@@keepgoing7533 It shows his family doesn't actually care about him. Independence is a separate thing from having a support system in place that shows up. They're not mutually exclusive. Every independent person still has times where they depend on others to make things happen. We're social creatures after all, not solitary ones. What this young man is experiencing is neglect from his family unit, not a moment of independence. This is the definition of a time where human beings need to band together and tackle a social issue together. I feel very sorry for him and understand his position completely as someone who's gone no contact with her own parents for not being there when I needed them the most.

Yes I went through childhood trauma and I was morbidly obese. Even when I lost the weight it took me a long time not to binge when I got around my family just thinking about the past. Him still living with his family may be the reason if he fails. His mother is his stress and he can't see that because all he wants to do is help her.

i lost 120 lbs and indeed gained almost everything back in a matter of 4-5 years. The most difficult part is indeed not falling back to your old eating habits, which is easier said than done. I am now back on track going to the gym 7 days a week, and i lost 50lbs already in the last 3 months. Pray for me.

Obesity isn't genetic, obesity is caused by people consuming too much calories and having a mindset of: "Food won't cause harm me, food will protect me." Note: He's overweight due to overeating.

My hip, feet, back, neck and shoulder have all sustained a lot of problems that have existed for over 10 years. As a result I’ve become sedentary so my musculature has started to atrophy.

This guys parents have failed him and his sister miserably in life. Passed their abuse of food onto the next generation. I know two brothers that come to the gym that are probably 150 pounds overweight - told me their mother stacks plates of food up for them to eat and gets mad if they don’t eat all of it… Some people shouldn’t have kids

I have appreciation for this program/show. It educated me on the realities of food addiction, and how it is no different of a dynamic and result than drug addiction. In fact, I’m feeling like food addiction is worse as it can bring you to a state of dependence due to deprived functionality. Be kind always. You don’t know what a person is going through.

If you don't find some healthier way to cope with boredom, loneliness, anxiety, depression and low self esteem. You will return to your self destructive habits.
