CM2250 100,000 tune update. After 100k miles my truck hasn't seen a shop.., no break downs. No, it's not a Pdi tune or Pittsburg power tune. I got the over lay myself and done the tune. Tune Is efficient, I'm straight piped and blow no smoke. Plenty of power, and as you see, the MPGs are amazing.
Showing that us ones with a egr, emissions motor has hope :) hope you enjoy.

Im a diesel technician, the best thing you can do is no governor, drive conservatively and use cruise as much as possible. Example: 2012 Freightliner with a second gen 60 series, EGR and DPF deleted, he is getting 10mpg and with cruise almost 14mpg. Proof is in the puddin. First off truckers arent mechanics. Personally i have seen it a million times, tuning diesels is a no go, failures will arise, he only has a 100K on the tune, no matter how many miles are on the tractor, it always ends in a rebuild

I disagree… 1: For cruise. "Now you have to have a manual boost guage to have an accurate reading” And you have to be diligent with your driving. When cruise is enguaged it will spool high to maintain the set speed, using much more fuel than letting off fuel (driving manually with petal) and keeping boost down. 2: Tunes….i ageee with you to the point that most tunes by guys are hot and lead to early failure. But the guys who know what they are doing with the tune, on the engineering side setting the parameters are very efficient. It’s and easy debate, if you want it, do it; if not, don’t. Just have to know your mechanics. Sad part is most mechanics these days aren’t mechanics. They are parts changers. Computer says this is wrong and the replace that part. Same problem arises, over and over again. Now the “trucker” has a $15,000 shop bill and his truck is still doing same thing. That alone should be against the law. IF IT DONT FIX THE PROBLEM, DONT CHARGE FOR IT. Could at least take it back off. Now your story of 10-14mpg is hear say and i dont beleive that for a minute. Neither should you. Thats not the puddin… Its a "i was told this thing". Now the above video documented accross country is the “ Proof is in the Pudding! Haha I’m not just a “trucker”, i’ve got an enginerring degree and mechaniced all my life. And the truck had 190,000 miles on the tune when i got rid of it to make ways for the new one. Never seen the shop after the tune…. so now i”m guessing why your against what i’ve shown, if more people had this tuning, you’d be hungry.

MakeCents I agree with the OP. I'm a 12 year tech. Unfortunately, I see this all the time. Truckers are not mechanics they do more harm than good trying to circumvent these systems. Tuning, drilling, plugging, welding. Let it be understood that EPA regulations were laid down faster than technology could adapt. Causing numerous technical issues. Now we are catching up. 8.43 is quite low man, nothing to be impressed about. OP is right through proper care and skill you can reach 10-12 and i have seen 14 mpg cruise avg.your damaging your system. I'll tell you like I tell other drivers "hey guy it's your truck and your money. If you don't agree with my diag, that's fine I'll pack your truck up and you can drive along... at a 5 mph derate..." Realize trucks are in my shop cause they no worky, and most the time it's something a driver or a greenhorn tech did. Most my business is fucking fixing your ignorance and negligence if more trucks pulled this shit, I would quit just from work exhaustion. 06 volvo isx 450hp, 10speed, 3.55 rears. Did EGR delete in 2010. No problems so far. Almost 1 mil miles on the truck now. Oil stays clean till 10K. Changing every 15K. Have to add 1gal of oil between PM's. Since EGR delete IFTA average was 7.8-8.3 mpg every quarter. Usually drive 63 mph.

It's great you're experiencing all of this performance and fuel mileage but this further validates CATS claim that you can't make a diesel run as clean as the e.p.a. wants it to, the highways are littered with blown turbos failed sensors soot filled egr's.

My father in law runs a t6 w/ a signature 600. It’s a non-emissions motor from the factory, it just rolled 1,000,000miles and he consistently gets around 6.7-7.2mpg. Not bad for a big power engine. He never runs over 68 on the highway. Best thing he ever taught me about driving...more turbo noise equals less money in your pocket.

MakeCents when I was younger, I was driving a daycab Columbia w/ a 550 c15 in it. I would lug that thing ALL the time...ya know how it goes when you are young. Black smoke...anyway now that I’m older, I get that sickening feeling in my gut when I see any black smoke. I tend to let her rip before I get to a hill so I’m not lugging or working the engine any more than I have to. We run strictly in PA so it’s a challenge to get decent fuel mileage.

Delete the EGR down in the turbo pipe that leaves the turbo to the EGR with a custom metal plug. As for DPF. Weld a pipe through the middle. & put back together. For the egr plug go to a metal shop & get on cut on a leath.

Reefer load or dry van? HP on truck? Lift axles? Super singles? Any aero? Make and model of truck? Keeping the rpm low in top gear helps out a lot. My 387 with 900k+ miles gets between 7 and 9mpg in California when I'm cruisin on I5... That's with a malfunctioning DPF and between 32-42k pounds on. Trailer aero only, all 22.5 duals.

Hey I have a 2013 international with maxxforce 13 engine. Its been good so far. I got it for 7k ive put about 70k. I'm at almost 700k miles. I started thinking about deleting it. Feels like now its starting to loss a bit of power up hills but once it gets going its rolling!

I do not have this truck anymore, But, I put nearly 200k on it before updating to a w900l. I did not have one shop visit after deleting it. Def canisters were drilled and hollowed out. It was 100% deleted from emissions

I averaged the same fuel economy with full emissions. while the emissions require a little more preventive maintenance all of it can be done yourself and you could avoid the breakdowns if you are proactive. once a year take off your EGR the EGR tube your doser injector your def injector and clean them.

My dads egr cooler is leaking on his 2013 Volvo d13. Rather than replacing and facing more problems down the road is it possible to delete all that egr, egr cooler, dpf stuff? Buddy . I have DD15 with 400k Miles . I normally work in City. I had to do park regent in every 2 week . I thought My filters are dirty so I cleaned it . Now I have to do park regent in every 2 to 3 days . I am getting very poor mileage. Took many garage but no one is able to find my problem.. Any suggestion. Thanks

8 mpg ain't bad at all for a full size diesel rig. When I worked on them daily (15 years ago) most of 'em were running around 5 to 6 mpg with no emissions crap on them.

All depends on the driver really. Ours would do 6mpg with a lead foot but it would also do 11mpg with a light foot. set the cruise at 100km/h and enjoy the ride. No need to do 75 and pass everything in sight.

I have a 2015 paccar mx13 new dpf filter aftetreatment wiring harness on an on then just put 4 grand in it with a new turbo actuator didn't fix it came back the next week quoted me at almost 7 grand for an updated back pressure valve. Any ideas on a tune to fix it or a shop that can fix this thing?

I have an older isx, 05. I only had to delete the egr. Unplugged then blocked it off w/ a plate. Best thing I ever did. 8k into my last pm and my oil is still gold and clear. Thats w/ 1.2 on an unopened motor. I think most od the people crying about "breaking" the law are driving company trucks. Besides, most of the "trained" diesel bears see cracked shoes and worn tires 😉 Im getting around 7.5 hauling 40k average.

On the new truck I just averaged 6.2 across country. Chattanooga- Reno. I'm impressed with that with no aerodynamics. And the fact I wasn't running like my old truck. I was running 65-75 whole trip. Can't wait until I tune it :)

For 3k, you should get a overhead set, boost and pyro gauge installed with complete tuning, tuned to your truck.

There's nothing wrong with the ditching the egr and dpf... Especially the soot levels that would linger in the filter. It's a matter of what you prefer

I’m about to buy a 2011 kw with 95k miles yes I said 95k miles. I’m so scared I’m getting it deleted ASAP before it give me any problem. I’ve see tons of drivers go out of business because of the def problems

Heavy Pressure bought a 2012 d13 Volvo at 432k just reached 600k check engine with 2 codes and I’m getting the delete today $1600 i feel like people who have def problems forget to fill it up to be honest. But you should be able to get to atleast 500k
