That's not to say that there isn't truth in it but fundamentally the Gospel isn't life is unfulfilling and Christ gives fulfilment while that in and of itself is true, it is not the Gospel. The Gospel is we have sinned against God and we are deserving of hell but God in His mercy has provided a way of salvation through the death and resurrection of His Son Christ Jesus. And if we repent and trust in Christ alone we are forgiven our sins and have a place prepared for us to spend eternity with our Saviour. That message Zacharias gave was very man-centred and we shouldn't be preaching a man-centred Gospel.

@@bigspin6309 you know the bible clearly lays out the Gospel by which we are saved, and what you wrote didn't mention his death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. He did not give the gospel. He said we are separated due to sin from God and that Jesus offers a relationship with us/Him but Ravi did not say that Jesus fulfilled the Law and died in our place and rose again on the third day as per the Scriptures. That's the good news.

I have listen to and enjoyed Ravi for thirty years, but several years back I came to a realization: I have never heard Ravi give a clear explanation of the gospel. Without an explanation of how Jesus' death on the cross- taking the punishment that I deserve- there is no gospel. I am absolutely certain that I never heard him explain Christ's righteousness imputed to the believer which allows us to stand acceptable before a holy God. I have heard Ravi say that he saw his role as an apologist as defending the Christian worldview. Certainly there is a need for that, but if we converted the whole world to a Christian worldview but didn't give them the gospel they would still perish. Listen to Ravi's answer to a questioner as to whether Roman Catholicism is a variant of Christianity or a departure from it.(KZbin: Is Roman Catholicism a cult?) He hesitates, obfuscates, and in the end proclaims that salvation is by following Christ the best that you know how. That is the same answer that was given to me when I asked a Catholic seminary student how he expected to get to heaven. Ravi often held up Mother Theresa as a great example of a Christian saint, yet she believed that salvation could be gained through other religions. He also was a great fan on Henry Nouwen who he referred to as the greatest saint in our time. Noewen was a catholic priest, mystic, and one who also believed salvation could be found outside of explicit faith in Christ. I know it sound harsh to point these things out just a few days after Ravi died, but these are not nit-picking issues- the gospel is at stake (Galatians 1:16-10) Ravi is being heralded as the greatest Christian evangelist of the 21st century. But how can you be a great evangelist without an evangel? (clear gospel presentation)

get into Gods word, sometimes depression comes to make us closer to God...its not an attack of the enemy...you can have joy but be depressed. Look at Paul...he had a thorn in his flesh that the Lord would not remove. Because his grace is sufficient. So, read your Bible and Pray and get closer to God. Then you need to serve and spread the gospel with other people. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, if you have confessed Christ as your savior, you eternal destiny is sealed in Jesus. Just have faith in him, that he who started a good work in you will bring it to completion. Use your mental health issues to get closer to God, he allowed it to happen for a reason.

Just because people put scriptures , as being what we call the old testament , and gospel as the new testament ; they are the same ; the words of The Most High God , the Father ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ; Hebrews 4:1-2 ) . People error because they are not equipped with the one thing that God say we must have , FAITH . People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sin s ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . By living a righteous life , unblemlish without sin , Jesus was not worthy to die as we are ; so he died not for himself , but for ALL who have transgressed the laws of the Father ; which is given to ALL who have ever lived ; that how he defeated death , by overcoming sin . By defeating sin ; which brings on death , now ALL will be resurrected from their first tabernacle ( body ) , and live forever in their second tabernacle ( body ) ; but can we dwell with the Father , if we die in our first tabernacle in sin ? 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you , that God is light , and in him is no darkness at all . If we say that we have fellowship with him , and walk in darkness , we lie , and do not the truth : But if we walk in the light , we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SINS " . The free gift redeems you from the sins of the first death , the grave , but to dwell with the Father in his kingdom , something else is required . This is what Jesus Christ said , as he started his ministry in Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand :REPENT YE , AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL " . The God of Israel has always required that you repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart ( like king David did in Psalm 32 & 51 ) ; and believe by obedience ; which means to start keeping his laws/commandments/instructions ; which includes all covenants ; that's how you have faith with him , by obedience . The gospel that Jesus taught are the same words that Moses & the prophets gave in the scriptures ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ) ; which are the words of the Father . Remember what Moses said to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 , " The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee , of thy brethren , like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken ; ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THOU DESIREDST OF THE LORD THY GOD IN HOREB IN THE DAY OF THE ASSEMBLY , SAYING , LET ME NOT HEAR AGAIN THE VOICE OF THE LORD MY GOD , NEITHER LET ME SEE THIS GREAT FIRE ANYMORE , THAT I DIE NOT . And the LORD said unto me , They have well spoken thatwhich they have spoken . I WILL RAISE THEM UP A PROPHET FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN , LIKE UNTO THEE , AND WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH ; AND HE SHALL SPEAK UNTO THEM ALL THAT I SHALL COMMAND HIM . The second sin that the blood of Jesus cleaneth you from requires repentance and faith ; which means to believe by obedience ; this redeems you from the second death ; which is the lake of fire . By redeeming you fromthe first death of the grave with the free gift , now your tabernacle , or body from heaven ( 1 Corinthians 15:35-38,42-51 ) is in danger of the lake of fire ; because you cannot dwell with the Father in darkness ( sin ) . Before the children of Israel were given the law of animal sacrifice for the first tabernacle or body , the God of Israel required all men to live by faith ( repenting of their sins with a sorrowful heart ( mind ) and start walking in the light ) ; Why does Proverbs24:16 say this : Proverbs 24:16 , " For a just man falleth seven times , and riseth up again : but the wicked shall fall into mischief " ? Answer , if a just man falleth seven times , then he is redeemed seven times by repenting and believing like king David ; remember this was long before Jesus came in the flesh . For the atonement of sin , it requires a sacrifice ; a sacrifice through a priesthood . What priesthood was around at the time of Abraham ? Answer , The priesthood of Melchisedec . How was Melchisedec identified in Hebrews 7 ? ( King of Righteousness , King of Salem , King of peace , without father , without mother , without descent , having neither beginning of days , nor end of life ; but made like unto the Son of God ; abideth a priest continually ) . Now , who does this look like ? ( Micah 5:1-2 , Luke 1:26-33 , Romans 10:4 , Romans 1:1-4 ) . Remember the Word created the heavens and the earth , and all things that is ; and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . What did Jesus say in John 5:37 ? ( John 5:37 , " And the Father himself , which hath sent me , hath borne witness of me . Ye have neither heard his voice at any time , nor seen his shape " ) ; which means that the one most call Yahweh , or Jehovah , or I AM , or God Almighty , or The God of Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob , and Melchisedec ; is none other then the one who came in the Father's name in John 5:43 . The one we call Jesus Christ created us , and has been interceding for us as high priest from the beginning of the creation ( Melchisedec at the time of Abraham ) , until it is completed ( Jesus Christ now ) ; which is the white throne judgement . The apostle Paul explains this ( Romans 5:13-14 , " For until the law sin was in the world : but sin is not imputed when there is no law . Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses , even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression , who is the figure of him that was to come " ) . What is sin ? Answer , the transgression of the law of God ( 1 John3:4 ) . Paul stated that until the law ( what law ? ) , sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God was in the world , but sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God is not imputed ( represents something undersirable as been done , caused , or possesed by someone ) when there is no law . This law is not the commandments/instructions of God ; which includes all the covenants , but a sin sacrifice law that came at the time of Moses ; the law of animal sacrifice of works ; which was not of faith ( Romans 3:27-28 ) . Once you fell under this law , which was written in the book of the law of the priesthood , under the mediator Moses ( Leviticus ) ; it had to be carried out , just as it is written ; no grace or mercy . When the children of Israel went into a covenant with the Father in the wilderness , all their sins were forgiven ; the only thing that they waited on was the promise to redeem ALL MEN from the sins of the first death , the grave . When the children of Israel begin to break the laws of the Father and not repent by faith ; he gave to them , through their mediator Moses , the law of animal sacrifice for the body , of the earthly tabernacle ; to keep from killing their flesh , hoping that their would rethink themselves and repent by faith , before they die ; or they would die in their sins . @@CesarD321 well the first part could could be unpacked more for clarification. The good news is Jesus saves us...? That could mean universalism. You did add a clause.. "we must....". You are right about what is the gospel. But again the bible uses the word gospel in different ways. In narrow and broad ways. There are many examples. I will for now give another example. I will simply quote the verse and leave it at that. What is the gospel? Here's the apostle Paul. Roman 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Try, actually read the Holy Scriptures and try to find what Ravi said in this video in the Holy Scriptures! Jesus never talks about a relationship. Paul never talks about a relationship. John, and Peter, etc. etc. never talk about a relationship with Jesus for salvation! It's your FAITH in Jesus Christ alone that brings about salvation. Period.

I clicked on this video for the very purpose of seeing if he would give a clear answer or a convoluted philosophical explanation. I like Ravi Zacharias but I have been quite Disturbed with how he seems to always err on the side of trying to find a philosophical slant on Christianity which is sensible to the unsaved person and yet which deviates from the simple message of scripture.

I used to be a huge fan of Ravi in my nominal Christian days; back when my faith was determined by pure logic and rationalism (that is by philosophy). But I had no intimate, personal relationship nor love for God then. I resolved my religious conscience with apologetics, not a true, spiritual desire to know God through Christ Jesus. Since reforming my faith and being renewed in the Spirit, I find myself less and less attracted to Ravi. It seems to me that he is here, like he does in all his defenses of the Christian Gospel, reducing the Gospel to, "The gospel gives you meaning to life" or "the gospel gives you purpose in life" and that is not the Gospel at all. It's not about finding meaning to life, it's about God's redemption of a fallen mankind through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that all they who believe unto Him that He is the Son of the living God who is revealed throughout ancient Jewish history; that He is the promised Messiah of the laws and the prophets from this God, even though they are unholy and unrighteous will be declared righteous by Jesus Christ, who is our righteousness before God, our propitiation before God, so that they may be reconciled to God, forgiven eternally and spared the wrath of God, and be restored to what we were originally made for before the Fall of Man: To serve our God and Creator in eternity. It is a story of REDEMPTION, not a story of finding personal meaning to life.

He always ends with the gospel, that only in Jesus alone can we find joy, fulfillment. We can clearly see a message preached in the book of Acts (Acts 2:38) which resulted in the salvation of 3k sinners. When this message is preached in Acts 3:19 then we see 5k sinners coming to faith in Jesus Christ. How can you not say that this is the gospel message that we should be preaching? people here are bashing Ravi for his take on gospel. it was simple. the reason why you people may not grasp the weight of his words is because "I don't know". but I rejected my previous faith (Hinduism) coz I was lost. I tried finding purpose and meaning in my life but to no avail. if someone had told me, Jesus died for your sins and rose on the third day, I wouldn't have cared if I did not feel the need to have hope in life. my way of living did not satisfy me. I was desperate and suicidal. you see the timing? I went to leadership training and that's when I learned what sins are, what guilt is, what misery is, what desperation is, what depression is, what evil is, and finally what forgiveness is. you simply cannot take the corinthians or whatsoever scripture alone and make it the good news. Christ's life is good news. and we have to understand why people would want to listen to your good news in the first place. some people don't even think they need to hear the good news. you have to show the problem, and that is we cannot live life the way we want because we will end up miserable and suicidal. we have a greater purpose in life. then you find out the purpose and meaning of life and that's when you hear the good news and realize you need Jesus. so I believe Ravi did a great job.

I'll guess you would want Ravi to quote or read 1 Cor. 15 to answer the question. Paul certainly didn't write his Corinthian letters to give them the Gospel message since they were already followers of Jesus. So did Paul the apostle distort the Gospel in Acts 17:22ff? Here Paul speaks the Gospel to the men of Athens. He doesn't use the words of 1 Corinthians 15 to explain what the Gospel is because he was wise and led by Holy Spirit to approach these pagans (worldly people) from a philosophical starting point so that they would have a foundation to accept the truths of the Gospel. These men knew nothing of Jesus as they were too far removed in time and location from the events of A.D. 33. Others defend Paul's supposed methods in this passage saying that they drove him away so that he couldn't finish his presentation of the Gospel. Maybe. Maybe not. What can't be argued is that Paul doesn't choose to simply give his hearers his 1 Cor. 15 truths BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN POWERFUL OR EFFECTIVE in communicating the Good News. Imagine someone giving a Gospel presentation in english to a group of Pakistanis who don't speak english. That would be nonsense!!! In this video Ravi has explained the Gospel so that today's culture can connect the dots to their lives. Reading the truths of 1 Corinthians 15 to a group of people who don't understand the terms or the ideas is silliness. Just like today in American culture reading or quoting 1 Cor. 15 to the average person in American culture in A.D. 2017 is nearly always ineffective (and potentially creates a barrier to God's true invitation to join HIS kingdom) because the hearer does not understand the concepts of sin, God, God's glory, eternal life, Christ, etc. Remember also that Jesus himself brought the Gospel (Good News!) message (HE is the good news!) to Israel (only) and clearly he hadn't gone through his own death and resurrection yet (which ironically is a critically important PART of the Good News). As Paul wrote in Romans 1, "the gospel.....for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes." The Gospel's power is in the TRUTHS contained in it and the LIFE of Jesus behind it. Simply reading not-understood truths to unbelievers has no power behind it. The Gospel message was never meant to be redacted to be presented in a few sentences (as many do with passages in the books of Romans and 1 Corinthians, which were written to the Church). This is why Jesus chose twelve men to be with him for three years so that they would come to understand what the Gospel looks like lived out (in Jesus' life).

Hi Rick - You covered quite a bit there in your response. I'll try to respond in kind. On the Topic of Paul: Paul is clear throughout scripture that he has not preached another gospel - which there is not another. I don't embrace a synergistic concept of salvation - this notion that if you're convincing enough you can win hearts and souls for the Kingdom; I believe as Paul believed... "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..." And I imagine, the gospel message Paul preached is the same message he heard in Acts 7 before Stephen was stoned (in his presence). Keeping in mind, in Acts 17, "he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there." By Acts 17:18-21, a group of people challenged Paul because they could/did not understand what Paul was talking about. In Acts 17:23, Paul throws down, "So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship-and this is what I am going to proclaim to you." He dismantles their version of God. And then what does Paul do? By verse 31, he brings it back to Jesus. "...and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." And the response? Just as it is today. Some mocked Paul - but others said, "We will hear you again about this." Was it Paul that convinced them? Paul would never take such credit. I like the way the NASB translates 1 Cor. 3:6, "I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth." We preach preach the gospel. Jesus didn't ask us to preach relevant messages, seek out hip music, or start a social media campaign to reach the unchurched. No. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." God softens hearts, opens eyes, and moves people in faith. We're asked to preach the gospel. 1 Peter 3:15, "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect" Apologist often confuse this verse as an opportunity to use philosophy and logic to convince people of the truth - forgetting their is no power in philosophy (or simple logic) (1 Cor. 2:5), No, we preach the gospel and defend the gospel, this is biblical (Acts 5:42) And finally, let us remember the words of Jesus in Mark 4:14 (The Parable of the Sower), "The sower sows the word." Again, we're not asked to sow clever and relevant messages to trick folks to Christ by promising people their best life now... In fact Paul writes as much in Romans 10:17, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." On the Topic of Jesus.: What was the gospel of Christ? The Kingdom of God is near. To which any Jew would respond, "what does that even mean?" Of course, as you mentioned, it didn't have a clear meaning until the resurrection of Christ; only with a resurrected Christ do those called by God have a propitiation for their sins and the ability for fellowship with a Holy God (living in Christ). The summation of the good news is a restored relationship with God; then the natural question should be how does one embrace this restored relationship? Romans 10: 9-13. Then next common question after Romans 10:9-13 is back to Who is Jesus? And every question is answered with scripture - not hashtags and secular stories or philosophies. And he entire conversation starts and ends with the Good News! I also lovingly and respectfully ask you to defend your claims with biblical citation regarding "Jesus chose twelve men to be with him for three years so that they would come to understand what the Gospel looks like lived out (in Jesus' life)." Or that we are to be relevant to be understood. I'm afraid these are a modern emphasis which places a heavier yoke on believers than is asked. In fact, I would reference Romans 12:1-12, that we do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind... And we do this by studying our Bibles (1 Timothy 3:16 - 17) and sharing the word with others. And in closing, always remember Galatians 1:6-9 before getting too creative with a seeker sensitive gospel message... "Preach any other gospel than that we have preached to you let him be accursed." I would argue that every question is answered with Jesus himself not scripture. Scripture IS our authority but only in the sense that it originates from Holy Spirit and points to Jesus. I agree that the entire conversation starts and ends with the Good News -- because the Good News is Jesus himself! I don't place myself in the category of "seeker-sensitive." I'm simply convinced that the Gospel must be understood first as contained and expressed in Jesus himself (who brought God's kingdom) and second that the message must be preached with words that the recipients can understand. As I stated in my last post, I'm in good company as Paul did this. I wouldn't call Paul seeker-sensitive. "Seeker-sensitive" to me means using an approach that avoids offending "seekers" by giving them a watered down version of the Gospel that makes it easy to become a "Christian." I'd call Paul thoughtful and loving to those who aren't Jews. Preaching the Gospel of Jesus in America in 2017 can be complex and a process -- if you want to be effective in offering the lost eternal life (which Jesus defines as knowing Father and Jesus and not limiting it to going to heaven when you die) when explaining it to them. Some folks want to take the easy way and preach the "gospel" using terms and ideas that the hearers aren't familiar with. I'm a proponent of engaging with people by investing TIME with them so that they can see and experience the Gospel through our life AND our words. I argue that Jesus did this by choosing the twelve. You've asked me to defend my claims with biblical citation. Because I'm not listing the passages I'm quoting does not mean that I'm not using scripture as my authority and defense. I realize that we all want to keep the true Gospel pure; we fail though if we ascribe to the notion that we have been faithful and effective by simply erring on the side of "faithfulness" and robotically stating the truths of 1 Cor. 15 (or the "Romans Road" or John 3:16) and walking away from the hearers. I have enjoyed Ravi - in this case however I did not hear the name of Jesus until 3:10. Also, i heard nothing of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ - or that Jesus is GOD in the flesh. Or that Jesus is the MESSIAH and eternal King. the Gospel is that Jesus is the CHRIST, the Messiah - the promised Ruler of the Universe. He is God who became a man - Jesus Died on our behalf that God might not judge us for our sinfulness and Jesus resurrected bodily. The RESULT of us believe this good news is eternal life in Christ in God.

@@johniii8400 If the gospel is not Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) came down from heaven, lived a sinless life, and willingly laid down His life out of His love and mercy by being crucified on the cross 2,000 years ago to pay the sin debt of the whole world, He was buried, and He rose bodily from the grave 3 days later, according to scripture then it is not the gospel! We are saved by grace (not any amount of works or human effort) by faith (alone) through Jesus Christ (alone). We must believe the gospel, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (alone). Only Jesus Christ made the full and complete sacrifice by His blood for our salvation. We are hopelessly lost sinners and can contribute nothing as Jesus Christ paid it all; Him and Him alone! Upon the moment of belief we are born again and sealed secure by the Holy Spirit and we receive the transferred righteousness of Christ for we have none of our own and we are saved forever!

Just because people put scriptures as what we call the old testament , and gospel as the new testament ; they are the same ; the words of The Most High God , the Father ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ; Hebrews 4:1-2 ) . You incorrectly answered your question "What is the Gospel?" This is "relationship salvation," a message by which no one is saved. You said: "Christ offers a relationship with him" and you assume that is how you are saved. You are not. The relationship comes after you are saved. You are saved by believing the gospel message about Jesus is true, that he, being the Son of God (God), came to Earth, died on a cross for the sins of the world, was buried, and resurrected on the third day. The moment you believe that Jesus did this for you, you are saved. You accept Jesus in the sense that you believe God's promises regarding salvation. You are not accepting an "offer of relationship" for none is offered until you believe. Then when you are saved, born again, you have a relationship with Christ as a child of God.

Did the thief on the cross believe on the resurrection (because he got saved) the disciples believed in jesus before he was resurrected. I was saved before I clearly heard and understood the gospel. Jesus reached in to the dark world I was living in and allowed me to know him, and allowed me to believe in him, allowed me to experience his love, and allowed me to love him back. I am sorry but everyone seems to be forgetting this. The gospel is the good news indeed, but the good news is that THE KINGDOM IS HERE. Why does everyone else forget this. Ravi everything else you have said is true praise God for his grace, but you CANNOT FORGET THE KINGDOM, because that is actually the good news. THEN after we preach this message, we are to preach and teach everything christ taught us. But the message is not just Jesus loves you let him love you here till you die and you go to heaven... the message is God's kingdom is here, King Jesus has saved us all and brought us into the kingdom, which is now here, on earth. We are His people. Jesus talks about our adoption into the family, into the kingdom, and our inheritance. How can we preach the gospel without that part of it.... But some might say, kingdom theology is too complex and complicated, you have to explain to them who Israel was, YHWH etc... YES... YES IT MAY TAKE A WHILE... perhaps that's why when Peter and Paul and John and James were sharing the gospel they actually spent time with their people... I get that in our present world we like everything fast easy and simple... 3:49 answer to what is the gospel would be ideal. But this is precisely why the church today has no idea of it's identity in the narrative.. the "story" of God. We are preaching a generation to wait to live once they die.

I was a Christian for 55 years. I followed and obeyed Christ. Do you know what I learned? I learned that God the Father (if he exists) is the first and biggest dead-beat dad ever! He was never present, never provided, never comforting, never spoke. He created me and abracadabra, he disappeared. Now that I am an atheist, I still hope God exists, I have a lot of questions. Jesus said in Luke 4:43 that he must preach the good news of the Kindgom of God, because that is why he was sent. WOW.... I'm a little surprised by his definition. In order to understand and appreciate the good news, you need the bad news. Separation from God is not bad news to the rebel sinner who hates God and lives as if they are the center of everything. The good news is that God is good. The bad news is that God is good. Why???? Because you are not. The bad news: God is good....... He must punish sin and execute His Holy justice and wrath against anyone who has fallen short of HIS standard of perfection ((We ALL have) Romans 3:23). We are cursed as fallen sons and daughters of Adam with a sin nature (Romans 5:12). Since He is infinitely Holy, His justice must be infinitely severe. All who try to justify themselves by their own works will suffer the severe, deserved judgement of God in hell. What hope do we have?? The good news: God is good....... Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. God, veiled in human flesh entered into His own creation, fulfilled God's impossible standards perfectly, by living a perfect life, in perfect humility to the point of death upon the cross. "Christ Jesus redeemed us from the curse by becoming a curse for us..." (Galatians 3:13). He took the full wrath and fury of God for all who turn to Him in repentance and faith. The spotless Lamb of God satisfied the wrath of God that all true believers deserve. He then died, and rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. Christ bore our sin and clothed us in His righteousness. He took our place and provided perfect atonement. All who truly believe will bear the fruit of a believer, and continue to be conformed into His image until we meet Him in eternity. What a day that will be when we get to savor, enjoy and worship our King forever.

Often, our desire is to explain what the gospel means, we try to sell it before we even know what it really is. That is exactly what has happened with “the gospel” most people who seem to care about it desire to make sense of the story and and make it appealing to others but in that desire we lose what the gospel really is. Hear from 2:25 onwards what the gospel is? Some people just cannot think creatively, they need it to be simplistic. But people like me like more detail, more thought and if the truth shines through (that Jesus bridges over sin to reach to us, if we repent and accept him) then that's good enough.

@@flwrsrosey3778 Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior (alone). Well my comment was pretty clear. Mary did NOT raise from the dead. She did NOT have the wrath of God poured out on her on the Cross. All power and authority in heaven and on earth was NOT given to her. She is NOT the way, the truth and the life, she can NOT get me to the Father. She can NOT atone for sin. She is NOT perfect. Now in the book of Colossians, for example. The apostle Paul wrote to them conserning the practices that they were partaking in; which consisted of self- mutilation, Gnosticism (works+the Law+dark and spooky so-called revelations of God), and the worshipping of angels. Now Paul brings them into the truth of all they need is CHRIST ALONE! By taking them back into creation and solidifying the Diety of Christ, by stating "we were created by Him, for Him, and nothing was made apart from Him". We were never commanded to pray to ANYONE else. If so, then that's another gospel. Jesus NEVER told us to "holla at My mama, and she will let me know". NO!! God shares His glory with NO ONE!! But, feel free to prove your point.....🧐

Dr. Zacharias has spent his whole life explaining and expositing the Scriptures and the Gospel through apologetics to men and women who wouldn't recognize a Scripture verse if it was tattooed on their eyeball. He approaches the skeptic and atheist and idol worshipper who wants to see how this so-called gospel can be "applied" to their over-educated existential presuppositions of the meaning and purpose of their life. He always answers that the only meaning of life and purpose is that found in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ the ONLY True God and the relationship we can have with Him. Then, once he has their attention, he recites chapter and verse better than anyone I know.

The gospel is that we have been given a way out of our slavery to sin that has separated us from God through repentance by coming clean with God, laying down our lives for Christ's sake, and dying to this world. If we truly repent of all known sin and then obey God in what He commands us to do, and sin no more, He will give us His Holy Spirit to teach and sustain us in the Truth and plant within us a new heart and mind that leads us to live a life of obedience to God where we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. The gospel is that we don't have to be in bondage to sin, the world, death, fear, and all the things that held us in bondage before our eyes were opened by the love and grace of God. But sadly, the gospel isn't preached today except in rare cases. People aren't being told that all known sin stops in repentance and that those who have access to God's grace and mercy are those who have ceased their rebellion to God and no longer commit willful sin. Titus 2:11-14 is the Gospel, Roman's 6 is the realisation of what a Christian is, Roman's 8 is the fruit which grows on a truly converted soul. This guy doesn't seem to know what the Gospel is. He never mentioned anything about ceasing from sin. The Son of God was manifest to destroy the works of the devil. It's "preachers" like this that are the reason so many are dying in their sins today. Christ lived and died to leave us an example to follow. He showed us it's possible to live a human life without being a slave to sin. Jesus was tempted just like we are, yet without sin. He promised to us even greater things. One of those greater things is complete release from even the temptation to sin. If you really repent and lay down everything at God's feet and truly surrender to Him with a willing heart and mind, all thoughts of sin and the desire for it will flee from you. This freedom is possible. This is the good news that Jesus brought to the world.
