I experienced that feeling my very first time seeing the northern lights in Michigan. It was perfectly quiet right after a very heavy snowfall. I went outside about midnight to see how much snow we'd gotten and clear the driveway. I looked up and saw the lights. It was the most humbling amazing moment, I felt like everything was connected or more like I felt connected to everything. What a sight!

Twice in my life, when I was very young, I had the experience that the core of my being, my consciousness cannot go away; it is not subject to birth nor death, that which allows me to feel myself as an individual and experiences the world is not contingent. It is a gut feeling. That feeling has never quite abandoned me since then.

I had the privilege of getting to know Edgar Mitchell after first meeting him in 1996 at the 25th anniversary celebration of his walk on the moon. We shared the interest in consciousness studies. Common interest makes friendships closer and he and his story had a profound effect on me. That awareness of his experience helped prepare me for a profound embodied experience of my own during a meditation retreat several months after getting to know Edgar. It was the most intense physical experience of my life and associated with synchronicities many hundreds of miles away and witnessed by many people. Edgar's comment in this video that Descartes was essentially wrong in that mind and body are intimately connected is proven experientially by samadhi and kundalini episodes. Synchronicities show us that consciousness is universal and ubiquitous and that there is inherent meaning in the universe.

The same thing happened to me in November 2013 while sitting in my back porch. My life has never been the same now I know I create my own reality, that we are all part of Oneness and that we are all connected by source energy (God). It's all very real.

@@downwithputinsaveukraine1313 God is consciousness, we have consciousness, were just a fractal of god. There are higher states of consciousness which in other realms entities might look godly to you. But nothing we won’t achieve as we learn and grow into higher levels or states of being. The ancient war of light and dark is a metaphor of ascending from or descending into chaos. Your vibration and thoughts will determine where u go after death. Each dimension fine tuned for your soul.

@@steelsteez6118 The most tangible way of experiencing it is through meditation. If you calm your mind enough you can feel how the brain is separate from your consciousness. If you get brain damage it will put limitations on consciousness suppressing it down. But when the body dies, The mind is free of those limitations. Even when your asleep your still dreaming. Consciousness is always there even though you might not remember. So when it’s free of the body it no longer has restrictions or limitations. Your consciousness is the only thing that you truly know is real. It turns out matter isn’t even as solid as we previously thought. It’s all vibrations and energy. Why do you think two particles can interact if they are on opposite sides of the universe. Quantum entanglement it’s because it’s all connected. And the double slit experiment shows that the particle acts differently when your observing it. That shows how consciousness has an effect on reality. It’s good that your skeptical, But it’s better to be open minded and skeptical.

"He had read of 'Space': at the back of his thinking for years had lurked the dismal fancy of the black, cold vacuity, the utter deadness, which was supposed to separate the worlds. He had not known how much it affected him till now - now that the very name 'Space' seemed a blasphemous libel for this empyrean ocean of radiance in which they swam. He could not call it 'dead'; he felt life pouring into him from it every moment. How indeed should it be otherwise, since out of this ocean the worlds and all their life had come? He had thought it barren: he saw now that it was the womb of worlds, whose blazing and innumerable offspring looked down nightly even upon the Earth with so many eyes - and here, with how many more?" - C.S. Lewis: From the book "Out of the Silent Planet" (1938).

I am not aware of all that is affecting me. I feel that even though I can see and understand a realm of awareness, I am part of something else that eludes me and yet it is mine. All that I can fathom is very blessing to me, but all that there is to know is not organized and categorized and it would be disturbing to me if I allowed myself to explore it. I need a rock solid foundation to build knowledge and wisdom and understanding. A floating element unattached to anything is subject to waves of the smallest energy that remove all coherency.

in Walden by Thoreau he expresses the experience of transcendentalism, the sensing of an elevating transformational spirit in nature in which, as Mitchell notes, the ego dissolves as the consciousness becomes enlightened. Its an aesthetic philosophy. It would not be an especially notable book perhaps, but for the fact that consciousness of this spirit in nature is generally rejected by the headlong industrial revolution.

I'm sorry, but what astronaut said stars aren't visible in space? I highly doubt a astronaut said these words. In fact, you see more stars more clearly in space than you do on Earth because of our atmosphere.
