I'm glad you played this map after Ascension! This is the map that housed a lot of the original ideas that were inherited by Ascension. I put a lot of effort into this one and really aimed to push the engine to its limits. While I really would love to explore battling the Combine, the game straight up just doesn't support it. The same goes for the secondary attack method for the gun lol. It sounds like you really do enjoy these kinds of weaponry maps in general, though, so I may consider making another map sometime in the future. I just hope I don't run out of ideas, since I tried to stuff all the good ones into this map. By the way, you did miss a secret Rattmann area under the stairs at 17:20! Thanks for playing; It was really heartwarming to see someone post a video of their experience!

I have a feeling that aperture's panels were a vey new idea in portal 1, with them using pistons for the floors of test chambers. When glados awoke from her sleep in portal 2, she made these panels on every test chamber. Thats why theyre everywhere in the second game
