@@evolvingsoul2370 I actually am an expert in how opiates effect the body before death and I absolutely know that opiates depress breathing even before you fall into a coma. His drug use was a deciding factor in his death. Along with the fact that he had people on top of him. But if he’d been a healthy, normal human being he would have survived, I’m almost sure of it. One expert at a trial doesn’t mean much. I agree he was convincing but he was being disingenuous about the dangers of opiates.

That is one impressive Irish Doctor. I never really understood what happened to Mr Floyd until Dr Tobin explained it in court. I think his video is going to become part of police training to avoid this problem in future. Maybe with subtitles as he does not speak standard America english. He was not even paid for his work in court. Being Irish he was seen as the impartial outsider.

This is the restraint method that is taught.; healthy people that aren't overdosing have no problem with this restraint which is why it's preferred over tasering. It takes over 500 pounds, and in Floyd,s case probably over 1000 pounds on his lungs to keep him from breathing. @imjustadog1897
@imjustadog1897 3 жыл бұрын
@Barry Burton Bull. I just watched the video of the lethal doses of fentanyl. If Floyd was really as high as many claim, he wouldn’t have been able to kick or scream. He would have been out long before he was put on the ground. He’d be damn near comatose. If he was overdosing while in police custody, they should have put him in a recovery position, not in a restraining position. That crowder experiment was similar, but not the same. The guy was resting mostly on his shoulders. Even when he was on his neck, he wasn’t kneeling like Chauvin was. Also there was a third officer who was on Floyd’s back.
@imjustadog1897
@imjustadog1897 3 жыл бұрын
@Barry Burton That was a given that Crowder wasn’t high. There was one officer missing in his experiment and the positions his guys took weren’t the same. Again, the amount of drugs in Floyd’s system wasn’t lethal. Anyone overdosing on fentanyl isn’t screaming or moving around. If Floyd was complaining about not being able to breathe before he was taken out of the cruiser, why would Chauvin put him in a position where breathing would be more difficult? If Floyd was overdosing while in police custody, why didn’t Chauvin put his subject in a recovery position long before the ambulance arrived?

@Carbon_6 "Can't breath" is subjective in this sense. But if you absolutely can not move any air through the vocal cords you can not talk. The ability to talk clearly and in complete sentences decreases as ventilation is compromised. It's kind of like when you run and get out of breath really bad. You can only speak one word at a time because you have to catch your breath. Various degrees of dyspnea will result in varying degrees of ability to talk. The ones who are most dyspnic sometimes struggle to get just one word out. Those are usually the ones who get intubated. Depending on the etiology of the dyspnea if a person can get a couple of words out intubation may be avoided with other prompt interventions.

If we can believe the rumors about GF then shall we also believe what we heard about Chauvin? They say he had a history of roughing up Black people especially and using excessive force; doesn’t that mean he also deserves death? He doesn't have to prove anything because they gave the defense his testimony the night before, giving them very little time to actually disprove his stuff. Ever since the Floyd stuff came out I've been doing research into the effects of fentanyl on the body, along with watching some documentaries on the fentanyl drug epidemic in the U.S. and Canada. One doesn't have to be an expert in order to learn more about things, and the fact that we can seek out second opinions is extremely commonplace. Sometimes, the doctor isn't always right, and by his own admission to Nelson, he's making some assumptions with his view on the case (although again, due to his bias, he refuses to fully admit this).

@@Cl0ckcl0ck Correct, it did not show. However, his heart failure was due to a combination of factors, many of which were related to his difficulty to breath, which, by most means, was related to his positioning by the officer. Drugs were likely also a factor and that is important to consider in contributing to his lack of breathing (it's important not to rule them out). Understand though, that it's possible to suffocate even if no clear damage has been done to his throat. Just because the autopsy doesn't show any harm done to his throat, this does not rule out the suffocation claim as, once again, heart failure can be caused from a lack of oxygen. @Chris Young it’s easy to assume that George chugged down many pills than it is to see a cop not give proper aid to someone who was already in distress. Why keep adding stress to an already distressed person/situation? He could’ve just turned him over on his side, after he commented on not being able to breathe. Chauvin wasn’t alone so they could handled a simple request 🙄

@@sirmister9099 because it was an inaccurate depiction. First off, the person in Crowder's recreation had his leg more so than the tip of the knee (that will be important later on) on Crowder's shoulder blade area instead of on the neck. Secondly, the side of the neck, which is where Derek was applying pressure, is where the carotid artery is located which affects the respiratory system as well as supply blood flow to the brain and applying pressure to that is going to be much more hazardous than on the shoulder blade area. Thirdly, the tip of the knee was placed, at best, about 2-3 inches away from the carotid artery and that is going to cause a much greater impact because of the fact that the tip of the knee is not as cushioned by adipose tissue and muscle than the upper part of the claves, thus cutting off more circulation in the artery
