Great stuff. Jay Cassidy's 55min theorem kinda' blew my mind. Many thanks.

I so agree completely with how these two approach filmmaking. Russell's integrity really adds to how much I like his films.

What a great interview. This really delivers on the director-editor relationship. Thanks

Well...you have to have that passion for your material, otherwise the entire impetus behind making it is nullified. It's blood, sweat and tears that is put into such a process, i think it's pretty important for him to love his stuff ;)

David O. Russell is one of my heroes. He's always doing something different and surprising rather than what a lot of today's other directors do. In his career, he's done a sex comedy, a war satire, a philosophical comedy, a sports biopic, and now a dramedy about mental issues, all of them done expertly. What have many directors been doing with their careers lately? Copying Michael Bay.

Stanley Kubrick was my hero. He makes better movies than this guy. He made great films such as 2001: A space odyssey, A clockwork orange, and Dr. Strangelove. Too bad he only made 13 films in his career. He never won an oscar for directing. I believe Kubrick is one of the greatest filmmakers in the generation of cinema. I like other directors like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, James Cameron, and Peter Jackson.
