Rachel was pointing out the blatant issues with ESPN since its new HEAD. Theyre clearly pandering/appeasing a new audience. BC theyve really done a good job ruining what theyve built over the last 5-10 years. Bill dan jemele michael smith etc will continue to work in sports unlike Keith. Yet the "keep politics" out of sports is always directed to liberals. Ppl like keith are beginning to look like grifters it makes you have to develop a filter for these "new upstarts' ESPN among others are going to start putting in front of us and how if theyre just a talking head...and their content is actually developed behind the scenes etc.....bc i think ESPN may have lost its way....if half the content is going to be "political" and "woke" and the other half is supposed to be apolitical. its just another piece of ABC trash. Certainly seems the opposite to me. Unless I’m missing something and Greenberg is a huge hit with the younger audience. To me the moves have consistently been geared to creating a homogenized product that is meant to be as inoffensive as possible. It’s meant to cater to the 50 year old suburban white male that still tuned into live radio and television, Meanwhile younger generations are finding more specific products that appeal to them directly and doing so on demand.
@jimstevenson4243 жыл бұрын
@@ryanflaherty3317That generation is the one that made ESPN in the 80s and then fled. They don't want vanilla, they want balanced analysis with some excitement. Plenty non-TV sources now. ESPN has slowly and methodically got rid of those who introduced politics to their shows. ESPN is going back to its roots and focusing on a strictly sports mantra again. This is because ESPN was losing millions of viewers when politics soured the shows. When your money starts to dwindle, changes are going to be made. Were narrating and dissecting tweets? at the tune of a couple million dollars then validating if theyre literal just BS or even more cryptic and have hidden messages....over millionares tweets that never finished college or work normal jobs that they dont want to work daily........LOL what world are we in RN. Then i gotta turn that trash off....ben simmons is becoming a high point in the NBA(adam silver)/ESPN sensationalism era....im starting to see in between the lines. how clown journalists make a career off of inflating "talent" and "playing ball" for a living. We get to a moment where both intersect. Its quite amazing....how despite how much i dislike skip bayless....i could still listen to FTF or skip n shannon about even non sports issues just bc of how each person is objective in their own way or the pundits on FTF....or even subjective if you will. But the shows that validate how nonsensical the tweets as well as these players in generals skillset. At the tune of multimillion dollar contracts.....it makes the whole thing from the sport to the coverage look for show.....now look at the MLB. And the espn coverage of it. The list is endless....ppl are cheating....the optics/metrics hunting for spinrate dates 2015 if not earlier pre stat tracking. THus proving MLBs knowledge of cheating from MGMT/owner/comissioner. ESPN is their own demise. All the great commentators with the large fan bases are finding homes like here on KZbin/Spotify AND having independent sponsorships where they are their own boss, can give their own opinions for once, and don’t have to constantly talk about how much they love Lebron or massage the ego’s of large market franchises. ESPN has also became political which isn’t good for the reputations of their analysts and employees which could turn off some viewers completely. @@THEKIDWISCONSIN you just said Dan doesn’t do sports however he started in this business as a sports writer and journalist so you can’t say he doesn’t do sports. Besides there’s a lot more going on than sports don’t need to hear “if LeBron wins one more ring does he pass Jordan” for 23 hours a day

@@rl20568 Sorry...I should have included the #sarcasm but I figured it was implied. I just saying I'm not a fan...some of us tune into sports radio for...sports...not politics or current relations between Cuba & The United States...I've tried but he's just not for me...and the straw the broke the camel's back was the baseball HOF ballet thing...but again...if you enjoy him that's great.
