on me on several other Benchmade knives I have but Benchmade always took care of it no problem. Thanks for sharing brother!

Most of my edc folders dont have serrations. I've always hated that i ordered the wrong models. I use the saw on my leatherman frequently. I've been carrying a bm 555 for the past 2 years, and it has done a fantastic job.... 🤷🏽 id like for it to have serrations

Now thats a adamas thats how knives should look

I have a 575 and a 273. It seems the axis lock is larger on the 575, and i wish the 273 had the same size

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I have yet to own any Cold Steel Knives. In order for me to test that, I would have to daily one for 7 years.

@@LevelOneGoon Thanks for the quick reply. Do you plan on doing a second review with the gen 2? If not, can you tell me how it’s held up compared to gen 1?
@LevelOneGoon2 жыл бұрын
@@azoto3671 No problem! It has held up great thus far! I'm very impressed, and honestly my favorite part about carrying it is the weight. The couple Ozs less make more of a difference than you think. Much more comfortable.

@@LevelOneGoon does your Axis lock fail when battoning? I can fail (blade falls closed) even when hitting the but of the knife on concrete. Love the knife, but I don’t totally trust the springs in the Axis lock…
@LevelOneGoon2 жыл бұрын
@@jay_motocombat I've never had the axis fail on me it sounds like you may have received a faulty knife.

First adamas well used for years and you want to be a coward and baby the second adamas because of some initials? Kinda BS there. Use it.
@LevelOneGoon5 ай бұрын
Not a coward. If I were a coward the first knife would've never been used. My current occupation does not require me to use a knife near as often.
@jvernonlusung62402 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, you have also been egregiously abusing the pronunciation of the word Adamas for the past 7 plus years, which is quite intolerable given how you profess to be a Benchmade aficionado of sorts. The name is based on the Greek word for diamond and refers to something unconquerable and indestructible. It is pronounced as Uh-DAHM-uhss (accent on the second syllable) and definitely NOT your cringeworthy "Adam Ass" perv-version. At the very least, listen to how the designer, Shane Sibert, intended it to be spoken.

They suck. A crap design for tacticlowns. It has disproportionate blade dimensions. A swedge that isn't a swedge. There is zero reason to swedge a knife that doesn't have a thrusting point. The blade should be wider with more belly to match the finger guard/choil area. The lock-up, for a heavier knife, has too much play. There are import knives that cost half as much with better lock-up. The blade is too thick for a sub 4 inch blade. It isn't an efficient slicer. It isn't an efficient thruster/piercer. A PM2 outperforms it in everyway, other than being a heavier beater.
@LevelOneGoon Жыл бұрын
It sounds like your not a fan of this knife. I have to say so far I've not had any issues with the knife. It has continued to serve me well as my most used edc.
