@@ash9x9. True but power and/or strength adaptations happen/happen better when you get into the heavier/heaviesh weights. Hypertrophy can be gained with light weights though. I think bodyweight exercises and isometrics are good for gaining strength, muscle and power with a lower risk of injury. And bodyweight training also has other benefits such as coordination, mobility, core strength/stability, etc.

I am 80Kg with 15% BF. I am lifting weight and also run since last 2 years. I can tell you quality of life is much much better than a pot belly person. I don't get out of breath by just walking or taking stairs. Diet is everything. Majority of Indians eat 90% carbs and almost no protein specially vegetarians which causes insulin resistance. That's why North india is diabetic capital. Eat 40% carbs and 40% protein( not daal or rajma rather chiken eggs fish lamb pork low fat yogurt whey) and 20% fat with green veggies.

Elder younger middle age people all need to exercise. Dr is talking about those with known pre existing heart conditions and are on prescription drugs for the same. I understand and agree with Doc that at the end of the session one should feel fresh n not sozzled Secondly in gym one shouldn't hurry amongst reps. Sir with due respect, the medical professionals in the country have not been keeping in touch with the advancements in sports and physical medicine. People do not go to the gym anymore to run on the treadmill and do cardiovascular exercises. The focus has clearly moved to muscle training and muscle strengthening to improve many metabolic processes including muscle resistance. I urge that antediluvian medical professionals and businessmen like you and your cohort keep up.

That day the total training gets over in 40 min, of which the METCON workout is only 12-15 min, of which real sets are around 7-8 minutes in aggregate. I am 58, just so you know.

Somehow people here have taken Bodybuilding to be exercising for health, not realizing that its an extreme sport. Anyway people go to the gym more out of vanity than health. As long as one understands what he is doing and has gradually built up work capacity over the years its all good but those looking for quick weight reduction or building muscles are the ones prone to injury and other cardiac disasters. Dr. Shetty is a renowned doctor and knows what he is talking about. For most people walking and yoga is all that they need to keep healthy.

All forms of physical exercises including the ones done for military and army training , gym etc have been proven damaging to the body over the years. Onky ancient Indian traditional physical form of exercise like kalari payittu , silambaattam, other native to bharath martial arts and traditional yoga and asanas are beneficial for good health and fitness of the body… Why?? Because we have to physically be in a gurukulam and learn directly from the knowledgeable guru’s guidance !! Once the student is in front of the guru , the guru knows exactly the strengths and weaknesses of the student and guides according to the abilities and slowly build their form and strength and stamina.. also diet and eating habits are prescribed according to each one’s body constitution… workouts are instructed according to weather and seasonal changes !! there is so much respect to the teacher and the teacher improves the students with their sharp and good understanding skills!! Everything is done onky to help the body become fit and healthy but not torture the body with no good knowledge. That tradition of gurukul learning was killed by the Britishers and we get all the health issues doing third rated body damaging gym workout etc etc

@@anubhavbiswas8197 Let's see how the so called great and media sponsored cardio surgeon of South India misguided my innocent father to a disgraceful and tragic death in his hospital. Infact we encountered with five unknown mysteries there in his corporate hospital in South India. 1. He rejected the most safe advice of his own another cardiologist who recommended the stent grafting of Abdominal Aerotic Aneurysm first then Bypass a month later . 2. He recommended the most fatal double open surgeries of abdominal aortic aneurysm and Bypass together with lots of high promises without discussing any word of risk on 19/10/2019 . 3.He didn't mention the fatal recommendations in his prescription. 4. He called me alone on 11/11/2019 to tell me about only 20 percent risk when payment was already made, signatures given and blood almost arranged just a few hours before Operations leaving a very little options to come out of the hospital at that critical moment . 5. At 8 pm on the day of operation his assistant told me that operation was successful, but just next morning he told that yet another operation Cholestomy will have to be done as my father had gangrene in the intestine. But in their own multiple test reports there was no trace of gangrene . In fact my father had no pain or discomfort in his abdomen. During 22 days in the ventilation two other operations like Treakestomy and Thoracentesis totalling 5 open surgeries were done besides blood infection and septicemia. On 03/12/2019 my father expired and they handed over the body the next day . But we find no name or signature of the surgeon in any of the medical documents handed over on 04/12/2019. Yes, we had one fault that my innocent father trusted this award winning cardiologist more than the previous surgeon who was guiding us in correct and safe directions. My father would not have died if he had mentioned the deadly recommendation of double open surgeries in the prescription because other doctors whom we consulted later would have alerted us about the highest risks. My ex-serviceman father , who faught the war of 62 and 71 ,would not have agreed of surgeries at the age of 75 if he had disclosed the risk factors well in advance before taking package amount and before admission to hospital . I think no surgeon on earth will recommend the double open surgeries of abdominal aortic aneurysm and Bypass without discussing its complications. Sir, have you ever heard of such evil incidents that blind fold innocent patients to the valley of death ? Please note that we returned home on 21/10/2019 because my father was afraid of enduring too much pressure of big surgeries at this advanced age, but during a week we got two phone calls from the hospital promising all possible assistance. In this way they had infused pseudo confidence in my 75 yr old father. However, I don't doubt the expertise of the very surgeon who won accolades from both home and abroad. Almost all the times of the day I think why he didn't mention about the highest risk factors in the first sitting. Is it called the Corporate Ethics, Sir ? I shall have to repent throughout my life why I went all the way to the South ignoring the hospitals of Kolkata where my father would've availed much better, sensible and well discussed treatments. It is true that no doctor wants to kill a patient deliberately, but during the last three years I have been thinking why he discloed the fact at the last moment that the patient would die. I wept and prayed in the four different prayer halls for 22 long days. But the inconsecrated idols didn't bother to grant my prayers. Are not the series of incidents full of uncanny mysteries in a corporate hospital where the blatant cheating continued from the popular cardiovascular surgeon and ended with the driver of the ambulance carrying coffin :- a) I had to pay more than five lakh to the hospital where the careless surgeon knew that the patient would die after the multiple fatal surgeries, but he didn't disclose the fact before taking package amounts. b) A staff of Social Work section of the hospital took Rs.500/- on 04/12/2019 in the Police station premises citing the inter state clearance for the transportation of dead body . c) The person who was preparing the body for coffin suddenly came out with blood - smeared hand to demand tips . d) The ambulance driver who carried the coffin to Bangalore Airport didn't spare me to realize a lumpsum amount of tips even when I was running short of money and weeping how I would take the lifeless body of my father from Bangalore to Bengal . Yet, I witnessed two positive aspects of the hospital. First a Bengali lady doctor gave psychological support during my two time daily visit to the ventilation for 22 days when I suffered stroke like conditions three times there when my father's conditions were being deteriorated. She frequently, alerted me to stay strong, otherwise, my relatives will have to come to bring home two dead bodies. Secondly, the hospital didn't take the ventilation charges of 22 days from me , otherwise, I would have to sell my kidneys there to get my father's body released from the morgue. In fact, I don't harbour any hatred or enmity against the particular surgeon and the hospital, but I have happened to express my unforgettable tragic and painful experience with them whom my departed father had regarded as God and lifesaver. এরকম প্রতারণার ঘটনা কোনদিন শুনেছেন, দাদা ?

For a doctor to give such information, he need practical knowledge. But now due to huge increase in medical seats, there are many medical colleges particularly private with no patients and fakse faculty. It's like pilots learning without even seeing a plane.wgat will be the standard of such doctors? And you Dr Shetty advise to start medical colleges even in flats- like west indies. Instead of raising the standard to advanced countries, you are advising the standards to become like a inder developed country. What is needed is to increase the government spending on health care- it's a mere 1 percent of gdp, whereas in developed countries it's 10 percent. Such shortcuts of increasing medical seats will only lead to unemployment and unethical practices

Doc in my city says why do gym🤣, just walk and yoga. Those are great but so does gym exercises. Just because you haven't been to gym ever doesn't mean no one should. Indian doctors have zero regards to sports and weight trainig and its effects

Misleading video. Strength and weight training under supervision is great way to build and tone your muscles and strong bones. He has little idea about exercise science.

A bunch of load of BS. Heavy strength training leads to a better quality of life and longetivity. But one should know to give each and every muscle group 48-72hrs of rest periods, eat in calorific surplus and sleep for at least 7 hours every day of uninterrupted sleep

You should stop your ill-informed anti-exercise tirade! At least engage with modern-age physical medicine specialists and sports and performance therapists all over the world, before taking a dogmatic, almost religious view and spreading that to gullible people.

Everything is done onky to help the body become got and healthy but not torture the body with no good knowledge. That tradition of gurukul learning was killed by the Britishers and we get all the health issues doing third rated body damaging gym workout etc etc
