@@satanfornoskit it means that nvidia enabled RE-BAR in this specific game via driver profiles. if game isn't supported, re-bar is disabled. So LTT's testing methodology is meaningless. Nvidia does enable re-bar only in games that will see performance benefit. Games that are not enabled by nvidia could see performance regression or no difference. But we will not see that regression EXCEPT if we'll manually force re-bar enabled for an unsupported game in Nvidia inspector (which is clearly not what LTT did, they just compared OFF to OFF and produce wrong conclusions)

Well, for those who want to understand the good ol' "chocolate trick" then this is how it _breaks down_ : You get the "extra piece" from the expense of chocolate bar's full length. The extra piece comes from the diagonal cut, as it would otherwise leave a small gap across the chocolate bar, but the illusion here is to tighten the gap. The total body ratio of chocolate shrinks just enough to produce the extra bite :) Enjoy my dear fellow viewers!

THANK YOU LINUS!!! I have the MSI ventus x3 OC PLUS edition 3080 with GDDR6X vram and with NO overclocking I am now able to run Assassins creed Valhalla at an average of 65 FPS on ultra settings and I get a solid 60fps with Vsync on with triple buffering enabled. That's the same as a TI as far as I know. THANK YOU. lol so happy.

2023 speaking here. Just upgraded from an rtx2060oc to an AMD rx6700xt. I have an i5 10600kf CPU. Was able to find a month old bios update that allowed the addition of resizable Bar. This has shown in game with an uplift from 129fps to 179 fps in warzone 2. Needless to say I'm very excited. Whatever they've done with the bios was very successful and I have clear control of turning it off and on in adrenalin tuning app. As an NVIDIA convert who was just ready to try a different product with more v ram instead of overpaying for an 8gb 40 series card, I'm very happy, and I haven't even hit any memory buffer issues to need the 12 gigs yet. You'd be disappointed without resizable bar, though. And for my motherboard, a z490 ASRock phantom gaming model, the bios update for 'clever access memory' as they call it, only just came out a month ago.

I understand the reasoning for using relative numbers, i still think it is flawed when using it in this context. Since (as i remember) Nvidia has higher absolute framerates out of the box, this means they have to pull higher absolute gains to have the same relative improvement. I think it would be fine in a purely Nvidia or purely AMD focused video. But since this is clearly a comparison between the two companies' implementation, at least mention or show the absolute gains to make sure this bias is understood by the viewer. I don't have the absolute numbers in memory, as probably most others here. So this video gives the impression AMD has a slight edge, while at least i am not sure Nvidia does not has the same absolute gains. So please, watch out for this kind of methodical biases and shortfalls. Other than that, really interesting topic and overall balanced and fair comparison. At least with LTT i don't have the feeling such a thing is not intentional to make one or the other look better :)

Isn't this basically what better drivers have been supposed to do in theory this whole time already, lol? When a driver is coded properly, of course. You download a new one, boom, extra performance/better support and compatibility. Doesn't always work like that in reality, of course -- sometimes a newer driver breaks older things or is a botched driver version which is quickly fixed/replaced -- but yea. 2:00 Also, I had an X800 XT PE back in the day. That hits my nostalgia for sure, seeing that pop up, back when Far Cry 1 and Doom 3 were the pinnacle of titles to test your new card with, haha ;)

I think the relative graphs would benefit from actually being made to look relative. There's a graph (I forget its name now) that's a centered vertical bar and then the actual changes extend as bar graphs to the left/right sides to communicate -X and +X changes respectively, so the 102% would simply look as +2% and the 97% would just show up as -3%.

Cha I want to go back in time to me in 2018 and tell my dumber self to wait just a little longer, cause I am on a newer X570 as it offers room to grow originally I had a B450 but then Gen 4 PCIE suddenly existed... I am still stuck with Ryzen 5 2600x cause it was the best option in 2018 for a good rig and was a steal, and then I nabbed a RTX 2070 thinking I'd be good for at least at least a few years... Now everything is so damm expensive... I am stuck... As well... Fortunately my Rig works fine for now... Thank you covid economy. Liked your Comment...>
