Plastic surgery and limb amputation have a shared history in saving soldiers from the battlefield. The difference today is that these procedures are now elective, and are endorsed by some therapists.

@@liberality i nursed a young man with body dysmorphic disorder - a type called Alien limb Syndrome. He was often on the MH ward, no one knowing what to do with the poor delusional, obsessed lad. he went round the world looking for a surgeon to remove his arm. finally found in Scotland of all places! he's dead now, had both his legs off too - never found happiness. cosmetic surgery is not bound be the Do No Harm code - its bound by $$££$$££$$£. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHLdaoGfpKuUeJI
