@@iyaskelu7173 sir, terms such as NASA used to explain the Goat of departure in Leviticus 16 can't be accepted to explaining sin offering Jesus Christ our Lord did on the cross. Jesus became our Goat of departure and went to the desert carrying our transgression the desert when baptised by John. That's why he could forgive sins before going to the cross. The part of atonement His death fulfilled according to Leviticus has little or nothing to do with him taking care of our transgressions

It is so funny that personal pronoun can be used to denote country. Can a country, Israel be a man of sorrow? Isa 53:6 " ....the Lord *has laid on him the iniquity of us ALL* ". Isa 53:8 For He was cut off from a land of living..."" Israel(a country) cannot be cut off from *a land* . It doesn't make sense.

Rabbis are depressed cause they don't have the sacrifice of atonement from sin. To sacrifice a lamb was an act of repentance not a "sorry for that" speech. Rabbis can not erase the Torah fact that sacrifice is needed, even God says that obedience is more important than sacrifice, but still, sacrifice is a basic tool for the finalization of forgiveness.

Rabbinic Judaism and its followers love to think they are righteous and good men, Jesus makes them acknowledge their sinfulness, and so they hate him, just as Jesus said, for testifying their deeds (even their best deeds) are filthy rags to a holy God. It is despicable that they would use their platform to denounce their own Messiah.

@@yosefyahu4778 I've been trying to understand Judaism from a religious or religious doctrine point of view. Because I often hear of "Orthodox" Judaism and "Rabbinic" Judaism, and I see differences in how some dress or practice their religion. I'm just wondering if Rabbinic Judaism is the roots to which all of those modern forms of Judaism stem from. Because from my understanding of what I've heard from Messianic/Christian Jews is that Rabbinic Judaism started somewhere between 70AD and 135AD, after the Romans destroyed the 2nd Temple, sometime during the Bar Kokhba revolt in which there was a major fracture between Messianic Jews and non-Messianic Jews, because the non-Messianic Jews and Rabbi Akiva put their faith into Bar Kokhba as being the Messiah.. Which ultimately failed and lead them being in exile, to Babylon, where Rabbi Akiva was from, I believe. That was a mouthful..

And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. This Angel is forgiving sins why is that so? Now lets go to Judges ch 13 vs 16-18. When Manoah asked for the name of the Angel, He said his name is a secret, now in Hebrew language, that word means beyond comprehension (pailee, pailai) (Isaiah ch 9 vs 6) so can an Angel say His name is wonderful or beyond comprehension? Reading down to verse 21-22: 21 But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. 22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. So again, we see this Angel of the Lord called God.

One of Rabbi Shmuley arguments is that the Nazis can't be atoned for, yet in Jonah God's is willing to spare Nineveh (Assyrian empire) from their crimes. What were those crimes? Burning children alive, cutting off hands and feet, and skinning people alive before cutting their heads off. I would argue that the Assyrians were just as evil as the Nazis and that God would be willing to forgive those who truly repent.

(Ephesians 2:6) "And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him." (Hebrews 11:6) You are currently seated with Christ in heavenly places if you have believed in Him. You have full access to Him. He's the one who invited you in. You're welcome there. It is Christ who brings us into the presence of God Himself. "Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) You don't have to beg for healing. He already knows your needs, and He is most interested in your health. But above all, He desires your heart, your love, and your affections. He desires a close relationship with you, that is based off of faith in His greatest gift of all to you, His own Son Jesus Christ.

So sad, to hear the pride, blasphemy and stupidity of such a smart and respected man. I pray that one day, soon, Our Lord will help the scales off of his eyes and heart. Thank you, Dr. Brown, for sharing the Gospel, with the Jew 1st❣️. Maranatha, to our Savior and King 🙏. I can't wait until Our Lord fulfills the rest of prophecy! Has the rabbi read your book, Not Afraid of the antichrist? Do rabbis know/study prophecy of the New Testament or quran? Btw, do you agree that we're in the fig tree generation? It will be 80 years since '48, in 6 more years. What do you think of the Yehuda Rav Shlomo? They think he's doing miracles. And, an important rabbi said BByahu will introduce him in the near future.

Dispensationalism is probably false... it doesn't show up anywhere in church history until 1830... the church isn't a parenthesis in history... and if the rapture is imminent we wouldn't need anymore signs... or are there more things to happen? Which one is it? Also, where in scripture is there a place to justify a pausing or indefinite 69th week of Daniel? Post Millenial or A Millenial seems much much more likely.

We have an INCREDIBLE amount of literature from the Second Temple Jewish period. A ton of it. So we're aware of what the Messianic expectations were and the passages they used to look forward to the Messiah. We also have a few examples of "Messiahs" from that period that many Jews followed, even to their deaths... those movements were wiped out quickly. But Jesus? His testimony still survives today and is widespread, all across the world. There's a lot of revisionist history in the Jewish literature since Jesus' ministry, particularly about those passages that Christians use to point to Jesus' foreshadowing in the Hebrew Bible (the same passages Jews used to use to point to the coming Messiah). There's a reason so many Jews turned to Jesus after hearing what he did and examining the Scriptures, it's because they saw and understood his fulfillment of the promises that the prophets gave us. The problem is now, after 2000 years, most serious Jews rely on the Talmud more than they rely on the Scriptures. I'm sure many Jews will argue against that fact, but they know it is true. I would challenge any Jew who is seriously versed in the Scriptures to go and read the New Testament. If you are so sure in your faith and the correctness of your position, go read. It shouldn't threaten your faith if you are so correct. But you might find that the New Testament is written by Jews, sometimes for Jews in particular, and contain all the answers about Jesus that you need to know. Then you can make your decision.

Dr. Brown, do you find any of Rabbi Shmuley's particularly compelling? If so, which ones? I'm curious what he thinks about the temple sacrificial atonement system and why that's no longer relevant for Jews today? What changed for the Jews and why does he now feel he no longer needs to atone for his sins? That is, why has atonement shifted now solely to personal responsibility?

The sacrificial system only applied when there was a temple. Even jesus agrees with this point: But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ (matthew 9:13)

@@moses2031 I'm not sure I follow. Rabbi Shmuley doesn't believe in Jesus as the true Temple so I'm not really sure why they felt the sacrificial system that served to atone for their sins was no longer necessary after the destruction of the 2nd Temple. Just doing some cursory research, I found that the ancient ritual abruptly came to an end in 70 C.E., when the Romans destroyed the Temple. At this point, what remained of the Jewish population in Judea had to decide how Passover would be celebrated. The task of adapting Judaism to its new Temple-less reality fell to Rabban Gamaliel II, head of the Jewish Assembly - the Sanhedrin. With regard to the Passover sacrifice, Gamaliel decreed that the sacrifice should continue in family homes, with each family sacrificing its own goat or sheep. However, other rabbis believed that the Passover sacrifice, like all the other sacrifices, could only be conducted by the priests in the Temple and that, like the other sacrifices, should not be conducted until the Messiah comes and the Temple is rebuilt. Some Jews followed Gamaliel and continued to sacrifice goats and sheep in their homes on Passover; others didn’t and saw the practice as apostasy. Within about two generations, the practice ceased when the anti-sacrifice camp assumed control and threatened to excommunicate those who practiced it. So, sometime in the second century C.E., Jews stopped the practice of sacrificing baby goats and sheep on Passover. Until recently, that is. But for followers of Jesus, the cessation of the OT sacrificial system makes perfect sense under the New Covenant. When Jesus said if they destroyed “this temple” and in three days He would raise it up, the Jews thought Jesus was talking about the physical temple in Jerusalem, which had taken forty-six years to build. . But John inserts an explanatory comment: the temple of which Jesus spoke was His own body. Thus, we see our Lord identifying Himself as the new and true temple. The old covenant sanctuary was going to be superseded by a new temple, even Jesus Himself, in whom His people are being knit together as a true sanctuary for God (1 Peter 2:4-5). Dr. R.C. Sproul writes in his commentary John, “Christ is the temple, and all men are commanded to come to Him in order to worship and serve the one true God.” But rabbi Shmuley doesn't believe in the new Temple sanctuary in Jesus as means for atoning for sins. If Orthodox Jews no longer maintain the sacrificial system how does Rabbi Shmule believe they can still atone for their sins? My guess is "personal responsibility" but I would argue that this view is very inconsistent with the tenets of the Torah.

@@paulawallace8784 Prophet Isaiah would not agree with you there. See his commission from God, when He saw God in the Temple in Isaiah 6: Isaiah 6.5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” See, he did not atone for his own sins.

@@D18.21 Yes Yeshua wants repentance, no sacrifice is needed, for He died for your sins Isa 53:5 (He was bruised for our iniquities); verse 6 (and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all); verse 8 (for the transgressions of My people He was stricken); verse 11 (by His knowledge My righteous servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities) verse 12 (and He bear the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors Luke 23:34)) . @@D18.21 First off, I've never seen anyone argue against the sacrificial system of Israel and how that served to atone for the sins and guilt of the people. I just want to make sure I'm following you correctly.....is that what your implying? As for Hosea, "let us render for bulls the offering of our lips....." How? What changed for the Jews that the sacrifice of bulls for sins was no longer needed? Why does the offering of our lips now suffice? I'm not sure I follow how one day sacrifices were needed, but then the next day they weren't? I don't mean this sound sarcastic b/c I'm asking genuinely with much respect- Was the entire sacrificial system commanded directly by God for the Tabernacle and then instituted for the Temple just window-dressing? Simply theater if the offering of our lips in repentance was all that was needed. However, Hosea 3:4-5 and 14:23 make perfect sense if God Himself served as the once and for all sacrifice that the entire Hebrew sacrificial system was pointing to. Through what He did, we now no longer need to offer bulls. Why? B/c Jesus is now the once and for all sacrifice for our sins. We now only need to repent, just as Hosea says, and proclaim that Jesus is Lord. Otherwise, however, the sacrificial system is deemed no longer necessary after the Temple is destroyed? But why? Doesn't that imply that the entire sacrificial system was never really a meaningful and necessary command by God? Was it all just figurative and symbolic? Given the seriousness that God gives those commands surrounding the Levitical system and its offerings and sacrifices and HIs demand for their precise administration (see Nadab and Abihu), I feel all of that couldn't have been just flowery and symbolic, but carried with it heavy significance and importance. Sins required sin offerings (Lev 5-7), and the Day of Atonement served as a culmination day where all sins of the Israelite people were atoned for. If that's the case, how can Hosea shift without irreconcilable differences with the Levitical system? Answer- B/c God sent HIs Son. He is the lamb lead to the slaughter in Isaiah 53 to bear our iniquities. He is what makes it possible to simply repent without a lamb for the sins of an individual Israelite (Lev 6:1-7) or the atoning sacrifices of bulls, goats, and rams (burnt offering) on Yom Kippur (Lev 16). Without The Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, the entire story of the Israelite people and the significance of the Temple is incomplete. Just my thoughts. Cheers.

A Gentile Looks at Isaiah 53. From a Gentiles perspective, Isaiah 53 really looks fulfilled in Jesus Christ. 53 is not about the nations acknowledging a misunderstanding about Israel...it better fits the Isaiah Servant narrative, of God's promise of worldwide salvation to the Gentiles. Chap 42 starts with the Servant's great success in bringing salvation to the Gentiles. 49 talks about the Servant bringing salvation to the Gentiles,, and both calls Him Israel, and distinguishes Him from the nation of Israel in the same way a leader of people both represents the people and is other than them. 52 ends with the Gentiles being surprised at this Servants suffering, and 53 explains the purpose of His suffering being an almah, a guilt offering that atones for our sins, and brings forgiveness and righteousness to us. 55 identifies the One Who brings this salvation to the Gentiles as Messiah, and tells all mankind, Gentiles and Jews to repent and seek the Lord, and we will be forgiven. If I didn't know one word of the New Testament, I would recognize this theme as being obviously fulfilled in history, the worldwide rise of Christianity, started by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ for our sins, His resurrection; and the viral expansion of the Church.

Okay I honestly have a hard time listening to this guy. His theatrics grate on my nerves, so I mean this as a serious question. Is he unaware that the OT describes the people of Israel rejecting God and being punished for it? Every snippet I hear he is describing Israel suffering for being so righteous. Does he think God broke his promises at the end of Deuteronomy?

I feel so sorry for this Jewish man, and for any who agree with his point of view. I can see he harbors much hate. It was most evident when he described people who murdered others. He yelled there is no forgiveness or atonement, for those who kill the innocent. Then that would mean King David would have never been forgiven for sending his friend to the Frontline to die, so King David could take his wife. So basically the Jewish teacher speaking would say King David is in hell for his horrific murder of his friend. But that is not the truth.King David is in heaven with God our Father and The Risen Lord Jesus. Blessed are those who's sins are paid for by another. Ty Yeshua for your great Love
