Hey Dr. Dave! Superfeet Black healed my plantar fasciitis five years ago! I haven't had pain since! I was in so much pain, and I wanted relief! I spoke with an orthopedic surgeon in New York and he recommended I get my hands on a good orthotic. Superfeet Black did it for me! Thanks for your content. Just wanted to chime in about the yellow ones, they work very well in ice hockey skates because the boot of the skate helps maintain the shape. They are helpful for helping your heel stay put in the skate especially when skating backwards. The holes in the bottom aren’t for cooling in the way described, they’re supposed to let sweet drip out of the skate boot, which has holes drilled into the bottom to get sweat out of the skate altogether.

I was wearing expensive insoles for 25 years. They made my feet feel better, but never fixed anything. Stay with me now. Running shoes have thick soles that make your feet touch the ground un-naturally. Their wide soles stabilize your foot so much that your muscles atrophy. Next your arches hurt because you lost the muscle tone to hold them up. Barefoot walking or minimalist shoes allow your feet to spread far more and gives your foot more leverage for better balance. Now that I have retired, I have gone 2 months barefooted or in minimalist shoes. I am convinced that this is the cure. Now that I'm not wearing casts on my feet, my balance has improved, my foot dexterity has increased and my arches are returning, leaving me with much less foot pain.

The black model saved my plantar fasciitis that fancy orthotics could not. Years later, I wore flip flops for about 6 months straight and didn't realise I was prone to morton's neuroma. I had to get specialised orthotics. Luckily they've improved the design. They never did, however feel like they were distributing my body's weight across my metatarsals (like the pad was slightly too far back). After worsening pain, I pulled out my old superfeet black and put a slightly thicker pad in the left shoe and put both pads slightly further down and now I have no pain. I should have saved my money and stuck with superfeet with taped down metatarsal pads. The black, for me, has the same arch height as my professionally fitted orthotics. So... purchase your expensive made for your orthotics and then try matching a superfeet model that is most like your orthotics (and metatarsal pads if you need them) so that you can have more than one pair.

So helpful. The company is not this clear at explaining it all and I will go further and say they only confuse the buyer more with their lack of tabular comparison resources. I've used three types and one, (the original low profile leather), is now discontinued. I think Green and Orange are the best sellers for a reason. New users might be shocked that the arch is a bit further back and closer to the heel on this brand than on most others, but after a day or two of acclimatization they will understand. Expensive insoles and cheap shoes are better than the opposite!

Most of these companies have no clue on how to make good insoles. When you take this fact into consideration with them being insanely overpriced for cheap foam glued on top of plastic molds that costs literally 50 cents, it's criminal and explains why there are so many new companies getting into this industry.

here's a few suggestions worth trying Test out one of the natural remedies for plantar foot. Something as simple as ginger root, which can be bought at your drug store, is a good anti-inflammatory. Ginger root is in a group of plants known as Cox inhibitors. That means they prevent inflammation naturally. Another natural remedy for pain is Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme got from pineapples. If you drink the raw juice or eat raw pineapple, you can gt advantage from the natural pain relief of Bromelain. This is natural healing at its very best. Thanks for the review. It helps a lot since the official product descriptions feel pretty generic. I'd like to add some thoughts on the yellow one (for inline skating) . I have not tried them, but from your video I think they might work a little better than you give them credit for (with inline skates, at least) . The inline skates that have a non removable liner, like the top of the line made of carbon fiber, have a molded sole / base and are more rigid all around than any shoe, so that shape would prevent the insole from fully collapsing under ones weight. Regarding the perforations, while I think they're not fully thought, some skate boots have ventilation holes, and in my experience / opinion, some are not about a real air flow, but to break the otherwise full insulation and allow some heat dissipation. It's not much, but I have a pair of boots that are fully sealed and from the first minutes of use, I wished they had any form of ventilation, no matter how little, but some. After watching your video I'm thinking of trying the yellow ones... They won't help with the ventilation, but the rised heel might help me transfer weight /power to the ball of my foot (I have flat feet and always used insoles in my skates and shoes)

Kathy: Since the pain is so bad it might not be a bad idea to have it checked out by a podiatrist. In the meantime, what you could try doing is putting an arch support in your shoe. Unfortunately, arch supports are not categorized by the severity of your heel pain. So you basically try one and see if it works. Now here is an idea: You could try Superfeet green (see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aV7GlHppZZmrrs0 ) and then if that doesn't work you could try adding a felt arch pad to the arch support to raise the arch a bit further (see this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZLckmB9bZ2oqMU ) I hope you get relief soon.

Generally speaking, men's feet are broader than women's feet. When shoes are built they are constructed on "molds" which are called lasts. Until recently, women's shoes were constructed on men's lasts. Now, a lot of the better women's shoes and sneakers are built on women specific lasts. A ladies shoe built on a woman's last will have a narrower heel and fit the "typical" woman's foot a bit better. The Superfeet Berry was built with the woman's specific shoe in mind especially when compared to the original Superfeet Green. But overall I thought that the Superfeet Carbon was fairly slim so you might find that it fits your foot nicely. Thanks for watching the video.

Try the blues or the carbon. These two + the orange have stiffer caps than the other options mentioned and hence should offer better stability under load. I would personally opt for the carbons if you have any concern over volume.

Superfeet Green is always a good introductory arch support in the Heritage line. Superfeet Berry is women's specific and has a softer forefoot. I think that both of those inserts are a good representation of what Superfeet has to offer.

Finally purchased some superfeet greens after having stabbing pain in my heels 3 hours in out of my 10 hour shift. The first day i used them, i had ZERO stabbing pain. I supinate/under pronate when i walk and stand and found out i have high arches, as soon i put these in my work boots i can feel my feet make full contact with the insole. I will be honest after about hour 7, my feet did start to get very tired. I am hoping this is just the normal break in period since the insole is deceivingly firm.

Which one works best for flat feet?
@frugalfoot49736 жыл бұрын
Hello aztecabo1: I have had that question asked before. See below. As I told that person, I would suggest you first watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3PMlHiLqb6Goac Then you can better appreciate just how high (or flat) your arch really is. You might be surprised. Once you have that information you have the option to go back and watch this video and pick out the insert that might best fit your arch. Remember that these are not custom inserts so no insert fits perfect. Hope that helps.

length of usable service ?
@frugalfoot49735 жыл бұрын
Excellent question. Impossible to answer specifically because of all the variables (how often they are used, how they are used - dress/outdoors/sports). But overall I think the Superfeet line looks well built. The part that usually breaks down first on my inserts is the top cover and the Heritage line appears fairly rugged. I have a pair of the original greens. And I mean original - given to me by a sales rep well over a decade or two ago. Thanks for your comment.

@frugalfoot49736 жыл бұрын
I think that depends upon what kind of dancing shoe you are wearing and what style of dance you are referring to. If you are wearing a ballroom style shoe I think you'll find them difficult to utilize. On the other hand, if you are square dancing and wearing a boot then it shouldn't be much of a problem.

So what insoles are best for running shoes
@frugalfoot49736 жыл бұрын
Hi Juan. Thanks for your question. This is simply my opinion but I think the carbon insert would be the best overall for running. I copied and pasted my comment section regarding this insert below: Carbon: amzn.to/2DEYhtw In my opinion, it is the insert to start with if you are an athlete or on your feet for long periods of time throughout the day. It is the most rigid of the inserts in the Heritage line and measures 2.8 cm which is excellent support for an over the counter arch support.

@frugalfoot49736 жыл бұрын
Rumeel12708: Forefoot runners end up striking the floor with a high arched/rigid foot type. Therefore a softer insert would be beneficial to lessen the blow. I would also seek out an insert that has a lot of cushioning below the met heads. Maybe even a Powerstep insert...check out the video and see if anything sounds like it might work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGa1gJqAl6almJY

I have custom orthotics ( for some years). I have flat feet (lifelong fallen arches + collapsed ankles) Had cork and other materials that were a bit softer, but theyre so pricey. Do you think superfeet can be an alternative, or do you need it custom fit to the foot? There's very little good podiatrists in the Netherlands sadly that make good custom insoles. I notice the custom orthotics are always quite thick and I have to fit tens of pairs of shoes to find one that fits, because they come with slim insoles that you remove, not leaving a lot of room left. Such a struggle :(
@frugalfoot49733 жыл бұрын
Hi Rich: I recommend you watch my series on orthotics and you will learn a lot about custom inserts. It might help steer you in a good direction or at least give you better insight so you can answer your question.

I have yet to find a proper explanation for the colors. Its as if no one wants us to know. What color is best for people with flat feet please? The person that without support. The ankles roll in and feet develop neuromas for lack of arch. There is a reason for the colors, but no real explanation on who would be better served by what color.
@frugalfoot49735 жыл бұрын
Excellent comment. I never thought of associating the color of the device with a foot type. That would be a good marketing idea. I can't speak for Superfeet - it might be a good question to ask them.
