Thank you, Nan. Bon appetit! Lissa Maris of Raw Food Romance is a recipe developer and I find a lot of her recipes fit in quite nicely the Dr. Goldner's protocol. I've been on the fence about Dr. G's recipe book because it's not available as an ebook (which I prefer) but seeing what you're making has nudged me closer to getting it.

Hi Apple, I like what Lissa creates, and I love her passion. Dr G’s book is not to that caliber, but worth having, and I’m using it quite a bit. 🌻🥰🌻

Zoodles makes me quite upset lol. Every time I think about them I get flustered, probably because spaghetti makes me think of warm pasta that gives you a big of a hug. Zoodles is cold and usually isn't packed with spices/flavor. I haven't had it for at least 10yrs since I first went vegan, so now that I'm back on the raw journey, I should give it another chance! Love all that basil you added 😍
@NanSimonsenАй бұрын
Funny thing Pelemorra, is that I made this last night, and added even more basil. The other thing is that I agree with you. I’m Italian. Pasta is hot, chewy, and very satiated. However, I am so dedicated to this hyper nourishment journey, and how much more I will get out of this dish then I would a plate of pasta and cooked sauce, that I’m all in. As they say we’re not talking never, we’re just talking not now. The other thing is that I have become quite cognizant of the difference between healing food and fun food. Pasta will remain for me, the latter. And I will make more of a point then before-although I was strictly WFPB- to include more healing foods on a regular basis. Thank you so much for checking in with me and sharing.🌻👏🌻

again, I agree with you! I have had pain for nearly a year due to a torn meniscus. That’s considered mechanical not inflammatory, but that pain is gone now because the body-wide inflammation, that fed the pain, is clearly subsiding. Isn’t it super cool?!🎉💝🥳

@@NanSimonsen thank you so much. Question: with drinking so much liquid, does it make us go to bathroom multiple times in the middle of the night? Did you stop drinking after certain hours? Thank you for sharing.
@NanSimonsenАй бұрын
great question Steph, and an important one. I’ve watched dozens and dozens of her Q&A Wednesdays, and I heard her say that the daily multiple times of using the restroom, and the urgency improves both day and night. and it does. I’ve also heard her say “don’t drink anything 2 to 3 hours before you go to bed”. That’s a tuffy because we become used to drinking lots, and often, and to stop, doesn’t feel right. But when I adopted that, or just a tiny sip if needed, I cut the restroom breaks way down. I remember nights when I was up five times in the beginning.😅. So yes, there’s hope.🥰🌻🥰

Hi! Thank you for your interest, and for connecting. I will definitely post results as I see change, and especially after the labs are in after the 6 weeks. I won’t stay completely raw-I will have whole grains, legumes, potatoes, and soups again, but I will include more raw foods than I did before, starting with the inclusion of the daily smoothie. Stay tuned😅 🌻🥰🌻

Hi Nan! New subscriber here- because I found your videos about doing Dr.G’s protocols! Thank you so much for these helpful videos! I am still struggling to get in that much water in a day- do you have any tricks for how to drink all of the smoothie plus all of the water? Also, is “roasted garlic” raw? That part confused me.
@NanSimonsenАй бұрын
First of all, wow, you’re right! Heck no, roasted garlic isn’t raw. That slipped right by me. Thanks! About the water, i keep a chart-2 to 3 16 oz glasses, starting when I wake, then before my sauna, and sips of the 3rd off and on. Then I have a 22oz flask that I carry around all day, with the goal to fill it twice. And then 42-44 oz water in the smoothie. I break up my “breakfast”with most of a 32 oz container of smoothie before my morning 30 min to 1 hr bike ride, then another throughout the rest of the morning, and some at lunch. Then the rest of the smoothie before dinner. It’s a lot, and not easy, but I’m on day 20 and it is becoming easier on me and my system. You have to personalize it to your schedule, and your body adapts. I hope this helps.🌻🥰🌻

@@NanSimonsen Thank you so much for responding and sharing all of that! Yes, breaking up the day & associating the water with different tasks (I think James Clear calls that “habit-stacking”) would help so much! You are really helping and inspiring me & so many others😊

I use extra virgin oil, what is your take on that Nan? By the way thank you for your delicious videos.
@NanSimonsen2 күн бұрын
Hi Jacqueline, most of the oils that we buy, or get in restaurants, are very high in omega sixes, which interfere with the omega threes that Dr. Goldner‘s protocol focuses on. The flax and Chia oil is the only one that is loaded with threes and next to no sixes. Olive oil has the rather neutral omega nine fatty acids, but it’s still a 12:1 ratio of six over three. People love olive oil for its polyphenol’s. But for health purposes, I’m very much focusing on the oils that heal, and leaving all the others out. I can easily get polyphenols in food. By the way, to maintain the omega-3 fatty acids, flax, and Chia oils must not be heated, or exposed to air, oxidize very easily. That’s a wordy and roundabout way of answering your question. in addition, I don’t go out of my way to have oil due to its very, very high caloric density, I’d rather eat that food, although I’ll have food with healthy fat in it, like avocado, because that works well in this protocol. Thanks for watching, and thanks for your question 🌻🥰🌻

To thicken the marinara sauce just add a raw carrot, white button mushroom(s) and or some raw cauliflower… just a few at a time until the consistency you desired is obtained

@NanSimonsenАй бұрын
Dr Goldner recommends that if we’re drinking the amount of water she is suggesting, we add a teaspoon of salt daily. I don’t have an easy way of figuring that considering how many dishes I make, including salad dressings, but I’m not avoiding it as I was before. I hope that’s helpful. 🌻🥰🌻
