Sir, you have compared Gitelman syndrome with thiazide toxicity But thiazide toxicity causes hypercalcemia , in Gitelman syndrome hypocalcemia

Hello sir, but thiazides leads to hypercalcimea using Na/Ca exchanger on basolateral side when Na/Cl is blocked by Thiazides , but according to your explanation it must lead to hypocalcimea?? Or is there any difference between gitelman and thiazides diuretics!!!?? Please explain this is confusing

Gitelman syndrome is usually milder presents in adulthood, rarely has antenatal presentation such as polyhydramnios. Treatment is by giving potassium and magnesium supplements

Thank you for mentioning the milder adult presentation. I was Dxd at age 48. I am not a physician but I have learned a lot about this. I stay on top of my symptoms and take supplements to help, along with the liquid potassium chloride. In much better shape as I stay with the magnesium added and eat potassium rich foods.

It's not really a treatment it's just a way to keep you alive cause you arent really treating anything your just keeping the person alive

I was diagnosed at 14 and its not a treatment they told me there is no cure there is not treatment and all they can do is treat symptoms
