@@ChmojBoy haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Just now needing to replace tires at 31k miles. Only thing I’ve had to stop by the dealership for (other than an oil change) is a top off on oil. Such a fun drive every time. It never gets old🤩

I did the adaptive suspension and ended up doing non-runflats as well. The ride is sublime now. It can cruise like a 5 series but still carve corners like crazy.

M340i is an amazing car! I have a few things on mine that bypass some of your complaints such as it being a 2020 which sounds a little more aggressive with the pops. Mine has the Vernasca leather with the blue stitching which I absolutely love, but my buddies seats like yours aren’t bad either. Maybe you can find some cheapish used M3 seats though. I have lowering springs which help with the car feeling more responsive and less body roll, but just a tad stiffer which I like the sportiness of. There’s coilovers that do help increase comfort for those wanting an even smoother ride. But yea once you get the AWE exhaust that’s going to really bypass your sound complaint. You deff do need to get wider wheels and tires tho! Specially when you tune it which will REALLY wake it up. Also, get xhp to improve the shifts EVEN MORE. Oh also, get bimnercode to code in more options for your ambient lighting. We coded in red, and it’s my fav for sure.

Brother I feel you on the ride quality complaint!!! The suspension on my 2020 M340i WITHOUT adaptive suspension almost made me sell my car. After injuring my spine at the gym I drive the care like a grandpa because one big bump and i can irritate discs and flare up my back and neck lol. I'm also 6'2 so on some big bumps my head has hit the top lmao. Wish we could retrofit adaptive suspension man :(

I've got the '21 M440i and I felt like it was a little tighter in the handling when I test drove them back to back. Granted, short test drives, and it was 3 years ago. But its far less practical, there are back seats but they only fit a small child comfortably. I'm also in Milwaukee, if you want to check it out someday, let me know.

I have 2022 m340xdrive with M Performance exhaust JB4 and active autowerks down pipe, burger motorsports air intake. It sounds incredible and pulls amazing. Also I just installed the Michelin pilot sport all season tires non run flat. It will give you a much better ride the Bridgestone turanza that I switched from. 11:03 11:07

I've always heard the adaptive suspension is pretty much a requirement for this car. Even my wife's 330i with M Sport package was pretty stiff for what it was.

I agree I packaged my 21 m340i with everything accept adaptive m suspension and xdrive. Car definitely felt the road quality, don’t get me wrong on smooth pavement in a 50mph speed zone it was perfection but otherwise bumpy. Also if driving spirited that helps I feel like it makes you react to the drive and road. Adaptive m suspension is now offered more as a standard when I sent to build a 2024. I took delivery a couple days ago but noticed immediately a more comforting drive and the seats are not so dense/hard. Both cars I spec’d with Vernasca leather to. They made the cushioning softer, my observant side says yeah but watch them wear out quicker too. Seats in old car felt like hockey pucks. As a warning the LCI is great but you lose headlight turning and leveling, some ambient lighting in lower storage areas of door and the m performance steering wheel is cheap now. They did a list of deletes on car amenities and idrive 8 HUD is incomplete. I would review with online forums before getting car so you know what it is your buying. However suspension being easy more comfortable was the ultimate gift.

My 2021 M340i (No Adaptive Suspension) had 2 months is stock. At 100mph steering is tight and very sensitive. Hard keeping car in the lane at 100 mph. Strange because at 80-90 mph its smooth and like on rails. Interstate asphalt or un-evenness in surface might have been the problem. I want to take to Charlotte Motor Speedway, but they limit personal vehicle tour to 70mph😢

Got a 340 as my loaner car when my 5 series was getting fixed. Its the complete opposite of the 5 series. While the 5 series is a cruiser the 340 wants to be pushed all the time. It is not a car to drive if you live in the city.

Nice car mate. I just bought a 2020 M340i yesterday. Just waiting for coating and PPF to be applied, can't wait to pick it up. RWD M340i's weren't an option here in New Zealand, but the xDrive models have 225 tires at the front and 255 tires at the rear. Love the white. I got black, gonna be a mission to keep clean 😅

Put it on Ohlins coilovers. I have the static suspension on mine and wasn't very happy with it. Felt like it skated over imperfections. With the Ohlins, it's firmer, but somehow smoother. Turn in feel also improved.

@@dwnshft For sure. It was a painstaking decision process for me, but I'm happy. I even went off the shelf, you can get them valved for softer Swift springs. The magic is in the DFV, they don't ride like any other coilover I've driven on, which is several. Sleeves, Fortune, BR, KW, Bilstein, H&R, you name it...

Go spend one day at the BMW performance center, they use m340i's and you learn how to drive and drift them with the right course. worth every penny

That’s not an OE front splitter. That is aftermarket. The M performance oem front splitter has a different design, 3 piece and not as aggressive as the one on your M340i. Additionally, steering wheel NVH / feedback can be had by adding Dinan Monoballs. I highly recommend.

Eco Pro isn't for the highway. It's for driving around town, like running errands. Best highway mileage will come from the Comfort setting.

The adaptive suspension does help but even on the comfort setting it is still stiffer than you might think! My F30 320i had comfier suspension than my M340i 🙃 If you change to non run-flats it will help with the comfort. Also if you want burbles, you can consistently replicate them even on stock exhaust (yours is mild hybrid like mine I think): 2nd gear, sport plus throttle, rev to around 3-3.5k rpm and let off the gas. You will get burbles every time! I coded out the piped in sound and hear them better now :) Agree you with you on the steering, haven’t found a fix other than changing it to comfort steering in sport individual which helps somewhat. I bought a centre stripe from eBay as well haha

I think it sounds incredible under WOT, and always thought it is the perfect sized 4 door. Did you consider putting spacers on the wheels to bring them out flush to the body? I also think the SensaTec is perfect for the harsh environment you live in, and it looks good. After an exhaust mod I think you’d fall in love all over again✌️

Completely agree sensatec is very good. I have vernasca leather and it's very hard compared to sensatec and doesn't feel comfortable on long drives and tbh sensatec will be fine if maintained properly for years. I saw couple years old sensatec seats turned out really good

@@dwnshftI'm going to be honest, from what I have seen here in this video, the M340i seems like it's the more practical car but not more exciting. When you said the shifts were really fast, I was like, really? There was absolutely no theater to the shifts. On the IS 500, I get a little pop on upshifts when I am on the gas, and there's some shift shock. Granted, in my experience the ZF is a little more responsive than the IS's transmission. Just depends on how you want to drive. ZF is better at thinking for itself, but I'd argue the IS 500's transmission is more aggressive when you're on it. Also the fake engine sound is a major bummer.

I have a 2020 M340i and there was no option to add sport exhaust. Are you sure the 2021 had that option? I did get the adaptive suspension but not Xdrive. Wish I would have spec'd out the Xdrive.

Skip the jb4, Consider a FETMO unlock so you can tune. I just did a catted dp and tune on my 2020 and WOW, the car is alive! Mine looks similar to yours, I added side skirts, lip, spoiler. Today I’m installing G80 wheels with 275/35/19 + 245/40/19 (5mm spacer up front). Still need to wrap my roof and I’ll see if I can lower it after the g80 wheels go on

Where do think the M340I is Compared to M440I gran coupe, i want the M440I gran coupe mainly for the ventilated seats because i live in a very hot area, the 5 doors is a plus because it could handle taller or weird looking objects in the trunk, i was worried if the M440I could comfortably take 4 adults or if the back seats were any tighter specially because I'm 6'3" so the driver seat is almost all the way to the back, also not sure about how different the driving dynamics are from the M340I and which one would be better for a daily driver

dynamically the 3 and 4 will be almost identical. rear seats might have a little less headroom, but yes a big benefit is the hatch on the GC! Go with the 440 GC if you're into it!

I’ve swapped tires to NON-runflats and the ride is MUCH better now. It’s still a busy ride but it’s not harsh anymore and much more liveable
