I used to drink a 750ml bottle a day, several back to back weeks in a row, not an exaggeration. My temptation, my lust, was alcohol. I couldn’t help that I was raised around it my entire life, or that I was predisposed to become addicted. I went to rehab several times, and at best I would learn to slow down on drinking temporarily. Once I accepted that Jesus Christ was the Father in the flesh and that he died on that cross for our sins, it took me about 2 months to quit cold turkey. I was addicted to sin. My sin with self indulgence in alcohol is no better that Brendan’s sin of laying with man, nor is it better that I look at women with lust than it is that Brandan looks and men with lust. The point of accepting Jesus Christ as your savior is to live as pure of a life as you humanly can through knowing that God is there to protect you, including being protected from temptation. a sinful nature is our identity, Brandan. An identity that God is making new through the process of sanctification. Being white is a part of your identity that God doesn't ask you to change because it's an accidental, amoral quality. Homosexual desires may be a part of your identity, just like heterosexual desires are part of 99% of heterosexual male identity. However, what we do with our desires is the issue. Lustful desires, outside of the bonds of marriage (see Gen. 2:24 for a definition of marriage), and especially physical sexual encounters outside of marriage, are something we are expected to deny. Jesus said, "if your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out!" This is a clear statement prohibiting sexual immorality, regardless of our identity as heterosexual or homosexual. In fact, Brandan, this is a clear example of Jesus commanding us to "deny our identity," when that identity is sinful.

In the beginning God created man and woman because he had a plan for them and Paul clearly stated that plan.Christ then said "Man will then find a suitable female and leave his father and mother to form a family of his own", that's God's way but this perverted young man wants to change God's ways and original plan to suit his own ways which are motivated by his own feelings and carnal desires!. The act of homosexuality in itself is perversion and sinful independently on the context which is performed, if this lost gay pastor can not see the difference it is because he is not allowing the word of God to speak😢😢😢

The Bible clearly and consistently declares that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10). God created marriage and sexual relationships to be between one man and one woman: “At the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’” (Matthew 19:4-5). Anything outside of God’s intent and design is sin. The Bible teaches that Christians are to live for God, deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24), including with their sexuality. This disconnect between what the Bible says and what some people feel leads to much controversy, debate, and even hostility.

This phrase people always say “God loves the sinner but hates the sin” is unbiblical. The Bible says “God hates all workers of iniquity” the person, not just the sin. And the deceitful are “abhorrent to Him”. (Psalm 5:5-6). In other words this gay person that twists the Scripture in order to suit his sin, it is deceit and abhorrent to God. He is a worker of iniquity, hated by God, until he repents. If you don’t believe me, you will see just how much God hates people and how abhorrent they are to Him, that He will be able to put them in a fire that burns forever on Judgement Day.

Brandon is a clever little demon. But his arguements fall apart in light of scripture taken in proper context. Sadly he will take many with him to the lake of fire. He is what God sends to deceive those with inching ears and only want to be told they can continue to sin while claiming to follow Christ.

I used to be pro-lgb we really did not have the t's back then, as a rather lukewarm christian. It was when I read the bible, cover to cover skipping nothing, and praying to be shown the truth, what ever that truth may be. That I realized, even though deep down I would like for LGBT to be seen as good and wholesome, it just seems they are not. you have to dance around the truth and twist scripture to get there, and that is mostly done to prove your biases, and lifestyle. I used to smoke, no where does the bible say that is wrong, but it was a sin, because I put it before God, it took over my life and while I was not happy in the long term it did make me feel good in the short term..that what sin does, gives you instant gratification, at the cost of long term consequences. This is why I think many LGBT people tend to be more depressed, have more mental issues than non-lgbt people. I am glad nobody ever told me smoking was fine, and good for me, because once I quit I felt better overall, and now don't miss the instant rush of a cigarette, every story I have heard when a LGBT person quits, be it to become celibate or find a traditional marriage, they always say how great it is now. I thought I was happy as a smoker, as this pastor thinks he is happy being gay, but like when I quit smoking, I bet he'd find peace giving up that lifestyle...but only if he makes that choice himself, I was resistant too when people thought I should quit, but they were right.

Is eternal life eternal? Does God transformed the heart? Do those in the vine produce fruit? Does God prune those in the vine? Are we regarded as sons for correction? Can the redeemed, from the heart, curse Jesus? Does God cause us to walk in his rules and statutes? By Faith do we have peace with God in Christ? Is god so weak that the will in men is able to overcome him? Or is god so powerful that he is able to keep you from stumbling? Is our perceived “will” bestowed supernatural power to resist God? And if so, where did this power come from in the new covenant? Does God Bring the redeemed to completion? Can anyone come to Jesus outside of the biblically explicit draw of God? Does Christ lose any that God gives him? What is eternal life according to scripture? What is God’s truth according to Jesus?

Jesus did mention sexual immorality in Mark 7:20-23. Then the question becomes are homosexual acts considered sexual immorality in Jewish tradition? The answer is 100% yes. It is very clear that the only moral choice in christianity is to marry one person of the opposite sex or remain celibate. At the same time I also want to say do not hate LGBT people, Jesus still loves them despite their sinful lifestyle and so should we.
@ALS_AustNZ7 ай бұрын
💯on 🎯. We love & care for them enough to tell the truth & not affirm their sin. We can call it remaining chaste instead of celibate also.

How can anyone believe that God would affirm homosexual actions? Are such actions good? Are they beautiful? How are they important? What purpose do they serve?
@chrismckenzie90025 ай бұрын
What is wrong with loving and consensual homosexual relationships? Are they causing harm to anyone? What harm have such relationships ever caused you? There is no societal or scientific reason why homosexuality is wrong. In fact, two people who love each other and build a life together is a positive for the community. It’s only religious conservatives who seem to have a problem with homosexuality - and I’m sorry, but they don’t have a monopoly on the religion.

@@Mathiasda it concerns me that you’re equating ‘real love’ and ‘true love’ with the use of sex organs. It's very telling that this Brandon guy doesn't one time in his opening statement refer to scripture. Rather, he goes on about "what he believes." Dr. Brown, within 40 seconds goes to scripture and he makes THE most important distinction: The Affirmational vs. Transformational.
@revbrandanrobertson28 күн бұрын
That's frankly why you should trust me over Dr. Brown. I don't claim to be speaking on behalf of God. I claim to be providing my best analysis of the text based on evidence. This is all that anyone can do- and when someone claims to be objective, that is a huge red flag.
@juanmasa21446 ай бұрын
The Bible was created for the people, in a way that it was perfectly written by God to cater for all times, so the premise that the laws are focused on idolatry or paganism is a long shot and as much as I want to be open minded I think that the concept is flawed. I believe the real contention is, for most gays is the idea that "they believe in Christ and trying to follow Christ just like anyone but there feeling of love for same gender becomes a question of morality". So they will try to find a soothing explanation that would make them gay and at the same time acceptable to Christ. The Bible speaks not about against being gay but sexual relationship of the same sex. However it would be hard to love someone in romantic sense and have not sexual experience. That is a very hard situation, that only Christ can deliver you from. An analogy but only for the purpose of demonstration, in the old days there are cannibals who thinks its normal to eat people, and then that cannibal suddenly learnt of Christ and wanted to be Christian. How can he manage to fight his urges in order to be with Christ. Very hard scenario if we put ourselves into there shoes. But the Bible si clear, we know what it means, AND Christ can deliver us from this dilemma if we trust in Him.

If you're a gay Christian, there is nothing wrong with that. If you wanted to follow Jesus, follow him. But you need to stop loving another man as your partner. It is a sacrifice that you need to make. Same with us straight, we also have our sacrifice. If you follow Jesus, then we don't cheat our wives. At some point, we have our weaknesses and need to eliminate them. You cannot follow Jesus and sleep with a man. Same with the idea that you cannot follow Jesus and have mistresses.
