For me it's Rush 1974 to 1981 and Coroner everything they did. Technical perfectionism.

No More Color and Mental Vortex are two of my favorite metal records. BTW, "D.O.A." usually stands for dead on arrival, not "dead or alive". Im stoked they got back together and hope they get to NYC. haven't seen them since around '91-92. Great band.

I bought "Mental Vortex" on tape when it first came out. I lived in a very small town that only had 1 record store. Whenever a new album came out that wasn't top 40 they would have it on sale the first week for $6.99 on cassette. I was instantly hooked. I discovered a ton of great metal bands that way. From Death, Pantera, Sacred Reich, Xentrix, Obituary, Atrophy, Nuclear Assault, Sepultura, etc. I was so into metal back around 1987 until around 1992. Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, M.O.D., D.R.I., Slayer, Danzig, Cro-Mags Sickofitall,, and a ton of hardcore punk bands. Oh, and King Diamond. I loved King Diamond's "Them" and "The Eye". I was the only King Diamond fan in that little town.

@paul.theeightiesluvr.1945 Sacred Reich was so underrated. "The American Way" is great through the whole album Definitely in the my Top 10 Metal albums of all time. Along with ",Danzig II: Lucifuge, Metal Church "The Human Factor", Obituary "Cause of Death", Slayer "South of Heaven", Iron Maidens "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", Nuclear Assault "Handle with Care", Metallica "Master of Puppets" and Pantera "Vulgar Display of Power."

Great to hear another Coroner fan nerding out. For me Punishment for Decadence's 'correct' cover is the violin playing skeleton. Gotta agree with the record company on that one. I only ever knew there was a different one like a month ago. I'm like, 'the hell is this?' The sculptures are fine, but it's just not the same.

It's so great to see footage that just wasn't available le to me as a rabid fan in Ireland at the time. They had virtually no coverage in UK mags. I remember my brother worked in a drum shop and beaking of school one Friday to meet him. He was playing No More Colour when I arrived. My life changed.

TY for this, loved Coroner since high school in the late 80's but never heard much of their "lore." Saw them last year, it was incredible. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if they played in E standard like the old days, but y'know, older guitarists like playing in D standard for the lower string tension.

Marky is such an underrated drummer. Will be hard to come close to his genius when the album hits. He had a very groove and unique playstyle. While being tight, he always conveyed some kind of urgency. Something you may not notice, but makes this whole music unique on another level

Kinda funny how all the attention is on Marky and Tommy and Nice Guy Ron just sits there, smiling. Watched them and met them a couple of times in the last few years and Ron is the guy I always love to talk with (mostly about Rush, haha), though Tommy seems like the most talkative/communicative of them all, actually. I remember I gave Marky to sign me my Apollyon Sun "Sub" CD and he was like "WTF? Who heard of or listens to this in 2012?", laughing. Than we talked a bit about some 8-bit Coroner covers on the internet and he got really itchy to go listen how those sound. This is my favorite band and by far. I love each and every record with (ironically) "Grin" there at the top and "Punishment..." actually at the bottom, haha.

In 1987, when I was 15, a friend of mine came home to Louisiana from the Summer in Germany with a copy of "Punishment" and "Colour" on cassette. He made his parents stop at my house ON THEIR WAY HOME FROM THE AIRPORT, put them in my hands and my life was changed forever. I wore out 3 copies of "Vortex" by 1992.

An amazing band, so technically and conceptually ahead of it’s time. Without a doubt one of my all time favs, Punishment for Decadence and No More Colour got my into them after seeing Masked Jackal on a show called Rage in ‘89 as a 14 yr old in Sydney… love my thrash and these guys are legends for me… Mental Vortex and Grin continued the amazing evolution… I loved their progression personally! Been waiting for the new album since 2017, guys I beg you please release it one day I’ll be one of my he first in line to buy it d/l it! ;)

You did a stellar job on this downfall Network I love your approach in this video as you give the facts of the group in the best possible way and that is with your opinion on things I also love mental Vortex and it's my favorite album and I love the song metamorphosis I was like you were I thought it was just going to be a boring band I can't believe I never got into him in the 80s, 80s freak I love Slayer Megadeth and yes Celtic Frost but I gave this band a chance because I seen them on rock festival from 2018 I believe when I heard the song metamorphosis I was smitten as it kicked my ass thoroughly and I wanted more the next one I want is Rip gold-plated Edition there's a killer place where I live in Seattle called silver platter records and they have every CD you could possibly want practically they also have the second album gold-plated I'm going to buy that one as well I want every single one of them the one I'm a little skeptical about is the album grin I'm going to purchase it as well I want all five of their discography and I do want to get the first unofficial album as well mainly because Tom G Warrior from Celtic Frost is singing on songs one two and four I believe and I'm a huge Celtic Frost band and also a corner fan for life and also a fan of downfall networks your channel is awesome keep it coming man🎉❤😊

I tend to look at the compilation album like an EP and throw out all the not new songs. They also have a trippy electronic style album called the unknown which is cool if you're into their more ambient soundscape shit. Also I'm with Marky, they shouldn't make a new album and fuck up what's near to a perfect discography.
@HeavyMetalNerd10 ай бұрын
What I like about an album like "Punishment For Decadence" is the fact that even though they really are playing brutal and proggy thrash metal they still are kinda straightforward, unlike Voivod or so. Also they sound very sharp and clean like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax or Testament and not all over the place like early Kreator,early Sodom, Voivod, Virus, early Sepultura or Wehrmacht. Don't get me wrong, I also like me some crusty, snarling production but this is cool,too.

Grin is a masterpiece. Funny that Tommy played in the horrible Kreator era, because he got Grin right. Grin was a breath of fresh air is a genera that was getting stale quite honestly, and of course imploded around this time. It gets way too little recognition. It was great of them to push the envelope and make an album like Grin.
