@marcusniaz3110 so are you righteous out of your own efforts or because Hashem is righteous and faithful to his promises? If Israel was righteous as a whole then they would have never lost the 1st temple, the 2nd temple and never entered the diaspora period.

As Dr. Brown repeatedly tried to explain: everything R.Shmuley quoted from the NT has to do with the corrupt Jewish *leadership* of the 1st Century (which was in league with the Romans which any historian worth his/her salt will readily admit). Among the Jewish lay people *many* followed Yeshua. Later in Acts 6:7 we even see that *myriads* of Priests/Cohens became obedient to the faith. As a Jew I would like to say this to R. Shmuley: Only God will be the ultimate judge as to who inherits eternal life and who doesn’t. As individuals *we* however are responsible for searching out the truth and *responding* to what’s been revealed to us. *That* will determine our eternal state. As for me, my search leads me to Yeshua, the Jewish Messiah and Redeemer. I can’t judge another’s walk with God or the degree of revelation they have or have not received or how much they have honestly pursued finding Truth (which should include being willing to examine truth claims apart from their upbringing). The reason I accept Yeshua as the Redeemer is because as I read it, there is no ultimate redemptive plan (regarding an individual’s afterlife) in Tanach. It just isn’t there, **unless** Isaiah 53 and Daniel 12:2 are factored in. The Levitical cultus never guaranteed or accomplished eternal life for any individual Israelite. Yet for millennia literally millions of animals were sacrificed to atone for sin for the purpose of approaching the Shekineh Presence. This begs the question, “where is the closure”? If there is no ultimate *eternal* redemption, if there is nothing beyond the temporal, there is no closure. And those animals were sacrificed in vain. (Burnt offerings, in particular, were the most frequently offered. There was *no* physical remuneration except the hide of the animal which went to the Priests.) The whole idea of burnt offerings makes zero sense if they did not accomplish atonement for the penitent (See the Burnt Offerings mentioned in Job 1:5 and 42:8). Same with the Akeda (which btw was also a prospective “Burnt Offering”.) If Yeshua isn’t the antitype to the Levitical offerings as well as the Akeda, those pericopes were/are entirely capricious. PS: Regarding “the lost”, I’m glad Dr. Brown briefly tried to mention the views of Conditionalism as well as inclusivism. These two subjects regarding the afterlife are *not* discussed enough in Evangelical circles. It’s time for a fresh look at the scholarship.

Wow. I’ve got a lot of studying to do. I’m a black gentile believer . It is the first time of hearing the word “Akeda”. I have read the NT my whole life, and I have never came to the conclusion to hate Jewish people. When Yeshua spoke of sons of the devil, he was talking about the corrupt Jewish leaders that were oppressing their own people ( other Jews). NT is very pro-Jewish. I think Rabbi Schmuley has a hard time seeing things because a lot of the pain many “Christians” have cause Jews in history.

@Vladimir Putin, Dreadlock Rasta I'm gonna be honest when I say I don't give a shit that you think I'm antisemitic. I know in my heart I'm not. As of now it's not illegal in the US tho I know Trump did everything he could to limit our free speech regarding Jews. Not surprising since he's so loved by the right wingers in Israel that one of the ILLEGAL Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights was renamed Trump Heights. We could just bring up a bunch of quotes from the Old Testament of the Lord telling y'all to stop playing with magic, wizards, witchcraft, homosexuality etc but have y'all listened? No not at all. As a matter of fact Tel Aviv is considered by many to be the "gay capital of the Middle East" with Israel having a yearly gay parade and a gay beach. Again we could just quote all of the times the Lord has said that y'all "profaned his holy sanctuary". The Golden calf? The sacrificing of their own children to Baal. Again none of this is from the New Testament so if what I'm saying is antisemitic then I guess you disagree with the word of God. You'd rather read the words of rabbis in the Talmud and Zohar than read the literal WORD OF GOD.

Jews do believe in an afterlife, according to the Talmud, all Jews have a share in the World to Come and all non-Jews who follow the 7 laws of Noah have a share in the World to Come. The Moshiach's role is to perfect this world. If you read the Old Testament carefully, you will notice that there is almost nothing stated about an afterlife and it says very often that God and man are not the same thing. Christians distort the Old Testament by claiming that a man can be God.

The Rabbi goes on about how upsetting it is to be damned to Hell for rejecting the Messiah. Let me ask you this, if you believed Jesus was the true Messiah... would you not expect to be condemned to Hell for not believing in Him? When Jewish people break God’s covenants are we not damned? If Jesus is our Moeshiach, would we not be breaking the biggest covenant of all by rejecting Him?

You forgot something Rachel. The Jews have been blinded to Yeshua as Messiah, so if they go to hell because they don't accept him as Messiah, then ARE YOU SAYING THE GOD OF THE JEWS IS UNJUST? May it never be for every generation has a remnant of Jews who do believe in Messiah Yeshua who are chosen by grace as a holy remnant, preserving the "witnesses of the only true God" unto the day of their national redemption. Excellent debate.I was an usher at Beth Messiah. One very very cold evening there was an event at Beth Messiah. With the wind I think the temp was 0. At the end of the event I was cleaning while the head usher locked the door which led to the parking lot, meaning everyone had to leave through the front door, which was extra steps in the blistering cold. The main pastor Dan Juster criticized me for locking the door. Dr. Brown’s wife kept on asking why did I lock the door. None knew that I didn’t lock nor did I have the key to the door. This analogy is made because you have to seek the key that God has provided you. I don’t have the key to open your door, seek God and you will find the key. I thank Dr. Brown and Rabbi Shmuley for their friendliness and scholar.

It doesn't make me any better (or worse). Obviously, there were some sects of Christianity that were anti-Semitic I don't deny that. They did not know the truth because the truth is not about race. @@JungleJargon That is why the Torah, which within Judaism the Torah is our foundation was given in a PUBLIC EVENT 3,300 years ago to the ENTIRE NATION OF ISRAEL with all to see and witness. Meanwhile your "new testament" more like no testament, was and is a fake man-made book with 100's of human errors and mistakes, that worships a mere human being that ate, drank, slept, and defecated and finally died on a roman cross like the tens of thousands of other Jews during that time period. Your Yeshu couldn't even save himself, how could he have saved the Jewish nation. He is everything the Mashiach WILL NOT BE. The first Jewish followers of Yeshu was beyond a small minority, not even 2% of the Jewish population of Eretz Yisrael during that time, and by the 2nd century C.E these Jewish followers of Yeshu ALL DIED OUT because they saw he was a total failure because every Jew knew exactly what the Mashaich was supposed to carry out. These Jewish followers of Yeshu believed in One G-d, the Only G-d of this Universe, the G-d of Israel. As mentioned in Deuteronomy 6:4. Then what ended up happening was the Gentile IDOL WORSHIPPING Romans and the Roman world picked this religion up for political reasons to unify the entire Roman world under 1 unifying banner of 1 state religion. The pagan Romans and other gentiles that LATER ON IN THE 3RD CENTURY adobted this fake religion, they went ahead and mixed dozens of pagan beliefs and practices. Your faith is as fake as can be, a Idol worshipping religion. Which is a total disgrace that it is even recognized as an Abrahamic faith. Using Abraham Our Father of blessed memory to describe this,.. Satan created Idol worshipping Anti-Jewish, Anti-Semetic religion with no ties to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel. Let alone The G-d of Israel, since the entire religion is based on IDOL WORSHIP, worshipping a wicked Jew that died on a roman cross. As much as Islam and the Arabs are a threat to Israel's existence TODAY, the truth shall always be said, Islam is an Abrahamic faith, they worship One G-d and One G-d ONLY. The G-d of Abraham.

@@danielcohen5109 I'm impressed, you almost got it right. The Romans did corrupt the Jewish teaching that only your Maker can perfectly cover for you Himself and remake you again from the inside out by the power of His true word as no one else can. Your sins are on and against HaShem to begin with. Who else is going to take your sin away? No ordinary man of sin can ever be Moshiach. Only the Son of Man born of the seed of the woman, without sinful man can ever be the King of Glory, the ruler from the days of eternity born in Bethlehem of Judah. Moishe said to listen only to HaShem and to listen to everything Messiah says when He is born among you. I, myself, am a missionary's kid and I have seen and heard just about everything and I know that what I am saying is the absolute truth. There is no Savior besides God. Also, my Y chromosome is I M253 and my mtDNA is H3g so I am a little Semitic myself with a Jewish great grandfather and I also grew up with the same foundation of Torah that you speak of. If you care to listen some more, it is the New Covenant Scripture that says not to speak of your own initiative. Everything we say is to be the word of HaShem. Everything that we do is to be by the strength that HaShem provides so that in all things HaShem is glorified. Daniel is a nice name. He said all nations will serve the Son of Man. Daniel also said that some will awake to eternal life and others will awake to eternal shame and disgrace. (I have to give you a chance to respond, if you would like.) Yeshua is your undercover boss. Just don't feel too much guilt because we all share in putting Him to death and He did no wrong. Our sins put Him to death. He had to die (after we sinned.) Yeshua can die for Adam because He is Adam.

@@JungleJargon Roman's clearly tells us that we are reconciled to Yhwh for our PAST sins, By Yeshuas righteousness and obedience (the sign to the Ninavites). We are responsible for future sins by repenting. Unfortunately Christian's have been deceived into believing that Yeshua died on a cross for ALL thier sins. First, he never died on a cross. He crucified his carnal man as a living offering thru obedience. He was not born sinless nor by a miracle. He became the firstbegotten son of Yhwh at his spiritual resurrection from eternal spiritual death Roman's 1:3-4. The firstbegotten of many brothers. The whole birth, crucifixion and bodily resurrection are pagan myths inserted or misquoted thru the decades after Yeshua was transfigured and ascended. His flesh never saw corruption and not one witness saw his body rise. It's a pretty big deal to believe a doctrine that not one person can testify to. Even Paul said to establish his word by 2 or 3 witnesses and test and prove all things.

Well... the main issue lies in the way you read the bible, there's a way to interpreting it which is that Israel and jews are the chosen nation or there's another way of interpreting the Story of old Israel The bible and the old testament can be seen as a story of how god chosen the least relevant, most laughable, and poorest of the semitic peoples, the Hebrews and in order to demonstrate his benevolence he decides to give a message to mankind he used the 12 tribes of israel to demonstrate his will and kindness and pave the road of the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and he decided to guide the 12 tribes of israel to jerusalem because he knews is the center of commerce and knowledge from which his message of love can spread to mankind, and God helped the 12 tribes of Israel even when they decided to keep the worship of canaanite well after building the Temple of Solomon. There's a inherent problem in the word "Judaism", Judaism comes from Judeah, which is only one of the 12 tribes of israel, is the equivalent to simply erase the word Christian and replace it with Catholic, Yahwism is definitely a better term and describes IMO better the name of the religion of the hebrews There's also a message in the new and old testament that Puts Jews in the same category as Lucifer, Lucifer when was an Archangel he was the first creation of god, his most beautiful creation, a bearer of light granted with god's will, just like Israel, but he betrayed him and made a rebellion against his will, The Will of god can be seen as Christ sacrifice for humanity, and the betrayal and rebellion of the jews can be seen as not accepting he is not only the messiah, the son of god, but that he is god (the whole concept of the holy trinity is that god is a single entity with 3 persons, why? because he is god and exist on a higher dimension and level of understanding)

Romans 2:17-3:8 Modern English Version (MEV) The Jews and the Law 17 Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God. 18 You know His will and approve the things that are more excellent, because you are instructed in the law. 19 You are confident that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, 20 an instructor of the foolish, and a teacher of babes, who have the full content of knowledge and truth in the law: 21 You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach not to steal, do you steal? 22 You who say not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? 24 As it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”[a] 25 Circumcision indeed has merit, if you keep the law, but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision. 26 Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteousness of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? 27 Will the uncircumcised one who is righteous by nature, if he fulfills the law, not judge you who, by the letter of the law and circumcision, violate the law? 28 He is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is external in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly. And circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, and not by the letter. His praise is not from men, but from God. 3 What advantage then does the Jew have? Or what profit is there in circumcision? 2 Much in every way! Chiefly because the oracles of God were entrusted to them. 3 What if some did not believe? Would their unbelief nullify the faithfulness of God? 4 God forbid! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, and may prevail in Your judging.”[b] 5 But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous in taking vengeance? (I am speaking in human terms.) 6 God forbid! For then how could God judge the world? 7 If through my lie the truth of God has abounded more to His glory, why am I still being judged as a sinner? 8 Why not rather say, “Let us do evil that good may come,” as we are slanderously accused and as some claim that we say? The question is in itself absurd since Jesus was himself a jew, born and living in a jewish country and born from a jewish mother. Jesus preached the Thora. I can`t see how this all could be anti-semitic.

romain if we were talking about Americans disciples of Jesus and we wrote that they were afraid to go among the Americans, couldn't we say it's anti-American? So why does the NT speak about Jewish disciples of Jesus who were afraid to go among "the Jews"? Everyone in the gospels' narrative is Jewish, so why are the "Jews" presented as the evil ones who hated Jesus and wanted to kill him. THAT'S ANTI-JEWISH and the History of Christian Antisemitism proves the NT carries a subtle message of hatred without a cause that's carried through nearly 20 centuries culminating with the Holocaust.

Civil debates are uncharacteristic of our two societies. Jesus is & will always be Jewish & HE is the Jewish Messiah. I don't blame the Jews for killing Jesus. Christian Antisemitism is utterly evil. How can love Jesus and hate Jews? Jesus was & is Jewish. I denounce all forms of discrimination including antisemitism.

areafifty Please read your question back again to yourself very slowly. Think of this. If a hammer can kill someone with a blow to the head, but also hammer a nail to make a house .... should we say it’s only a murder weapon? How one wields the tool says more about the person using it, than it does about the tool. I recommend watching the debate again, and listening to what Dr.Brown says very carefully without judgment. For if you are judging, how can you listen?

@@MeravElirazIsaiah 53:8 says that the servant dies for the sins/transgressions of God's people By oppression[a] and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b] 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. In Isaiah52, the LORD identifies Israel as his people "my people" For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them. 5 “And now what do I have here?” declares the Lord. “For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock,[a]” declares the Lord. “And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed. 6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I.” Isaiah 53 is pretty clear that the servant dies for the transgressions of "my people" as mentioned in Isaiah 53:8, and the servant was buried in a rich man's grave 😊 The servant is the Messiah, who died for "my people" - Israel

Jesus was a delusional Jew who traveled to India and Tibet to acquire some spiritual power and then returned to Israel and after being hanged he was put in a tomb before he dies and escaped the same day or night. Everything they say about his resurrection is a story. He fled to India and lived for many years, and his tomb is there (in present-day Pakistan).
