I crave living in a world where we love and care for each other, where we are actually equal, where abuse and control cannot happen and isn't accepted, where maternal instinct is allowed to flourish. We fight to be equal... But only on paper, only in words. We are desperate for a society that actually cares. Thank you Gail. I now have hope.

Dr. Bradbrook when I watch and listen to this talk I feel my breath constrict, I go up in my head and I feel sped up. There's a sense of dissociation coming through and a distress level. None of this is wrong but I feel a need for presence and reflection on this, rather than keeping it in shadow and focusing on a rapid fire density of cognitive points. Resonance and somatic congruence can come just from breathing and presence before speaking. Remembering that the message is not the slide content but the whole present moment of the speakers body tension breath openness connectedness and transparency. Walking the talk can be just as simple as showing up fully and bringing inner state into reflection. The comments here are a bit of a congratulatory echo chamber cheering you on but I am sure many other sympathetic supporters also feel the dissociative ungrounded quality and concern for sleep nourishment grounding and connectedness. I do a lot of public speaking myself and see how this performer stage self can crowd out the softer inner presence all in the name of urgent emergency. Sending best wishes --

Dear Dok Gail, this is great effort of you... If I may share: Change must come from within persons'' hearts: Only the faith Christ cleanses the conscience - his precious blood did it, but so many have ignored it. Everything we do roots in the mind and heart, from the brain of the soul. Amen. Unless there is a great Christian revival, especially in EU and in America, the change shall only be temporary make-believe (sorry to say this...) That old proverb is so true - "Change for the better and not fo the worst." EU had it in Christianity: It can still revive. It's the only hope, life, and righteousness, outside Israel. Amen. Peace/ Shalom

Evolve Love Simply we are here to evolve love. Love is the evolutionary impulse of the universe for greater complexity, connectivity, coherence, consciousness and ultimately love. Love is the impulse that created atoms, galaxies and life. Love is the ultimate ground of being of the universe. Let us evolve and co-create a vibration to witness and experience this evolutionary power of love to teach, heal and guide us. Let us collaborate, share and resonate together to co-create, a new cosmology and a sense of self. Let us be the change we want to see in the world, and change the world to be as we want to see it. To evolve love is to evolve a cosmology of love and a sense of perception that is beyond our five material senses. To evolve love is to awaken and perceive a cosmology in which consciousness is primary and matter is secondary. It is a quantum-ancient yogi sense of self, reality and being in which love and consciousness are the ground of our existence and being. In other words, you are more of a spiritual being having a physical experience than a physical being having a spiritual experience. Matter is the illusion of some-thing, and space is the illusion of no-thing. Imagine that the evolution of the galaxies, geology and biology is the result of the evolutionary impulse of a cosmic love for greater complexity, connectivity, coherence and consciousness in everything from rocks to trees to you and me. Quarks are said to be “allured” to one and other. Water molecules are “attracted” to one and other. Love is the true ground of being. Only together can we evolve and develop this sixth sense of being and perception. To evolve love is to perceive that human beings are more than skin encapsulated egos separated by empty space from other skin encapsulated egos, for the sole purpose of self gratification and procreation. We are all fluid inter-being processes constantly exchanging atoms, feelings and thoughts back and forth with each other in the evolution of love and life. It is a paradox that you have to live, heal and grow by yourself, and yet you cannot do it alone. Rebel against your ego sense of a separated self. Evolve and co-create the light of love and life in others, and allow them to witness and co-create it in you. Through heart felt vibrations, resonance, empathy, telepathy and love, there comes awareness that there is a connection, coherence and consciousness, in other words, an evolving oneness, shared by all of life on earth. Recent evidence suggests that earth is in its sixth greatest period of extinction of all life on earth. Everyday 150-200 species go extinct. Global migration, the Internet and technology have now touched everyone and every living thing on earth. Humanity and the earth are at a moment of a great reunion, realignment and renewal of lost, distant and ancient relationships and knowledge . Humanity now has influenced all life on earth through industrialization, transportation and global pollution. Humanity has changed and realigned our world, and all of the creatures in it, as great as any volcano or tectonic plate movement of past great periods of extinction. Nevertheless, we can assume earth is also headed into a new era of evolution, and let us remember that according to the fossil evidence, evolution takes place in leaps, not gradual steps. Albert Einstein said that the most important decision you will make in your life is whether you decide that the universe is a friendly or unfriendly place. It is a question of perception. It is time to take a leap from fear of an unfriendly universe to love of a friendly one. Only by deciding that the universe is a friendly place can we grasp the notion that the ultimate power of the universe is an alluring, attractive and friendly cosmic love which is behind the evolution of everything into greater complexity, connectivity, coherence and consciousness. We are all woven together in one biosphere, into one web of love and life. Through friendship, collaboration and empathy we can co-create a new cosmology of love devoted to evolving a heart felt sense of love for the bioshpere. Up until recently, humanity’s primary sense of love was a romantic love for procreation and establishing a a family. It is now time to expand and evolve our sense of love to include an empathic, telepathic and even an angelic love for others and the home of all life on earth. Evolving this sixth sense of perception of ourselves, a universal inter-being sense of self and others to create an outrageous love of life. It is a transformational shift from fear to love, from separation to coherence and from ignorance to action. Humanity now physically and technologically covers the globe. Humanity has evolved language, culture and knowledge creating the internet and a foundation for the evolution of a global brain or noosphere, an outer-net of telepathy, a sphere of global consciousness and knowledge. Humanity now has the knowledge, technology and capacity to not only to stop polluting and destroying the planet, and it’s people. However, humanity has not yet evolved the love to do it. To evolve love today is to evolve an Outragous Love for life. To evolve na outrageous love of life is to have a universal inter-being sense of self and to awaken to the truth that humanity is killing itself with unsustainable materialism, pollution, fear and war. To celebrate life and to evolve love at this moment in history is to evolve an outrageous love of life and take action. Evolve an outrageous love for your inter-being self and change your life and change the world. We must do it ourselves, yet we cannot do it alome. Let us evolve an outragoues love to end to the unconsciouable attitudes, policies and actions of so many to the dangers climate crisis, ecocide and war. . Move into the pause, stillness and space between your exhalation and inhalation, and take the evolutionary leap and connect to the evolutionary impulse of a friendly empathic universal love. Let us evolve love, an outrageous love, a universal love surrounded by creativity and wisdom, to teach, heal and guide yourself, others and the planet. Evolve Love John Childers

Rule by the Public - Living life gracefully, with dignity. Time and time again we were foolish enough to trust, believe, and support politicians, only to find ourselves betrayed and cheated. Instead of voting elites in and out. Instead of voting policies up or down. What we need is not different rulers, but to rule ourselves. Not, as some may suppose, a theory of the future to be realised through divine inspiration or revolution. Instead, proposals are presented by anyone, worked and reworked or reinvented, a process of compromise, until one ends up with something everyone can live with, with the building of a consensus. Identifying power, then questioning and challenging it to justify itself. A social order based on the free grouping of individuals for the purpose of producing real social wealth and harmony whilst maintaining the sovereignty of the individual. Constantly creating new conditions for the enjoyment of the necessities of life, according to individual desires, tastes, and inclinations. Behaving with Integrity, self-reliance, and courage, with an emphasis of the importance of observation, investigation, and reflection. It is the living force in the affairs of our life - An ardent love and respect of yourself and of others. It is really a very simple notion. Believing human beings are capable of behaving in a reasonable fashion without having to be forced. - Self-organisation, voluntary association, mutual aid, egalitarian decision-making. A sortition of sorts. But it’s one that the rich and powerful have always found extremely dangerous - Rule by the Public.

XR are doing what makes them feel better but I truly believe its all too late. We needed to begin in 1990 with aggressive reduction in Co2 levels so by now we would be in trouble but manageable. Starting now in these beta stages is doing nothing to reduce the impact on the planet. So many people cabon born every day all needing far more than what the planet can give. New coal plants being opened every week in China. We are accelerating in destruction staggeringly fast with no signs yet that we are turning anything around. Follow-up answers to my previous post here being questioned: Robin, Thanx for replying. As a scientist, because she's dealing with inspiring, if not leading, for she's part of the supposed science supremacy with all that means, the youth in their attempts to stop their having to watch their kids die before their eyes at 20 from climate change emergency, etc., she has the inherirt responsibility to inform them of these issues; or, she could be consteued for another 'progressed' type of convolutionary for the corporate structure's convolution- digging the extinction hole deeper in the only way they find they can (without overt objection, etc.), etc., no? For e.g., third only to the oligarchy and the supposed Christian supremacy, the supposed science supremacy is central to dictating the extinction of humanity, large mammals and Earth-murder to total destruction of the Earth (if not all the inner planets of our Solar System). "...It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain..." (Elton John, from his great album and song, 'Empty Garden'), one instant can damage so much Grace, yet, abominable that only 400 years of supposed science, one instant, evolutionarily, destroyed what it took 15 billion years to create, us, Earth! Extinction is forever and no one will wear it well, the corporate structure's convolution need not con anyone, we let them steer our perceptions and ships. Instead, walking in nature's balance, giving back to her abundance, "...we(e)...", illimitable in potential, and indivisible as life, evince to be! All life are needed threads in the fabric of life, "...we(e),...", can't allow to be torn asunder. There's only one physical constant in the evolving Cosmos, constant change. Thanx for all you do. Have a great day :) reality If not you, who, here, where, now, then when; humanity's time's short, the hour's late.

so so helpful! thank you. One thing that I've noticed here and in some videos I recently watched from Roger Hallam is the use of the term 'hippy' as a negative and it irks me. I/m aware that while I don't call myself a 'hippy', I do place a lot of value on the things that are termed 'hippy', 'woo woo', 'spiritual' and also hold the view that science and spirituality are becoming more unified and think that the 'sacred' is needed more and more in this movement and society, so its personal for me... but then also, from a 'we welcome all people and all parts of all people' perspective, the repeated use of 'hippy' as a 'bad' thing doesn't feel welcoming and could push a lot of people into the outer, who feel like they don't have a place in this movement or that their contributions aren't as valid.

There is a Permaculture principle which states ‘The problem is the solution’. Sounds very Zen, but by closely examining the root cause of a problem we get a deeper understanding of possible solutions that not only solve the issues but bring other benefits too. For example, I don’t have a slug problem in my garden, I have a deficit of frogs. By building a small pond, I can encourage frogs into my garden reducing my slug problem and increasing wildlife biodiversity at the same time. With a problem as serious as single-use plastic pollution, it is going to take refection and imagination to discover the solution. Could we create a plastic that decomposed in the sea into food for fish? We could then reduce the need for fossil fuel plastic, increase fish stocks and maintain the really useful purposes that plastic give us; preserving food, lightweight etc. If we can not do the impossible, we will wind up with the unthinkable.

The Valerie Kaur talk mentioned is indeed quite impressive. There is some interesting stuff in here, and I know she is trying to stick to a science/reality-based worldview, but I still find rather a lot of this a bit woo-tastic, and I'm not sure it has very wide appeal in terms of persuading people that XR are not crazy hippies :-) I guess I have an 'orange' (science) consciousness :-) Still, an interesting attempt to synthesise an 'ecology of theories of change'.
@maggieadams86005 жыл бұрын
The science of climate change hasn't changed, it's still an emergency, and it does require us to look and act from different perspectives lest we continue on the same trajectory, which is dangerous in the extreme isn't it? Anything other than the mode of thinking we've been living in is bound to feel odd to us. "A human being is a part of a whole, called by us "universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection of a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in it's beauty. Albert Einstein.

No talk of the evolution, when humanity needs to make an evolutionary leap in order to avoid the dictated extinction of it? A cityscape. Hands only put to heart, beings only art. Viva la evolucion. Science is fantastic for identifying problems and I love science, however where it can fall down is in creating the conditions for change, inspiration and transformation for a large proportion of the population, many of whom are not so into science. If the population were all scientists then we would have sorted this a long time ago! An open mind about other disciplines and what they might bring to the table in order to get as many people behind the message coming from our scientists is required. Might I also remind all people who are part of XR that we all take care of the type of language we use to discuss how we may best achieve the three aims. Let's show are politicians we can do better and model a mature way to discuss. It is so important in these divisive times that we treat each other with mutual respect and admiration for the unique gifts we all bring to this vast and complex problem which spans not only hard and soft scientific disciples but also community, spirituality, holism and what it means to be human.
@reapertutorialitalia3 жыл бұрын
The problem is your inability to see that science is not a philosophy and, therefore, can not oppose philosophical views expressed by a phrase like "the universe has purpose". You are extrapolating a sort of religion from science saying that these views are nonsense. Your world view is called materialism, it has nothing to do with science. Science is about testing hypothesis, it is limited to this. I find very disturbing, as a scientist, that people use it as a world view, or as a religion. Science will never be a world view.

I think you are missing a key point. All past demonstrations were focused on improving some segment of the population lives. This demonstration asks for sacrifice and lowering industrialized nations standard of living. The 3.5 % doesn't apply. Very few people are willing to give up their comforts and conveniences for what they consider an uncertain future. I think it was Pogo who said "We have met the enemy and it is us". We have a choice to do it intentionally or it will be done to us catastrophically. The most meaningful, productive, helpful thing we can do is pray. We are at the point when our only chance is divine intervention. Our current system is broken, and like Humpty Dumpty, can't be put back together again.
