I bought a DP12 last year. After getting used to the 2 squeeze 1 pull action I love it to death. It is really heavy, though.

I own and love my DP-12. Very viable for home defense, but as you say, an owner must spend time at the range to get to know the nuances of the weapon. But isn't that true for any weapon chosen? And, if the choice is made for the DP-12, then it may be awkward to switch back and forth with a traditional shotgun. However, I love the ability to double-tap a 12 gauge. For the first two shots, I do believe it is a mite quicker than an semi-auto shotgun. I can't even imagine being on the business end of a double-tap of buckshot or slugs. Also, the balance of this weapon is such that the weight is not a negative. When shouldered, it does not feel like a heavy weapon, but the weight certainly does diminish recoil. Shotguns are not that bad to shoot without earmuffs. It's unpleasant, but it doesn't hurt.

Shooting any gun for more than a few rounds is hard on your ears. A shotgun with a short barrel is very loud.

One thing I think should be mentioned about this shotgun is that it doesn't seem to like being pumped gently. Messing around with mine I've had the shells hang up when being fed into the chamber or even not getting ejected from the mag tube. So be a little rough with this thing, it's definitely sturdy enough to handle it.

Great pt 2 review. I took note of this and made the DP12 my first pump shotgun. I figured, i ll learn the bang bang, pump vs bang pump and eliminate the confusion.

I have had mine for a month now. Put a couple hundred rounds through it. No issues. As far a shooting it goes, you quickly find the 2 shot then pump rhythm. I think it is the ultimate home defense gun. Now i'm looking for a light for it.

I love mine! I will warn you that these things are magicians and will make ammo disappear. It's insane how fast a box of 100 shells will get emptied out at the range.

I have shot one of these and I have to say it is a blast to shoot! Definitely a good option for home defense but I will say this it doesn't like to get dirt or get dirty when at the range one side went down but even with that it was fun to shoot.

I'd be interested in seeing a video firing different Glocks in a way that isn't done too often, but it's actually very important. Load it up with a full mag and one on the chamber, and keep firing one shot and put another round in the mag each time. Repeat like 10 times and see if it ever malfunctions. I know you like to load Glock 27 mags down 1 round, (personally I don't, my Glock 27 mags take 9 easily) but test that gun especially. I'd be interested to see if it functions reliably if repeated a lot. It really is an important subject if you think about it. People carry like that every day but rarely ever test that exact condition more than once per trip to the range. You tested firing a Glock with no mag inserted in an earlier video and only got a malfunction every 5 rounds or so. Obviously carry ammo should still be reliable, hopefully because that's how I carry my 27. Then maybe try some range bulk ammo.

You guys need to do a review of the vepr 12. I watched the walk through the woods video with it and your dad really seemed to like it. It's a great gun. I also have the KSG and I really like shooting that too. Shell deflector and limbsaver recoil pad and you're good to go. My brother wanted the dp-12 but saw the beginning of a breakdown cleaning video and that alone made him decide against it. He likes my ksg as well.

Try the sightmark reflex red dot sight. I have it on my dp12 and never had a problem. Had it sighted in on a 10/22 first then put it on the dp12. Held zero for both
