That at the end was, in fact, not intended. All you had to do was use thr funnel to pull the gel and drop it on the cube (hence the name "downpour"). The rest was exactly as intended. Thank you for playing.
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
Hey cappucci, thank you so much for making and sending this one, ah the proper solution makes more sense then, i guess i could of used that high up panel in the exit room to replace the portal and drop the gel on the cube. if you made the mesh wall slightly smaller, reduce it from the left then my wrong solution wouldn't work as the player wouldn't have enough time to get on to the elevator. Really big thank you again, and thank you for supporting me!

I'd believe the cleansing gel was water if it didn't have the same viscosity as the other gels. Its just unnatural how that blob of "water" jiggles and bounces the same way that the other gels do.
@farawaygaming_2 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's just water that has been gel-ified
@gavinleonard48482 жыл бұрын
It probably is mainly water, it Is shown at the end when the sprinklers turn on, and sprinklers usually spray water
@ahmetdag56002 жыл бұрын
The gels are soluble in water. Water had been used In two blue gel tests on underground levels and from sprinklers at ending sequence. In portal stories Mel it had been used for more purposes such as fire extinguishing. So cleansing gel does not exist it is just water.
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
i have to agree with @klunky , it's just a little to thick to be purely water, Aperture is known for it's rather unorthodox products so there has to be something dodgy with the "water"
@HugoBDesigner2 жыл бұрын
@@ngeruma to be fair, in the campaign, there is a moment where fire extinguishing in the form of sprinklers come up and clean gel, so I'm inclined to believe it's regular water :P

Ngeruma, I have a useful tip for you, you know the light on your portal gun? It indicates the last portal you placed. If it is orange, you placed orange last, if its blue you placed blue last. You probably know this but if you didn't glad I helped.

0:17 - "Yup!", the subtle acknowledgement of tubes that deliver us cubes 0:55 - It's usually to prevent gel coating ;) 1:15 - The fact that the antline goes to the block above just to make a small turn around the light strips triggers me 😩 13:03 - Probably to clean off cubes if you got them covered in repulsion gel accidentally :P Great video as per usual!
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
0:17 I'm trying to wean myself off of mentioning them every time, we all know they're there by now lol 0:55 Actual gutters in this case then 1:15 That's a weird quirk / bad habit of the default pti puzzle maker isn't it? it tends to be a bit odd with the ant lines, i do think i prefer just linking elements with signage now days. 13:03 Yeah I guess we might of been meant to bring the weighted cube through using the conveyance beam like i was going to, which would of got it covered in gel and needed a wash, but it was easier to do it with the reflection cube on the button, so i don't know which was intended, maybe just an emergency cube wash station :) As always dude, thank you so much for still watching these and for the comments, i really do appreciate it!

Cleansing gel is plain water. This can be figured out from a cave Johnson monologue says “in this test a microchip in your head can beep. In this scenario tell us because this means it gonna overheat”. It is not quite same but says similar like this. And in this relevant test, they had used cleansing gel. It is a known that electronics cannot handle water well.
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
so... that would imply that Aperture's solution to over heating microchips implanted in test subjects brains was to fry them by soaking the subject lol

Turns out it's monday. When did that happen? That was a cool chamber. I liked the lay out of it and especially liked the floor. I built one chamber that has a large glass over goo floor. Kinda trippy to walk out onto, but this one, being a much smaller space, came across as quite elegant. I'm curious if that last move to get the elevator to lift was the intended one. Either way, it worked, and the set-in-stone rules of Portal say that if it works, it's all good! ;)
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
another week another chamber ;) and yeah the final move i used was wrong, cappucci commented that we are supposed to off used the gel dropped onto the cube to have bounced it out of the way of the laser, which i actually was i was going to do until i thought i'd just shoot around the wall, same outcome, but the proper way would of given us a "downpour" :D The deadly deadly goo used decoratively does actually seem to work pretty well with some maps As always, thank you so much for still watching and for always commenting!

What mods would I have to get to see/play levels that have new concepts and stuff like the ones in these videos?
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
The maps can mainly just found on the Portal 2 Steam Workshop pages, and for most you won't need anything extra to play them, as everything they need should be packaged with the map itself. Some (much) older ones may need to have counter strike source installed for some textures but this is pretty unlikely. Some maps made with BeeMod would benefit from you having BeeMod installed on your system, but again this is very unlikely to be necessary. I get a lot of really unique maps recommended to me, so if you're interested you can check out my list and see if any take your fancy. ngeruma.wixsite.com/ngeruma/maplist If I can be of any help, please feel free to ask :) Thank you for watching and for commenting too

Me: NOOO you cant put deadly goo as a decorative object!!!! actually, you might do. I am supposing this is not a hammer map more like it was made with Beemod, how'd I know? simple: If it was not made by beemod 2.4, you'd hear cave johnson ramble a bit at the start which i find annoying, great video! Just like the rest and another 49 weeks to go or possibly a year.
@ngeruma2 жыл бұрын
deadly deadly goo as a decoration actually works quite nicely sometimes it seems, even if it wasn't purely decorative, the blue gel going through the grate into the goo kept it from making a mess places we wouldn't want a mess in the future i guess. And yeah i usually cut the long cave johnson ramblings out of the start of the videos now unless it super relevant to the chamber somehow, i wait for him to shut up before walking out of the lift :) it's amazing and simultaneously depressing when i remember theres 52 weeks in a year lol Thanks for watching and the comment too dude :)
