DPA seems yet to be neutral but always muddy thru clothes. Sanken could be easier to mix with this high-medium for a hide-mic ?

Thats the kind of location my clients choose. 😀

For me the DPA sounds much more natural and there's less difference compared to a boom so less work for the editor in post! Thanks for the comparison

Thanks for the comparison of the mics! These tests are quite common here on KZbin, but I like your unique style doing it! But I have one request/idea fore a more outstanding review. I consider the majority of us sound guys, are one man shows.... So how about a video, testing harnesses (important for bag work) and techniques to boom shoulder friendly/healthy. How’s that? how do they act about rustle clothes? did you test it?
@RLFOSOUND6 жыл бұрын
all microphones can encounter rustle, its a matter of placement, the smaller the capsule the easier it is to hide

Interesting, on your voice DPA sounds better, and Sennheiser did worse. Too much car noise. I wans not expecting lavs to do better job here, but it does.

Man. The first world has it easy. Try recording dialogue in a place where traffic noise includes constant honking. It's a nightmare.

Thats why India prefers ADR. damn shame.

@@markreddy8682 Oh I could go on all day about ADR in India. I'm assuming we're not that far apart then. The problem is that a lot of the ADR isn't even recorded properly. Awful close miking. Poor processing. There is no sense of space at all. The saddest thing is that a lot of good recordists have shown that it's possible to record great location sound here with proper production support but the bad ADR practice still continues.

@@lamenamethefirst ..and right you are sir! We have this fundamental cultural bias of mediocrity both on and off camera. I only hope I get to work on meaningful projects after this lockdown ends.
