Dr Scholl Gel Active WORK insoles review: Are These Good Inserts For Work?

I've been wearing these Dr. Scholl Gel Active Work insoles for a couple of months at work and I have to tell you that are not bad insoles. They're comfortable and they offer cushioning.
It has some great features including ventilation wholes to help your feet breathe better, especially in summer. You can cut them to size, and they also have anti-odor technology.

They do women’s too. However boots the chemist only had men’s and they fit just fine. Hopefully they will help my knee and lower back pain issues. On feet constantly for 7 hours a day. They hurt like anything at the end of the shift

Yeah, I think the only difference between the men and women Dr Scholl insoles is the size and the width. I've had an extra pair I've put them into my wife's trainers...and they looked a bit weird as in bulky and pushed against the trainer's walls if you know what I mean. So that's a thing to look for if you buy men's insoles to wear them in a woman shoes/trainer/boot. Wish you all the best and hopefully these can help with your problem. Adrian

great video, i tend to walk on the balls of my feet in work boots, I'm a big guy and was looking at these... this isn't the only review that has made me not want to buy them.... would you suggest or recommend any others? ( i also have big arches in my foot)

Hola Miguel, :) thanks for watching. They're not bad but they weren't for me since I wanted insoles with some support and these ones provide none. Not really sure what are you looking for, do you want arch support and heel stability or you simply want some extra cushioning? I was quite happy with these EasyFeet insoles I've had bestformyfeet.com/easyfeet-insoles-review/ I also liked the SOLE Active. bestformyfeet.com/sole-active-insoles-review/ These ones a bit more expensive but they provide both support and cushioning. And what I liked even more is that you can choose the thickenss of the cushioning which can be helpful for big dudes because it provides great shock absorption. Having arch support is very debatable. Some said our foot muscles need to work to make arch by itself. If we get support from outside, those small foot muscles became lazy and weak in the long run. Arch support should be just for temporary support. I think having arch is a personal choice.

I have stiff orthopedic shoes that I can't wear cause they give me heel pain especially when being active on them for hours. Would these inserts help for reducing discomfort in my stiff shoes when wearing them.

Hey Mohamed, that's a question that the person who recommended you to wear orthopedic shoes can answer. These Dr. Scholl might be a good option depending on what type of foot you have. The Gel Active by Dr. Scholl will provide cushioning but no support whatsoever... Personally, I like insoles that have a heel cup and some cushioning under the heel. This should keep the heel in place avoiding unnecessary movement and also providing cushioning and support in that area especially if you're walking/working on your feet. @@BestForMyFeet . . .i failed to mention I am not looking for support. Not arch support. There is 2 kinds of support of cushioning or arch. I am not looking for arch support. Just cushioning. I bought memory foam elastic inserts from Amazon but they weren't effective for me when wearing my stiff orthopedic shoes. I am now considering getting a gel type insole even though they are costly but if it helps then it will sure be worth it. Do you reccomend gel insoles for stiff shoes? My problem isn't lack of arch support but the hardness of the shoe. I am thinking gel inserts might help but I could use a second opinion.

@@mohamedn87 if you don't want support then I'd say it's a good insole. The gel does provide good shock absorption and cushioning for heels and the forefoot area. It's just that personally I don't like to wear flat insoles without any kind of support. Hope it helps.👍🏻

@@BestForMyFeet . . .OK. but the question is if it would help in the case of stiff shoes. You didn't answer that part for me. I hope you know what I mean by stiff shoes. Shoes with hardness in them. I am not talking about steel toe boots. Talking about shoes that hurt the heels when wearing them. My issue is heel pain from wearing stiff shoes. A sort of high heel drop helps me manage pernoal tendonitis. I know you said they help with heel pain but what about heel pain simply due to shoe hardness?. Do you reccomend these gel insoles or any gel insoles when wearing stiff shoes?. To emphasize I am not looking for arch support. Just comfort support as in cushioning. I would just like to know if they help counteract the feeling of stiff shoes. I have never tried gel type insoles before. I have tried elastic ones.

@@mohamedn87 my work boots are also stiff inside that's why I use over the counter insoles. So based on my experience these insoles should be good for your stiff shoes.

Actually it will reduce the pain there made for support but there made to provide comfort and comfort is not pain. The thing is you have to replace them after 6 months or first signs of wear. The insoles lift your foot off the bottom of the shoe or boot confronting every step you take more like your feet are flouting. So pain should subside

Thanks for sharing Ryan. Most people who bought this insole (including the manufacturer) say this particular insole it's not for support. If anybody want to wear these insole they should wear them before they start having any kind of pain. If you already have pain in your feet...these are no good. Hey Tony, thanks for sharing! 👍 You're right, they are thin or thiner than others models I've had. Mine were not bad in terms of comfort, they do provide good shock absorbption for the heel...but that's where I'd stop praising these gel insoles in particular :) What kind of work you're doing if you don't mind me asking?

Usually the cheaper these things are, the lower the quality is as well. So I don't know how good the Amazon ones are. Are they any good? Never tried them but this gave me an idea to maybe buy a few different ones and compare them.

I find these particular “Work” insoles are much better if you put them in on top of your current insoles. The front end of these have zero cushioning. Also, he said they were difficult to put in. HINT: Put the heel end in first, then press the front down.

It kinds of defeats the object if it doesn't help comfort your feet. My feet hurt being on my feet all day, so I thought that this might help

I agree but it will greatly depend on each individual. Maybe if you have no feet issues then this insole is going to work just great to give that extra cushioming in the heels (especially of you walk heavily on your heels)... Personally I don't have any feet conditions but I do need some extra support since I'm a heavy dude :) This insole is good or at least it's better than what you get with your normal boots though. You may need to get custom moulded ones eveyones feet is different just like how peaple wear glasses for sight you need moulded soles yes regular upgrade gel soles will be more comfortable but it could be better but having something that is custom for your feet alone is not cheap

@@Daedalus_UK I just bought me a pair of tread labz. They give me the perfect support cause I'm on my feet 10 hours a day in a warehouse. Superfeet is supposedly good as well and power step is also a good one. Dr scholls are comfortable at first, but they're cheap and provide no support

@@PurpJones These aren't for support, these are for dampening. I use them in my combat boots (which already have a supporting sole underneath), hurdling though the forest with 50 lbs of gear all day.

You do know there’s different kinds for different applications. So if you need them for work like steal toe boots get the right kind of you need them for runners sneakers get the right kind. The ones I got for work really help before I put them in my work boots I was in so much pain being on my feet for 10 hours a day. My toes would hurt my heals it got bad my foot went numb for a week. I installed these insoles right away I felt a difference I actually went home feeling good my back pain also went away cause it helped keep the pain from tracing up to my back.
