I'm so grateful to call Dr. Drew a friend. This podcast isn't just incredibly juicy, it's actually the first full length podcast of my own that I ever recorded (on December 4th, 2019).

Dude! I've heard Dr. Drew a lot from listening to Loveline and I don't think I've ever heard him that angry as when he was talking about the homeless problem. I love pissed off Dr. Drew! It's also nice to hear someone else who is really concerned about the homeless problem; not just having the 'it is what it is, there's nothing we can do about it' attitude. Plus, he's an expert and he's got a unique perspective on the subject.

He should definitely get Tom Segura and Theo Von too, Tom would be a great guest to push Steve-O to seek new thrills, and Theo would be an awesome person for him to interview, and they have similar senses of humor. I really hope Scott or Steve-O read this: The biggest reason why I like this episode of the podcast more than the other two is because I feel Scott allows himself to take a bigger part of the dialogue and asks the questions we fans would like to ask. Steve-O is good at it too, but Scott dares to "interrupt" more and also asks questions that the less informed/experienced people would want to hear about. I really hope he keeps playing that part of the podcast, because it's needed, more than to just sits beside, laugh and be a chill dude. Big love from Stockholm!

I lost my mom to an overdose when I was 17 and recently my cousin Dylan to a heroin overdose, laced with Fentanyl! All I can say is God is so great and there is hope! If I can do it so can you! Steve-o, I called into Loveline in 2004 when I was in 7th grade, when you were on with Drew. I was the first caller on that evening's show. I was nervous to speak, but just said "Steve-o, hows it going? It's an honor to talk to you. I just want you to know that me and all my friends love you, you are our role model!" And you replied asking my age and then saying, "Oh god, haha, I hope I'm not your role model. That's awesome, rock on dude!". You are still a role model today. And don't worry, I came out just fine with you as a role model. The thing that inspired us was how much fun you have! Alcohol and nicotine abuse has wreaked havoc on her health, she had a heart attack at 44 years old. Thank goodness she is still living but she isn't thriving due to addiction. My grandpa was a homeless drunk for years. We live in Eastern Oregon. He had a family here, he had his kids (they were grown), he had a house & he had money, LOTS of money, he had money coming in every year from his wheat lands. But for years he chose to live homeless under Burnside Bridge in Portland just drinking. He made it very clear it was his choice, that’s what he wanted. Every once in a while he would call my mom collect to just check in, she would beg him to come home (no one wants to see their dad like that). One day he did. He came home but he was still a drunk. Like all he did was drink from the moment he woke up to the moment he went to bed. He did that FOR YEARS. He used to call my mom every night at 2:30am for a ride from the bars in town back to his house. Then finally my mom told him she couldn’t do it anymore. She was enabling him. So in the late 80’s he called my mom & said he wanted to go to treatment. He was sober ever since. Every Sunday we would bring him a pack of Salem 100’s and the Sunday paper. One Sunday we brought it out to him and he gave her his smokes back & said he quit smoking. His will power was unbelievable. When he wanted something, he did it, when he stopped something he did it. But he worked every single day for it. He passed away 3 years ago. Up until the time he went to the Hospital for back surgery, he was still attending AA Meetings EVERY week. He was doing it for 30+ years. Of course after he stopped drinking he got his life together & was very healthy after that. But he will always be my hero for everything he went through & came out the other side stronger. He never once tried to hide his past, he told us about it & was VERY honest with us. He didn’t want us to make those choices, so he thought the best way to teach us was to tell us.

Don’t fear getting older man, we all are.... we can’t stay 20 forever (however hormone therapy sounds amazing) dude just keep on keeping on! I love it! So I started drinking, snorting coke and doing stupid shit at parties. Well, I ended up becoming terrible alcoholic and drug addict. But then, seeing Steve get sober inspired me to do the same. I’m 5 years sober and love hearing Steve talk about recovery. I feel connected to it. In a way he helped get me started with my addiction, and helped me end it. Full circle baby!

Hey Steve-O I'm a recovering alcoholic 21 years sober it's never easy it's all mental you either have the will to stay sober or you don't period. It's a daily battle. The major problem I had with AA is the higher power thing. To me there is only one higher power and there is no other option. The main thing you have to focus on is one day at a time work on you for you or you will falter. God bless you and help you on your way.
