I'm so impressed how this man lives and breaths this way of life. Imagine realizing that the traditional Thanksgiving meal is the healthiest meal the average American will eat! The potatoes, yams, green veggies -- green beans at my Mom's house -- salad, raw vegs and dip...Gosh, with a loaf based on grains or beans and and a whole grain bread, it truly is a great and healthy meal!

Thank you, again, Chef AJ and Dr McDougall. My vegan mother had breast cancer. 99% was contributed to estrogen. Her "lump" started the size of a pea. She had the lump removed and we decided together, not to have chemo and radiation. She lived 14 years longer than what her surgeons thought she should.

I think this lecture by Dr. McDougall is a triumph. I've read several of his books and seen presentations from the residential program. But this lecture is so thoughtful, elegant, and concise, and the delivery full of passion and compassion, you can feel his life's work going into every word. Thank you Dr. McDougall, Mary McDougall, and Chef AJ.

I would absolutely love to see an interview with him as well as Dr. Kristi Funk and Dr. Jenn Simmons creator of the QT scan that has just come out as an alternative to mammography. Thanks so much for this very informative and impactful content!

Two wonderful, delightful, John's (and of course Mary and AJ) made my day. He is so right... this way of eating is NOT difficult... until you leave your home! If only there were restaurants with "McDougall approved" options on the menu! It's kind of ironic that one of the easiest places to stay compliant is at a "steakhouse", where a plain baked potato and ample appropriate toppings from the salad bar make a delightful meal! I never liked meat so it's not an issue for me, but for those who would still find too many temptations there, someone needs to start a simple "fast food" McDougall chain... a baked potato bar with ample fixins and a daily soup!

I'm at beginning of video, have to take a break to say how moved, energized, touched, and inspired I am by The Special Guest, John Ditarsio (spelling?). Great ideas, and I am loving listening to him, with his humor and warmth and passion and intelligence. Had to listen a second time. And thank you, all, for this production! Dr. McD got me on the road to health. I was so amazed to hear about the trouble with oil, and that one can live easily without it!

God love John McDougall, but I did have to search beyond Starchitarianism because my fingernails were weak and splitting after a year on the diet (I had had that problem on and off a lot of my life), and it didn't help with very debilitating arthritis (or tendon/cartilage) problems in one hip and one knee (more mild in the other as well). Once I started including much more greens (3-5 cups, both raw and cooked), beans, simmered 'shrooms, 2 ounces of seeds and nuts, and several pieces of fruit every day, as well as some supplements recommended by Joel Fuhrman, MD, my nails hardened right up, and my arthritis has receded.

@laurah.8405
@laurah.8405 2 жыл бұрын
I took it to mean that women should have the "lumpectomy with clear margins" first, and then if the tumor comes back, go for the radiation and more aggressive surgery. In 60% of women the tumor will not come back so no need for them to have the radiation and/or radical sugery.

Is this high carb/ starch vegan/ vegetarian diet good for type two diabetes and fatty liver with cirrhosis of the liver? Our bodies do not process carbs Correctly and continue to store them on the liver as more fat. High starch causes more build up of fat in the liver. Talk about people with cirrhosis and is high carb diets healthy for us?? Maybe the world would just rather have us all die off and no one tells us the truth on how we can stay in stage one compensated cirrhosis for as long as possible.... Before moving onto stage 2 compensated then dreadfully to stage 3 decompensation and then the final stage 4 which people are usually pretty sick on stage 3 and deadly sick in stage 4 . mine is non alcohol cirrhosis. They say there is no cure and I am 64. I have type two diabetes. What diet should we eat or does it matter. I think to slow it down is atleast something! Thank you

@stevethewindsurfer8911
@stevethewindsurfer8911 2 жыл бұрын
As for the radiation in microwaves, it is completely harmless. Microwaves use low frequency electromagnetic radiation - the same kind used in lightbulbs and radios. If you’re eating crops grown from sunlight, you shouldn’t be concerned about food from a microwave. Unlike X-rays, microwaves don’t use ionising radiation, which means they don’t carry enough energy to detach electrons from atoms.
