@@sasidharank7953 I really appreciate your insights. Yes, Christianity has had dark pasts where it suppressed women and non Christians. The church and the state was a deadly combination. The early Christian communities were progressive, inclusive and kind. They embodied the true Christian values. The separation of Church and State helped restore those values to some extent. And today, while accepting our past and taking ownership of that, I still feel that Christianity as a religion treats women and men equally. You see more female literacy rate, employment rate, and even divorce rate among Christian communities. I said divorce rate intentionally and positively because divorce happens when two individuals realise that they can't carry on anymore. It happens where there is high female emancipation. In communities with less female emancipation, the women continue to suffer the tortures of men without having the freedom or balls to even file a divorce.

@@usermhmdlanet Thank you for your response. However, whenever I see institutions of great learnings, etc named after St Xavier, I feel it's as much repulsive as Aurangzeb Marg in New Delhi. I also feel very bad to see that the horrendous developments in Manipur are being portrayed as persecution of Christians than as a local tribal war, if I may call it. Don't you think the Church is politicizing it in a convoluted manner? I appeal to all concerned not to whip it up as a Christian vs others issue.

A Wonderful and Illuminating Synthesis! Until the 3rd century, the Church's foundation rested upon the remarkable presence of Christ, His Gospel values, and the profound sacrifices of the Martyrs. The Church was a humble servant leader. However, when Roman emperor Constantine embraced Christianity in the 4th century, the Church started to veer away from Christ and His Gospel values, instead embracing political and worldly structures and ideals. Today, the Catholic Church stands on a solid foundation of administrative and political structures, which have evolved over time. Pope Francis has highlighted the crisis and gap that is growing between the Catholic Church and ordinary people. His dedicated efforts are focused on bringing Christ and His gospel closer to the Church, although it's not an easy task. The Pope's inspiring commitment to foster a culture of synodality aims to empower both the people of God and women within the Church. However, he is facing terrible resistance from within the church. However, there is hope in the prophetic witness of the People of God. The latest inspiring example is Umman Chandy, a Christian Politician who lived out the servant leadership of Christ with prophetic dedication.

I saw a comment by one Mr. Abrahame.m that it was a mediocre talk mixed with two languages. Basically the priests organized the programme wanted her to talk in Malayalam. But she agreed for talking in two languages as she forgot many of the Malayalam words since she was out of the State for a longer period of time stationed in UP being an UP cadre IAS officer. I too agree that a talk should be always in one language rather than mixing with two languages or more. However, the talk was great and precise to the time bringing in rightly the role of women in social life as envisaged by Jesus. I hope the individual concerned before making such a comment should have assessed himself. The main predicament of we Indians is we have different regional languages on which only normally all people are proficient. The best remedy should have been : promote English in full vigour when the Britishers left. We didn't do that. It was a folly. Had Indians accepted that language, now India would have reached to a level which cannot be measured in all areas of their development. It is an international language and its benefit each Indian should have cherished. Certainly they would have reached high echelons in life. Just for example take the case of Mr Sasi Taroor, MP. How he became so popular and accepted. Is it through learning Malayalam or English?
