Come on how many movies were from other countries? It’s been happening for a long time it’s still enjoyable. I like the original and this version. I watched both versions of death at a funeral, both versions of the office. Truth is most people haven’t heard of Force Majeure and would have never seen it. This gave people a chance to watch a version of it that was still delightful. So yeah just don’t be that guy.

Uh, I hate to say it. But for those who’ve seen the movie this is a remake of, Force Majeure, you know the tone of this trailer is completely wrong. The original movie was an emotionally intense film that asked some serious questions about people and how they handle themselves in horrific situations. This movie looks like it’s taking that premise and turns it into a goofy comedy or something, with only some inklings of what the original movie was about. I hope this isn’t what the actual movie is like though.

Visuals For You Definitely check it out. It’s subtle and beautifully Scandinavian and not nearly as heavy handed as this film appears to be. Will Ferrell is more of a loud slapstick kind of guy, so that’s kind of what you get.

And the only award that he managed to win was the Kids Choice Awards. His movies never bores me. He always gave me a good laugh. And I think his movies were great. It's quite sad that most critics gave his movies invariably low ratings. People should appreciate his effort. Doing comedy is not easy. I do not understand for a moment the negative comments I've read here. I can only presume that some people have developed an expectation when it comes to Will Farrell that they need to be rolling on the floor splitting their sides with laughter when he hits the screen, but this movie is not about that. This is one of the most brilliant films I've seen in quite some time. It depicts real life in a way that few films can come close to. History will be the judge of this film, and it will be greatly honored in the end. The writing and directing was excellent, and the acting by all actors was second to none, particularly the part Julia Louis-Dreyfus played, and I am not usually a fan of hers. At my age I use adjectives such as Brilliant very sparingly, but in this case, it is well deserved as I see things. This is my personal opinion, and everyone has a right to his/her opinion. Thank you to all involved in the making of this movie, and thank you for reading my comment.

I think most complaints are between 2 options: 1: The original Swedish movie ''Turist / Force Majeure'' is a good movie already, but somehow it needs to be 'Americanized' by Hollywood. Guess reading subtitles is too hard or difficult? Or it needs to be more 'entertaining/dumbed down' ? (this is my reason to dislike it, although I really like Will Ferrel) 2: People haven't heard of the original let alone seen it, and see Will Ferrel and assume it's a comedy. I haven't seen this version of the movie but if it's anywhere near the original,,,,yeah they're going to have a bad time..

if you notice a large blast wave from the pipe in the grounded started it. They are triggered multiple times a year to keep a real big one from starting naturally. The one in this film was in a documentary also about how those cannons work so its been filmed a lot.

My wife was saving movies for us to watch on the DVR. She said this one had Will Ferrell in it. I replied that not all his movies are funny. This would fit quite well on the not funny list. Suffice to say, it's mostly an hour and a half of not liking anyone in the movie with a lot of uncomfortable moments. being a fan of the original film, I was skeptical of this as a remake... but now I realize that this is a premise that could really thrive on being remade in different countries and thereby exploring accepted gender roles specific to respective cultures. I thought Julia Louie Dreyfus was great in this take on the premise and there are some interesting ideas played with that are not in the original. The conclusion is quite different as well. I'd suggest it's sneakily darker than the conclusion of the original... and things are not wrapped up neatly. Obviously, the tone is going to lean more towards what Americans might enjoy more and the dialogue tends to be more on-the-nose, but it's nowhere near as WACKY as the trailer made it look. The movie is still a dryly comic drama in which certain moments still cut even though I knew what was going to happen.

This is the first review I've seen that seems respectable. I feel like most people saw the two main actors and assumed the type of comedy that the movie would have. I think it is so disrespectful to expect an actor to play the same role over and over. It's their craft and if they want to expand their reach, people should be open to it.
