I fully agree with *Ape* being a sever enabler "In Bam's case" but I don't think it should be put on her. *Bam* is a 40 year old grown man with a son.. Or if he's one of those lucky few, he can see the problem while he is ON drugs...when a "higher power" of some kind steps in for him to see his "ways" and to help guide him on a much better path. Whether drugs are in the picture or not, if he doesn't see how certain people perceive him, then he will not know what people are even talkin about. Until we are aware of our own behaviors and our own doings, and fully conscious of them, then you will never know what everyone else sees. Unfortunately, we are all programmed to be a certain way. Right from birth. Whatever we surround ourselves with, whatever we hear growing up and whomever we surround ourselves with (by choice or not), without even knowing it, we are subconsciously taking in everything around us. Until we come to grips on what we subconsciously take in, we can never consciously work on the information we subconsciously take in or out or consciously want to take in or out of us. The mind is truly something special. The mind is VERY powerful. Our minds are much more powerful than anything or any substance on this planet. The power of belief.

My mother crossed every line imaginable in terms of when I was in a past relationship, but I was fortunate enough to be able to sit her down a few years ago to talk and she ACTUALLY listened to me. She’s stopped being a “just-no mom” and respects my fiancé and I’s relationship, no longer sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong and I thank her for that. But I know that so many mothers (and some fathers) out there never stop, even after begging, pleading, or talking, so sometimes ppl are forced to go full no contact or have very little. It’s sad that grown adults have to do that with any parent, but sometimes there’s no other option. I feel for you, I know what it’s like. I do hope things get better between you and your mom!

It feels like he is stuck in his teenage years when he had no boundaries from his family. He built his career on not having any boundaries or limits. Destroying everything, shocking everyone, doing crazy stuff. He made millions doing that. Feels like he can’t cope with adulthood (not a lot of people can, I sure have issues myself). No shade here or offense, but I thought he was gay since Jackass days for some reason. I was actually surprised that he is married to a woman 🤷🏼♀️ I wish him healing.

The pressure society puts on itself is incredible. He seemed never really be into his wifes. Minimum affection and care. When I saw a montage of Bam and that Finnish singer. They were all over each other. Hugging, holding, snuggling, smiling, happy. He is definitely able to deeply connect with men. Plus Dunn’s death on top of that. It seems like he didn’t really have good friends he could trust besides Ryan. It’s really complicated. His current state is a combination of so many things.

Honestly Dr. Phils advices suck. He shouldn't cut his mom out of his life...he will feel even worse...and more alone. She really cares about him and she's worried. It's true that sometimes too much of it can suffocate you, but better that then something happening to him, considering his mental state. Idk it feels like Phil looks at him as lost cause, and doesn't even bother. Says some advices from the book based on what Bam says. I'm just really frustrated about the amount of hate surrounding him. As much as it is, it's not completely his fault that his whole life is on the Internet, and we see everything about him. I will always love Bam through good and bad, and finger's crossed that my childhood inspiration gets better. ❤

Of course he can't stand to stay there alone, and of course the sort of people who go squat on an old MTV set for weeks aren't typically going to be upstanding members of society. People love saying he acts like this because he lost Ryan Dunn but we've all lost people before, some even more horribly than he did, yet we somehow managed to live life and maintain ourselves. When I was just 6 years old my father was an alcoholic and blew his head off in the back yard with a 12-gauge and I was the one who found him. Three years later at 9 years old I found my mother deceased on the couch from a drug overdose. I then went through numerous foster families, all of which had some kind if issue (physical abusers, alcoholics, drugs), yet I still made it and I was NEVER like Bam. I've been married 35 years now to the only woman I will ever love. You can't always blame bad behavior because of past trauma(s). Today young people's lives are easier than any other time in history and most don't have the first clue what real hardship is.

Everyone needs to understand. He's not "acting like a child." He, by his own choice, destroyed his brain with drugs and alcohol, and permanently damaged his brain. He also probably hit his head a lot, and it's possible he fell asleep one point with a concussion, thus impairing his speech. He's also clearly going through some withdrawals or is currently high/drunk on the show, making his speech and sentence structure very limited. But regardless. Bam's brain is permanently damaged. He's able to express himself, and emotions like remorse and self reflection, but the anger and defensiveness are more of an intense emotion to feel. He's trapped within himself. It's so, very sad to see. And so much love and support Bam's way. I've been watching his life on screen since I was a kid. So glad he's reaching out for help ❤️❤️
@VelcroPajamas5 жыл бұрын
You make a valid point. However, without him being sober, medically treated; medicated by a physician and psychiatrist - with the accurate diagnoses, there's no real way to tell at this very moment where he is cognitively, socially or mentally. There could also be underlying personality disorder.
@Sunny_psyche5 жыл бұрын
@@VelcroPajamas Absolutely. 100% in agreement. My point was more that, he's not choosing to act immature because he necessarily wants to, but because he can't help it, and to list a few of the many reasons why. Him having so much untreated trauma is bound to create a form of disorder in relation to anxiety and depression. Cheers 🍻

@@VelcroPajamas I won't deny his emotional immaturity. He's limited to the age he started doing drugs. Dr. Phil said something like, "You can develop intellectually and physically, but you didn't develop proper coping skills by abusing drugs and alcohol." And compared it to emotional maturity with age. I think the same thing kinda goes for Bam. He's got the emotional maturity of a 19-22 year old boy. 🤷♀️

This makes me so sad because I remember 15 years ago watching his shows and thinking how awesome he was and how funny and productive he was with the Jackass crew. Ever since Ryan Dunn passed away it seems as though Bam started going down the wrong path in life. And going down the wrong path can become mentally challenging to look up from especially when you have no hope for the future. I feel bad because he knows exactly where he’s at in his life and I’m sure he wants to change for the better-but addiction takes lots of focus and motivation to move on from. All we can do as his fans is encourage him to do better with himself. Once you’ve hit rock bottom the only direction to go is back up.
