I have been looking for a workout routine to build strength and stamina for mtb riding for ages and you have answer most of the questions I had except one, is there an age where you need to maybe not push yourself so hard or can you just go crazy!, The reason I ask is because I am 53 years young and I have picked up a lot of injury's over the years from a broken pelvis, femar, arms and also separated my clavical joints in my shoulders I still workout with weights but I have to be mind full of my injury's. p.s your vid's are the real deal man many thanks.

Ian Foster there’s no real upper age for “pushing it”. It’s all relative especially when you consider intensity levels. The main thing to consider is recovery - you will recover slower as you get older, prioritise recovery and listen to your body,

Work up to a heavy set (20m) walking lunge with press, then 3 more sets lighter for volume.
